  • Tony is much greater than Frank

  • @macacochip there both great but its hard to compare sinatra to bennett

  • super song - super sänger !!!

  • Tonys fantastic. Why compare him with others? No need. Just enjoy.

  • FANTASTIC SONG. GREAT PERFORMER.

  • scrolling on the bottom..... nothing but violence. shame.

  • @TheBruinsFan17 Yeah, I'm glad someone elae noticed the carnage being reported below the music. "The invasion and occupation of Iraq was the worst foreign policy blunder in US history" Gen.William Odom. RIP.

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • FFS did you people not read the words scrolling across the bottom of the screen, wake up!

  • Tony is a great singer and always has been.

    Imus is just a has-been.

  • I really liked his voice in the early 60's, up to about 66 or 67. Then I heard Sinatra, really listened to his voice and, this guy can't compare! I'm 66 now, and can't even listen to his voice anymore! Check out Frank's version of this, Bennett's isn't even a good copy!

  • @450984 I see your point completely! But i also like Bennett and accept him as an individual, not as a Sinatra impersonator.

  • @450984 both are great

  • Wow! You rock Tony!

  • Tony! Wait til our lips have met! and this is true the best is yet to come.

and speaking of -- there is a singer with an L.A. jazz band that has a warm and wonderful tone like Tony. ck him out. Sonny Moon

    search cinnamon doll jazz

  • Saw him in Denver in 1987, there were fewer than 100 people in the club: a dozen of us 20-somethings who drove out to see a legend and a bunch of people who knew him from the 50s-60s. He asked everyone to move to tables near the stage and had the lights shut off in the back of the room so he didn't have to look at empty tables. He put on a show and didn't hold back a note.

  • One of the top 10 things I want to do before I die is to see either Tony Bennett or Andy Williams live in concert, the last of the greats. I hope they'll remain with us for years to come so more generations will find out what good music really is...

  • tony? tony! TOOOOOOONYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY D;

  • Tony on IMUS what an awesome combo

  • Tony Bennett...fantastic!

  • I named my kid after him!

  • God put people for a resin

  • @jimd57 LOL idiot.

    Great song, great guy

  • If Frank Sinatra was a glass of top-shelf bourbon, Tony Bennett would be a bottle of Moet or Perrier-Jouet.

  • Always thought Tony was better than Frank....

  • the best is yet to come very true

  • If you want to talk about 'cool' well this guy invented it. Long before Elvis...

  • who the hell is the crazy cowboy in the beginning :P

  • I think about the title to michael jackson he said sometime the best is yet to come maybe he put the inspiration out this song ?:P

  • TONY BENNETT, An American Icon and Living legend, personified! I just can't get over how much I have enjoyed his music, as a young kid in the mid 60s, listening to my Dad as he played several Tony Bennett albums on a Saturday afternoon. Now I am doing the same thing, some 40+ years later...

  • Of the three crooners still alive, Andy Williams, Tony Bennett, and Vic

Damone, I would say that Tony's voice has remained the most images, but nevertheless all three were and are great.

  • Yes, some of us miss those days, when people had class.

  • Best 2 min. of this show's lifespan

  • Yes. This is Tony. The all-time-great. Love him.

  • he AINT no frank sinatra

  • @theironhorse22 Must be hard to live without brain.

  • @lukasnummer1 wow ur kool and VERY smart sarcasm... and plus this guy is gay

  • @theironhorse22 That makes no sense and I don´t want to waste my time with assholes like you.

  • Comment removed

  • @lukasnummer1 then dont talk to me and ur an queerbait that has no life

  • @theironhorse22 I have a life and i enjoy watching Tony Bennett ^^ - don´t watch it, when you don´t like it, stupid guy. Plus you´re wrong, Tony sings better than Sinatra.

  • @lukasnummer1 i just watched it to see wat it was and ur gay if u dont like sinatra he the best and nobody can beat him

  • @theironhorse22 Yes, agreed: I´m gay, if I don´t like Sinatra - I like him very much, but he´s overrated and Tony has more heartbreak in his voice, more charisma, he´s also Frank´s favorite singer!

  • @lukasnummer1 ok then

  • @theironhorse22 both of your opinions are meaningless. so stop arguing. the fact is their both legends!

  • @coyotewess exactly

  • @lukasnummer1 I quite agree with you!

  • @lukasnummer1 Why always compare in a rival way? Why can't people just enjoy both for what they are instead of mindlessly and uselessly comparing them on and on, what's the whole point of that? Just enjoy both of their unique styles and beautiful classy music..

  • @lukasnummer1 : Tony Bennett totally mesmerized the Philly crowd just 2 weeks

ago. Total class, elegance, joyfulness. His voice was full and powerful. The crowd

    went ballistic...multiple curtain calls. Simply sensational....National treasure....all

class.....at 83 or 84 he's simply unbelievable and without equal.

  • the best is yet to come is good advice to me!

  • What's a classy guy doing on this idiots show?

  • anyone else felt like throwing up after seeing this?!

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

the best is yet to come with class !

  • does anyone else think its absurd that a man dressed as a cowboy introduced this?

  • mmmmmmm, im not diggin it. :(

  • 'cept for 'GOOFY' with the 'NAPPY HAT!'

  • What a such amazing and handsome crooner !

  • When Tony Bennett came to town, you would find me in the audience for every performance. What can you say about Tony Bennett. How about extraordinary, classy, and one of the best American singers ever

  • i love the guy who introduces tony at the beginning. his voice is that of a black cowboy. aha oh yeah and mr bennett was good too :)

  • Someone please tell more great Jazz artist.

  • What is really great . Is the time of day they filnmed it ! Great day to skip school ! Same goes to the pretenders, petty etc. Some times you get cought and a lot of times lucky !! Thanks.

  • WOW this guy has class

  • These are the men who had class when class was the "in" thing.

  • Or when the word CLASS still existed in the English language as something unrelated to schooling.

  • @backinday And adult standards ruled in entertainment and society.

  • @backinday ..is very nice your comment.......I adore Tony Bennet.....my favorite is Fly me to the moon.......

  • Unbelievable he still sounds that good at his age...

  • wow~~~ love it

  • Yo Tony: You are soooo great. Love all your work. Great verve, phrasing and faultless selection of material Love ya guy. de Patrick T Durgin

Mr. Cool has 116,495 views as of Sunday July 5, 2009.

  • i remember dhose time

  • Respect!

  • wow like aged wine

  • they are both great singers compareing them is wrong

it just depends on what you like they both have there own style

  • Mr. Magic is back! The best after frank is tony.

  • I disagree! Tony is and always was the better singer! Frank ranks with Johnny Ray!

  • the news distracted me.. sadly

  • nothing like sinatra

  • Nope he's his own man.

  • sinatra once said tony bennett was the best in the business, so yea, nothing like sinatra

  • OF course nothing like sinatra nobody can compare to his legacy his music his love ,dreams and tony grew up in my town too i live in astoria and im more sinatra then bennett i just dont feel any rythm like sinatra when he sings you just feel like you want to hear more my favorite sinatra song is .. 'I Think of you' and "It's Over' "Strangers in the night " And last but not least "Good-bye" Dean martin is my 2nd favorite i love his voice and then elvis presley .. the king

  • Wonderful, as always.

  • But TONY is a ballad singer and with his voice, he makes Sinatra sound weak!

  • Supercapo Tony

  • espectacular =)

  • what a voice... he's body is getting old but his voice still in tune...

  • Haha, he was performing on Imus? Imus is such a nappy-headed ho =P Haha, I love ya Tony!

  • Imus a nappy headed ho-you had me fallin' off of my chair from laughter. Peace!

  • You can't beat the originals which is why Frank Sinatra and Tony undoubtedly perform the best versions of this song, I like Buble; but nonetheless he's no Sinatra or Bennett, just a very convincing imitation. I agree with KFCHambone, the song is much better with a slower tempo, the best version is performed by Tony and Diane Krall on his duets album.

  • God is, just like money, made out of thin air. Therefore, I bless you, Tony! You've got my outmost respect.

  • hes really good (showed at macworld 09)

  • God bless you Tony...

  • Except this was written 40 years ago.

  • Really?? Thanks for the info, pal.

OBVIOUSLY STP would have been influenced by legends like Tony Bennett. And OBVIOUSLY this song is older...

I am a musician and I KNOW that the notes are very similar so to those who gave me the thumbs down...whatever. I like both songs-go get a life.

  • It's not the same notes, it's bare the same time sig and it's definitely a different key.

I don't know what kind of musician you are but playing Air Guitar really doesn't count.

  • Again, as YOU obviously know nothing about music, similar rhythms can be played in different keys...this isn't a very hard concept to get...if it bothers you so much, listen to STP's version of sex type thing "unplugged."

Also, your need to be rude clearly demonstrates your lack of manners and wit.

P.S., Again, for the last person, pointing out that Tony Bennett wrote songs before STP is like pointing out that the 60's came before the 90's...thanks for the info, Captain Obvious.

  • That's why I don't understand why it wasn't obvious to you.

  • Okay, I am one, a huge sinatra, bennett, rat pack lover (older jazz, big band music). Im also a professional Vibaphone player (percussionist), and play this song very regularyly. Its is nothing like STP's Sex type thing. For one you cant not compare heavy rock to Jazz, they clash, and they sound nothing like each other. Jazz is all about improvisation, making up the notes as you go along. I think you are just an STP Freak.

  • Type in STP Sex type Thing Unplugged and you will hear the similarity. It will take you all of 2 minutes. And, being a 'professional' musician', whatever that means, you will be sure to get it, don't you think?

  • Don't you mean Vibraphone?

  • man you are the best, its ur songs that keeps me sane in this crazy wonderfull world

  • I'm 14 but I love this kind of music.

But it's hard to find some friends with same taste with me ...

  • Could Sinatra sing at nearly 80 years old after performing 250 gigs a year? ....

  • I like Sinatras version of this song better. It's a slower tempo. I love both Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. It's tough today being only 20 years old and loving this type of music. To me, this is music, I respect the rap and hip-hop but damn, thats not what moves me. I like the CD with Tony Bennett and Buble doing duets. Awesome cd.

  • I like Frank and Tony`s versions best. Buble does an excellent job but, Frank and Tony do it better especially Tony`s earlier version.

Great song when performed by Frank, Tony and Mike.

  • My winner is hope to play for you someday, all ready play for Frank, Jerry, Paul Anka, De Grees, Lionel Hampton, Sergio Mendes, Jovin, Charlie Bird, Tommy Dorsey new band,

Tito Puente, Jorge Santana, Clark Fisher, Pete Candoli, y wiil see you very very soon, this is my hope peluzzas :) drums :)

  • There's a certain way to sing this song that makes it great. It's that coy way Sinatra used to sing it; like he was really singing it to a particular girl. Bennet doesn't do it-- neither does Buble; it's just not up to par.

  • You couldn't be more right...

  • Tony Bennett - amazing voice. he did great with this song.

  • hahahah read the words at the bottom i think is reall yfunny

  • No baloney Tony, you picked some very good musicians.

  • He sounds good, but I still like the instrumentation/slower tempo in the Sinatra version.

  • i like buble's cover alot.

  • Great song by a truly ledgenary artist.

  • I'm a little unclear as to who did vernasca's favourite version.

  • This a great version of the song but I still think that frank sinatra's version of this song is the best

  • This a great version of the song but I still think that frank sinatra's version of this song is the best

  • This a great version of the song but I still think that frank sinatra's version of this song is the best

  • my husband and I love this song because the best is yet to come. he definitely sounds better tan frank...

  • i love him to deathhh

  • not as good as James Darren and Avery Brooks

  • I disagree, that version is slow comparatively.

  • "out of the tree of life!"

  • Antonio Benedetto is the best cause he always swings... with always fresh angles.. on the old standards..yeah man!!

  • I miss Imus.

  • you would

  • Why would you say that? You do not even know me!

  • hey dont diss sinatra they are both best

  • When Tony is singing the best has arrived.

  • Still these live performances Imus brought to his show were great.

  • man tony is the best!

those news headlines at the bottom of the screen were really annoying cause its such a happy song, but the headlines were about nuclear testing, bombs and deprssing shit:(

  • ha, this is real harmony, irony.

  • Forget Frank Sinatra ...Mr.Bennett is the one and the only man!

  • who is singing who's song?

  • Forget the Chairman?! Get A Life!

  • I completely agree! But Sinatra said it in 1965! TONY is the best!

  • This is one of the few songs that Tony did a better version than Frank. it happen occasionaly.

  • i forget is he jazz what?

  • Good -- love the SCTV version best, though!
