I have played and sung this song ever since I seen Cadence in college in the 1990's. There has never been a song that has touch me like this song has. For a while I didn't hear anything about Harry. Then heard he was homeless. This video is the 1st video that I've seen of Harry other than Cadence. If you ever read this post Harry, understand you have touch more people singing End of my Journey than you'll ever know. Some more that others. But know one thing is that you've touched mine. Stay Well
I saw Harry singing in NYC just today 1/23/12 and have known him since the 1980s - knew him when he wrote this song and many other great ones. Please - let's all think of ways to get this wonderful person's talent out there - and see that he gets paid for it. Thanks !
I don't like how I cant hear him sing. I know he's not like he was perhaps, but I'd like to hear him sing the song with less keyboard cuz it's the lyrics that get me choked up.
I'm not a religious person but i swear when I heard this song it touched me in a way that it brought tears to my eyes and knot in my throat. What an amazing song and singer :D
I wish I knew who posted this!! If this was really 2010 it makes my heart pump. I would love to find a way to get back in contact with Harry. It's been 25 years! Any body have any ideas??
People who have been singing gospel have heard of this "bye and bye" theme many times before. This song was originally written by a southern Baptist songwriter back in 1933. It had more success when Johnny Cash rewrote it with different words and even more success when Sam Cooke recorded it with a gospel group before he started singing pop. Harry had said he was so inspired by the Johnny Cash lyrics that he kept them but rewrote the music to become the beautiful anthem it is now.
Where is Harry? Times Square? There is next to nothing about Harry on the internet. I want to produce his documentary. Does anyone know how to get a hold of him? Where can he be found?
Is this the real deal? Can anyone confirm? My cousin is a pastor in the Salvation Army he was in White Plains NY about 6 or 7 years ago and said for a few Sundays the Salvation Army ARC would come to church on Sundays and Harry attended for several Sundays. Apparently Harry had suffered through alcohol and drug abuse which is what a Salvation Army ARC program is designed for
@krazykracker1 From what i've read on other Cadence clips on Youtube, yes Harry was homeless for a while and addicted to drugs and alcohol. God Bless him!!!
I agree. I have a particular health problem that gets me feeling extremely despondent, and this song really lifts my spirit. I don't blame God for the affliction, but I thank him for blessing me with the ability to still recognize beauty around me. And I do eagerly look forward to the end of the journey.
@sapsteve Yeah, I saw it many years ago and think about it now and then, which brought me here. I meant what is the story/circumstance behind this video/performance 20 years later?
I used to watch the Cadence every day just to hear his voice...angelic! Is there any way to get acopy of the sheet music? I play piano andwould love to learn to play this song. I have looked for it for years. It brings me to tears every time I hear him sing it. I have no idea why Harry Stewart isn't a very famous musician/singer. Very talented...

I hear Harry Stewart is homeless in NYC, if so they are wasting a damn fine talent.
I might be able to help out with that.
Get him work here in Cody, WY
I got connections, even with one of U.S senators who is a friend of mine. But I'll contact others who have influnce first, even the local newspaper.

I will be in Manhattan in 2012 and I hope I will be able to run into Harry while i'm there......

@creativendeavor
I would contact the Occupy crouds in NYC, see if they know where he be.
I got a friend who volunteers at the Freedom Center in Ohio, I asked him too, if they can give a hand.
I would also contact Huckabee and see if Harry can appear on his show.
Fox and Friends would also be a good venue.
Harry is so talented, we cannot waste his talent.
