BigKNGa, don't be hating on the Christopher Reeve's Superman because it was awsome and a true classic at that and was the reason why I got into superman a long time ago.

HOWEVER, there is a reboot being planned.

I think the thing is that this is a 'loose' sequel to the first two. It's presumed Supers and Lois banged a lot more than the one time, I think.

The Donner cut should not be discounted. It's the version of what should have been. The Lester cut was crap-pure and simple. What they should have done with the new "Superman" series is reboot the series and start from scratch.

the original wa the way better film. come on....in donners cut, he destroys the fortress...and luthor is arrested by THE U.S. ARTIC PATROL????!!!!!! At his doorstep at the fortress...where no one is supposed to know it exists?! There is a reason donner's cut was never in the movie. it is a cool alternative, way better than superman returns. But never say that donner's cut was better.

Superman Returns was great! Kevin Smith swears that his shitty idea was better than what Brian Singer put out. Give me a break. Kevin Smith only wishes he could make a movie as bad ass, and thought provoking at the same time.

I love Kevin Smith, but I'm with you. Superman Returns was great. It was an homage to the first one. If you hate Returns you hate the first one, cause all Superman did in that one was lift things. It is unfortunate that they're rebooting the franchise, but hopefully it will be for the best.

that was not an homage....it was nothing but a fucking remakes of the first TWO...not first one. all the lines in SR were the same damn lines in the first movie. It was crap. I liked routh's acting, and I liked spacey as luthor....but they never had a chance to really shine in their characters because they wer elocked in a crappy rehash of old lines from the original Reeve's movies.

I don't hate the original film The one thing I can't understand is why Warner brothers let Jon Peters be producer when he had already spent 50million dollars of Warner's money in the late 90s trying to make a superman movie and not one bit of filming was done Jon Peters at this time wanted to get rid of the superman suit and he said he couldnt fly Why did Warner brothers pick Bryan Stinger as director Considering that he worked on a comic book to film that is DCComics biggest rival Marvelcomics

Superman Returns was awesome, if you hate Returns you hate the original. In the Original, Superman didn't fight anyone, all he did was lift things, too. And Smallville sucks. Lex gets bumped on the head, Clark saves him, Someone gets amnesia, Clark breaks it off with Lana, All they do is recycle ideas and stall. Tom Welling isn't even a very good actor. Plus Brian Singer is far more talented than any director Smallville has, all they do is use the same shots over and over.

I think she knew all along that it was Superman's kid. Singer only used the part of Superman 2 where he slept with her not the rest of it. He said all along that it followed the continuity of the first film and "part" of the second. Thats why she was so pissed off at him. He left her pregnant.

I think we got into this on another video clip. I stand by my response to that one. Vampire serority girls, kung fu Lana... hell let's throw in witchy Chloe and Lois as well. Smallville was fun for a while but it's pretty damn rediculous.

It may have done a better job "modernizing" but Superman Returns wasn't at all an attempt at modernizing Superman. It was the opposite. It was an attempt to portray a more classic Superman whereas Smallville is Superman in Dawson's Creek.
