135 pound bail of hay i have lived and work on afarm all my life and have never seen a 135lb bail of hay unless its realy wet which yours was not judjing by the amount of dust comeing out of it try 65-75 lbs
A longer sling when used with a properly retuned release pin would correct the low angle throws while maintaining the same release time. A shorter sling would improve the angle, and maybe range, the the release would be earlier and thus it would be less optimal than the same angle at the later release (from the longer sling and more backward pin). Fixed CW trebs benefit from a late release, though there are many factors.
Nice treb. I think you guys need a longer sling and (at least for the lighter projectiles) a more backwards release pin. That way you can release later (with more energy) but still have a good release angle.
Made me reinstall age of empires 2....

Bad Neighbour was the name of one of the trebuchet used by Richard the Lionheart at the siege of Acre.

my highschool physics class made trebuchets that were a fraction of this one, but they threw about 3x the distance...

@SoMeOnERokaz think of the fact that they are throwing 135 pound projectiles

5/5, LOL good job, I built one of these before, I only wish i still had it. But one day im going to build a trébuchet big enough to hurl cars LOL

After watching in slow motion, you need shorter sling length. By the time the sling gets to a good angle, the arm is well past 90 degrees.

Of course, I'm more of a hanging counterweight/FAT person and typically don't run sims on fixed counterweight.

@NoOne3234, i agree with you, sometimes you have to keep adjusting the string length until you get a good satisfying projectile

It's got size, but the fixed counterweight and sacrificial sling seem, for lack of a better word, lazy.
