  • this guy is good, I like the wy he explains, not sure if I were making I would be fine with a motronome))

  • @dex: To be a bass player, you must have rhythm. Think about a walking bass line - a strong internal pulse that acts as a metronome is a MUST! No teacher, no matter how brilliant, can help a student without innate rhythm. If this person was my student, I would stop taking his money and suggest he study Cosmetology.

  • OMG! One of the worst instructional videos EVER! He needs to forget Paul Chambers for several years and work on just keeping time. It's a nice sounding bass but truthfully, what is an excellent tool if there is an inept practitioner behind it?

  • how can someone get paid to do that if they cant play in time? wtf :O

  • staaare at the camera... and lolz rushing. I transcribed a paul chambers solo 3 months ago, but not with any help from these people...

  • these bassists suck

  • hey man...nice playing...spl with the metronome on 2 and 4! it creates the swing! good idea improvise for four beats and come back to a fixed phrase....great exercise for the mind...u can relax and think about what you are gonna play for the next bar! very nice....cheers and thanks for the lesson.

  • why the 2nd bass there????????????

    study more tempo!

  • am I supposed to learn something from this?

  • good but he is out of the beat!

  • oooohhh you were rushing...lol. i think i actually learned a little somethin...maybe

  • @bassbandlover i didn't at all...

  • i think he's trying to molest me with his eyes XD

lol expert village is terrible, who are these people?? they're not 'experts' they're average >_>

  • What do you use for textbooks? Got any recommendations?

  • am thinking of getting a double bass. Which make should i go for? What should look out for before purchasing an instrument?

  • Engelhart ES-9 is a beauty. Make sure anything you buy has a planed neck and an adjustable bridge, otherwise you will need to undertake addl expense to set it up.

  • you have to go and play before you buy. the make and model do not matter. ususally hand carved or hybrid basses are better than lamanent, but there are lamanent basses that hold there own. your instrument should be based on the sound you wanna make with it

  • hey this guy have some one in family in queend band the bassist he look like him

  • this guy needs to play with a metronome more often... his time is shit house

  • @steeliedude thats right

  • IM A PEODAPHILE AND THIS GUY IS AWESUM

  • @steeliedude grab a heart, hater.

  • @dexfx69 Not my fault his teacher didn't do a good job...

  • Folks, if you want to integrate Paul Chambers, TRANSCRIBE the bass playing on the records on which he played. Don't take any advice from these "Expert Village" videos, all you need is a metronome, recordings, and a good teacher/mentor.

  • paul did play a lot with the lower notes

  • He keeps staring at me!

  • no groove at all

  • damn man, go to bed once in a while!!

  • These captions are frighteningly off. D:

  • you can tell he's not feeling the pulse, he's just sort of drifting ahead

  • driving the band is good but you're too ahead of the beat

  • Hey DaisyMax44, I like his afro, and his technique looks pretty solid, I've copied it and my playing has improved ten fold. Why dont you put up a video of yourself playing in your ' Skool Orchestra ' and maybe you could show us how to hold a bass properly.

  • after 1:03 he rushed, but then he fixed it. it was really slight. i dont like repeating the same phrase over and over again unless there was some kind of interaction between the soloist. but i get the point he's trying to make

  • Funny, I'm hearing plenty of notes. Nothing wrong with good ol half and first positions. And he seems to be holding the bass fine to me.

  • the flat notes are up there. he said it was in Bb

  • the flat notes are everywhere :/, he's playing the lower octave of the bass

  • He creeps me out as well lol. But he has plenty of good ideas to work with.

  • very nice

  • Hi, What strings do you have on your bass, are those spirocores?

    Thanks-

  • just added the 1-5-3-5 to may aresnel. The alternating between 1-5-3-5 then whatever I choise sounds great even if the alternating line is boring I have been playing electric bass for 5 years. Thanks a bunch. Your a cool cat.

  • Thanks for the videos, they have really helped me, keep up the good work.
