I had been feeling around in my nose and I found the sweet spot, so I took a thick needle, slooooowly shoved it through, it hardly even hurt, and then I just pushed the jewellery through ( a curved barbell with cones on the ends, 16 gauge). I know it was stupid of me, but I've had absolutely no problems with it. I know I was only lucky and that it could have ended up very bad, but I love my septum piercing :D :D

I started piercing my ears myself when i was in middle school i even pierced my own nose and belly button and i went to get my snug done professionally and it got infected and that was the first time anything got infected and i pierce all of my friends or anyone really who wants to. i use all the right equipment so people really need to stfu it's not a big deal i just dont want to pay 60 dollars for a stupid piercing.

I didn't stab myself because when I got towards the end I could feel that it was close to piercing the other side and just broke the skin with the tip of it. Then I removed my fingers and pushed the larger part threw.

Your parents give you a roof over your head and clothes on your back; they deserve more respect. but well, you took way to long... and if you're going to pierce it,

1. ALWAYS use a hollow needle. Safety pins cause so many infections it's insane.

Don't pierce it unless you have the right gauge and the ring will fit that is just a waste of time.

and 2. If a needle is on a hair piece it is NOT sanitary whether you burned it or not..and you shouldn't burn a safety pin it can react and cause infections..

but all in all..it looks like you did an okay job.

I got my mom (A PROFESSIONAL!) to do mine. Doing your septum yourself is EXTREMELY dangerous. It can get infected and kill you. Your nose leads right up to your brain. Think Im kidding? You obviously don't know what you're doing if you were going to use a safety pin (and then used something else that still wasn't a piercing needle), pierced without gloves, and in a totally unsafe environment. Courses for piercing are bullshit. If you want to pierce, apprentice at a reputable shop.

@askingalexandria25 I would say a low of 2 maybe 3, on a scale 1-10. Though Im a girl with 22 piercings and only 8 done professionally. There is a soft part by the bottom of the nose that is called the sweet spot that you go through.

I would say septums are one of the few piercings you should let a professional do as for some people there sweet spot is tiny and you really dont want to miss when it comes to septums.
