"Last year, around 25,000 people died of AIDS related illnesses, said MSF Operations Manager Joe Belliveau, A similar number of people could suffer the same fate in 2008 unless there is a significant increase in accessible antiretroviral treatment.'
walk the walk, let see him do something more than talk. Judge him on his ACTIONS not his rhetoric. Mr. change is not off to a good start, most people he's filling his cabinet with are not CHANGE. i want my vote back.
listen to this man and you dont hear the same old bs polictian out of the side of the mouth
crap. he's for real and if you can't see it in his eyes or hear it in his voice then you are lost. don't agree with some of his cabinet choices(hc) but i feel his honestly will do what he feels best for the country and go beyond party lines if necessary. we are lucky that he came along at the time we need someone like him the most.
There has, for many years in the past, a cure for HIV/AIDS. The cure was found in the US at a major university on the east coast. Would it not be in the best interest of the world to make the cure available to those who are suffering from this terrible thing, rather than keeping it suppressed from the people of this world. Who gains, when a very affordable cure is denied to the people who need it? Surely not the drug industry or medical associations, right? How about we free the people. No lies.
I think it is great that he quotes the bible. Half of his constituents are evangelical christians. He needs them on board to get anything done. It relates to them. to me, the bible is archaic, but it is about morality which is a major concern with many people. Morality is important.
flu shots and even the flu itself will cause one to have a false positive on the hiv test according to a 2006 New England Journal of Medicine report. the hiv test only identifies the presence of 2 proteins and many conditions will cause the body to produce those 2 proteins including recreational drug use, pregnancy and tuberculosis among others. please pray for all those who have been misdiagnosed with hiv and the AIDS Syndrome.
generally speaking, once you have been "diagnosed" you get a second test done to confirm, or at least talk to someone knowledgable and find out if you truly are HIV positive. Please don't freak out.
It is a real tragedy that AIDS/HIV is doing so much harm in Africa right now. As an American I hope President elect Obama can help those people. Keep up the communications Sir and I think we can change the world.
I love this man....He will be and already is in my mind thee best President of my lifetime.....and I am only 38.....lived through Regan,Bush, Clinton, and Bush again...It is so refreshing to have new blood!!!
You have my full support President Obama, because I KNOW YOU WORK FOR ME!!
How proud my family is that my cousin Fred P. Hochberg, who made history by being the first openly gay person appointed as a Presidential Cabinet Member (during the Clinton Admin) & was former co-chair of the National Human Rights Campaign, was chosen by you, Mr. President-elect, to be one of the seven (so far) LGBT people who are part of the transition team that is helping you prepare to take charge of the federal government.
Fred will make you, our country and the world proud.

no God bless YOU Mr. Obama - taking your time out what must be an extremely busy schedual and sitting down and talking to us, keeping us informed and of course hopeful.

We watched a mockumentary about early AIDS research. I forget what it was called... something about Drums.
It was an extremely depressing movie. I'm not sure how legit it is, but the movie portrayed that America didn't really want to acknowledge the disease until after it leaked out of the gay community.
You go, Mr. Obama! Kudos to you for taking time out of your busy schedule to address the public. I really feel you care about us. (: Hope you continue this through your presidency. It's different from other presidents, but in a very good and connecting way.
Thank you, Gold Bless you and your family too!!!
