  • Why can't black do this?

    1. white-pawn to E4

    2. black-pawn to E5

    3. white-knight to F3

    4. black-knight to F6 (instead of to C6)

    Please Explain

  • @simon13579100 Yes you can, it's called Petrov's Defence.

  • Why cant they turn into a king... that would be a cool challenge =) Never thought of that.

  • another thing a pawn can't turn into reaching the other side... is another pawn.

  • My computer en passants any piece it can, not just pawns!

  • @SiliconBong O_O

  • I thought that was the 'windows rule' fryber21. Once the computer's got the pawn in the fifth column . . . it can eat whatever comes its way !!

  • Kings pawn to frogs pawn

  • I always thought that if a pawn had the ability to capture a piece, it had to capture the piece and was not allowed to move forward instead. It was not mentioned in this video, so I'm assuming that rule is false.

  • I never knew that about capturing from behind... thing. Thanks! Although i doubt i will ever use it, as no one else knows :P

  • Thanks for the videos man.....I used to play chess till my college (but stopped after I started working) and let me tell u i didnt knew about that En passant move (3.38)...kind of stupid i know....but it was good decision to started with basics.....now getting back my interest in this game again......

And I think 'Wontonlo' was also asking abt En passant move.....

  • Ok here goes, I am going through all the videos. It's so much in order in the website. Been reading about en passant but I finally understand it from this video.

  • Thank you very much, I'm just starting to study the game of chess. I had no idea about en passant. Now I have a secret move for my friends XD !

  • when the opponent moves two spaces. black pwn 5c and white pwn moves from d5 to c6 the next turn.

  • en passant, check out video around 3:35

  • what is the move where the pawn moves from the 5 lvl to 6?

  • not sure i understand the question. can you give me a move order?
