@Vziera yes there are mosnters in cave diving.....wild animals that will perce your wet suit and cause all the air close to your skin keeping you warm to not exist and for you to freeze to death! Oh and there have been reports of people trailing off from the team and never coming back....
Really? What animals? Oh, and with wet suits there is no air between the suit and your skin. They keep you warm by decreasing the through flow of water. Stop bullshitting, kid.
@skulleton like , this scorpion/shrimp like thing that has sharp claws and mulesks z stuff oh and "n the case of a wetsuit, the suit is designed to minimize heat loss. Wetsuits are usually made of neoprene that has small closed gas cells, generally nitrogen, trapped in it during the manufacturing process."
@skulleton "n the case of a wetsuit, the suit is designed to minimize heat loss. Wetsuits are usually made of neoprene that has small closed gas cells, generally nitrogen, trapped in it during the manufacturing process." and this shrimp/scarpion like creature , muleks, n stuff idk...sharks.....
The material has CLOSED gas cells to increase it's volume and thus it's buoyancy. Shrimps are not dangerous in the least. Occasionally there are shark caves, but generally you would not enter those. The biggest threat to a cave divers comes from the overhead environment, where direct ascent is not possible.
@skulleton Ehm, you think the neoprene has the closed gas cells to increase it's volume and buoyancy????? Why the hell would that be helpful? Rather have a wetsuit that is constanty neutral buoyant, much easier to dive in. Air, or nitrogen gas in this instance is a bad conductor of heat, meaning: insulation. So the gas cells are there to make the material more insulant = keep you warm. Why the hell would anyone want more volume????????

I don't give a crap how beautiful this is. There is nothing beautiful about the fact that so many people die because of cave diving every year. Don't you guys who go cave diving realize how dangerous it is for you? Don't you realize that by doing this, and worse still posting it, you are encouraging other people to do it an are hence endangering their lives? Assholes.
@concordesm2010 It's not the cave diving that kills people you idiot, it's divers that go into caves untrained. A trained cave diver that follow protocol will always surface alive. Do some research before you spew arrogant crap.
This is one of my favorite videos on YouTube... I keep on coming back to watch it every so often! I love the underwater beauty of these caverns and the high definition brings it all to life, right on my own computer screen! What a dream of an adventure; exploring these secret, long-submerged limestone corridors with all the magic of a fantasy world... right out of the pages of a Jules Verne novel!
That's because the fish often follow the diver's light inside. This poses quite a problem, because the fish aren't supposed to be in there and they can change the cave eco system and configuration.
Absoultely beautiful. Thanks for uploading this. It's a wonderful feeling doing this kind of activity. No problems with any silt, as this cave is crystal clear. Still a saviour line should be used to get back where you came from. Thanks once again, absoultely beautiful.
cave diving and hazmat diving are the most dangerous types, cave diving is hazourdous mainly because u cant get to the surface going vertically but what makes it most horrible for me anyway is that if hug the edges of the cave you can get pulled through a suction vacume and get trapped in a tiny sub-cave that slowly fills with water and its almost impossible to get out :P
And it is He Who has let free the two seas (kinds of water), one palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter, and He has set a barrier and a complete partition between them.
The idea for this sport came as somebody was disposing of a body. Take all the regular hazards of diving (itself a dangerous activity), and add exploring uncharted territory, freezing temperatures, low-visibility conditions, and cramped quarters. And dont forget that ticking clock on your air supply—you cant just go up to breathe (risking the bends). On top of that, its still a wilderness experience, and some of the caves actually have wild animals living in them.
Last time I was in Calima we came from Grand Cenote and we had a real "traffic jam" in Boa-restriction. A group of 7 or 8 divers wanted to go in and we wanted to go out... We took a small look around Calimba and went back... Nice trip I like to remeber - Thx for the video!
@starburstmeganx3 You will find that cave diving is a bit scary as you first learn; start by taking a cavern course (natural light), then guided dives, then if you find it clicks for you sign up for a cave class, which requires a lot of classroom time. After you have your full cave certification and are comfortable with the gear and environment, cave diving is addicting.

Please keep posting your cenote dive adventures here on YouTube! The High Quality picture and color are absolutely breathtaking! I will never have a chance to see these incredible environments in person, but your videos clearly give one a memorable experience just by watching! The abundance of stalactites, stalagmites, floqwstone and the huge columns give the appearance of a fantasy world come to life!
These guys are terrible! How many times did they touch the delicate formations. If your buoyancy is this crappy, STAY OUT OF THE DELICATE CAVES!!! Stick to the training caves till you get better.
didn't have enough money to this dive, but did Calavera, Gran cenote and Angelita in Tulum mexico, well what can i say its like in ths vid, jus awsome can wait to get back in2 that world love, thanx for sharing this vids :-)
oh My God this is one of my dreams....the bad thing is that Im not even a scuba diver hahahaha, but I will learn, and then I will do this ...for sure :D
As fas as I know there are only two or three places like these mexican cenotes in the world, recently I saw a documentary from the animal planet saying that there are a lot more to be explore yet in the Yucatan peninsula.
It's well known that it's kind of dangerous to dive in these caves but if you do it with an expertee and follow all his instructions then it's safe.
This is the ultimate, the essence of exploration. Following the paths of true exporers into a once unknown. The anticipation is unexplainable! My next step in life is to get there, all the way from Australia to Mexico before the end of 2010. Can reccommend any great spots and diver centres who do this?
Im in Tulum right now diving at Xibalba dive centre with Robbie Schmittner, been here for 3 weeks diving, did my course here. Its the absolute shit dude, not looking forward to going back to Australia at all.
Just did a 2 stage cylinder dive today with 82 minutes penetration, its off its tits.
Just search for Robbie >Schmittner here on youtube or xibalba dive centre on google. They have a new hotel etc.
i watch this clip every day with out fail an is the reason i was put on this earth to some day dive this magical site could you tell me the depth on avarage

If it didn't have these gas cells it would be negatively buoyant; instead it is positively buoyant. Wet suits do not insulate, only dry suits.

Also, I'd like you to explain how cave-shrimps pose a serious threat to divers. I'm pretty sure they are completely harmless.

I think it's worth trying anyway.
Greetings from Acapulco, Mexico!!!

Robbie is a great bloke.

I've watched and listened to this several times the music really grabs you. It is all topped off by the happy face at the end. Is she a Cave angel? Truly awesome!
