I'm surprised people don't like colorful characters like Jessie here. The administrators of MTV picked the guy and then I guess due to the negative response he didn't have a very long stay w/ the channel even though the other runner up guy (I think) Dave Holmes was more a bland Carson Daly type who stayed around longer and has actually made a TV career w/ "DVDs on TV" on FX or some channel. I guess you need these politician-type middle-of-the-road characters to satiate the masses.

I remember watching MTV's Wanna Be a VJ when Jesse won. He was hilarious on the show and way more interesting than any of the other contestants, including the runner-up Dave Holmes who got a job too and actually stuck around longer as a VJ. From everything I've seen I don't think it's an act; that's his real personality. This isn't one of his better moments though, he's usually funnier.
The people insulting Jesse Camp are probably ghetto-ass people who listen to crap like Beyonce and Kanye West. Ignore them. Jesse Camp was one of the best MTV VJs ever. He was very unique and different and I admire people like that.
