I used to follow this band around like a puppy. They were great. The big mistake was releasing "Forever" as the single off their album, they should have released "I Can't Find the Words...." They had also opened for Rick Springfield at the old Grand Circus Theater. "Time to Move" was doing well at that time. I can't believe I've found them here again, lol! Geez, they got some funny hair after my time following them, ahaha!
I was a huge BSA fan. I still have the original Forever album and T-shirt. I rode the bus to Hart Plaza when I was 14 to see them play and didn't they warm up for Bon Jovi in 1984 for a free concert at Hart Plaza? Saw them so many times, they were great. I actually downloaded their CD to my Ipod and I still listen to the songs every now and then. Wish they would have lasted longer!!!
Feels like being at Hart Plaza back in the day when Detroit audiences were the best rock and roll audiences in the world... and Detroit bands were the best bands in the world.
Many great memories at New York-NewYork and Freedom Hill!!! Grew up in Sterling Heights as well, and remeber many good times with this band. ALWAYS lots ofgirls at their shows!!! :)
OMG, what memories!!!!!!!! I see myself in the front row, and LMAO at what an idiot I must have been!!! Seeing big AL rocked, too!! I miss this stuff big time!!
I can answer that question as I made this video (and just about all of the other live BSA videos). I originally posted at Motor City Rocks, but I thank whoever posted it here. I used the footage we shot at NY,NY and a WRIF show at Freedom Hill. When you see the footage of Gary (in a snappy white shirt), that is from our footage of BSA's last show. Gary was gone by the time we shot the NY,NY shows. We still have more footage in the vault of this band who ended much too soon.-John
Your welcome & I'll be sure to give you credit for making them. :) Glad there are videos like these out there. BSA was great! (too bad I wasn't around when they were)
Oh my gawd...talk about bringing back old memories! Where the hell did you find this? Was this shot at the "MainAct/Ritz" ? Thank you for sharing this!

lol i knew all the old bands bsa rockets, seduce, strut,,its funny you mention critical and jocaine and that scene i know them all to,,its sure changed alot.i loved the locals back in the day,it sure was better than the disco shit lol, i grew up next to dave from rythem corps. and new romantics and knack members,,fuckin awesome scene in music for the time,,i think it would sell out today.music dont have the hook it should have today peace, doz
I used to love BSA. I still have my albums and 45's lol! I took my now 30 year old brother to Hart Plaza to his "first" concert when he was only 4 yrs old and he is now 30. I have awesome pics from Pine Knob and some from Jaggers as well as autographed pics and some drumsticks and guitar pics from the members. They were great!
I seen BSA at Schoocraft college in Sept 84, they opened for Mammas Boys. For some reason this crazy hari krishna fucker was trying get on stage to hurt the band. security fucked him up haha!!

Saw BSA at Hart Plaza, New York New York and Harpos back in the late 80s. Met Gary Spaniola a few times through a mutual friend, he was a cool dude. Shame they never made it big outside of Detroit. Thanks for the vid
Geeze! What a blast from the past! My girlfriend dated Tim Marko (drummer) and we were like damn groupies... all over the East Side in the early '80's. BSA and Barooga Bandit (Lake Orion bar band) were the BEST!
Tim Marko was such a fox. This was THE premier rock and roll band in Detroit at the time. We were so proud of them. They made great music. Miss those days...
who the hell can hate dave gerston? the dude was mellow as hell back when i knew him. spaniola was also really a good guy. dated my sister for a while.
I can remember going to the suburban Detroit bars every weekend and it would be either bsa, strut, or toby red.....and that band that imitated the beatles, can't recall their names.
lol this brings back good old days when my cousin dated the bass player and me my brother working for almighty strut back the and i was working at the ritz gezzz im old ,,,lmao
