Although I use DXM and Magic Mushrooms together so I guess if that was discovered in a study my body just innately new what was right for it :-). Also, to this day I've always swore mushrooms helped pull me out of depression during adolescence... it's nice to see psilocilin is now being researched for uses in depression of the terminally ill and returning soldiers with PTSD.
DMT/psilocilin also mediate repair of a key neuro receptor that is damaged by dissociateves like ketamine and dxm. I can't recall which... it's either NMDA or 5HTxx receptor. Look it up if curious.

@mindexplorer01 DXM in relatively low (yet effective) doses (less than a gram) has not been proven to cause brain damage. Although I use DXM and Magic Mushrooms together so I guess if that was discovered in a study my body just innately new what was right for it :-). The psychedelic experience is truly an amazing tool for self-exploration and development. I know it has drastically changed my life for the better and brought clarity on so many questions I have asked myself. Happy tripping!

While drugs, even psychedelics, do not necessarily cause mental problems, they certainly can potentiate it. This part always causes debate. To date, there's no evidence that it could potentiate via biological means. Instead, it's a psychological thing. Christianity halted science from the public thus putting us in the dark ages of technology. If the church never went against science we would be MUCH more advanced. It is such a shame that this is such a strong chemical in the brain, right when it ends other parts of the brain try to shut it out and make you forget. Just like a dream, as soon as your feet hit the floor you (most of the time) forget your dreams. It is the same as DMT (which is the same chemical the makes us dream so comparing the two is justifiable) I remember things from the experience, such as experiencing the most love I ever felt. When I restarted firefox after I had saved and quit.. this video automatically replayed and I wasn't aware. At the same time, I was listening to the song by Bright Eyes called Happy Birthday to me (Feb.15) and it sounded soo fucking trippy. The bible tells you what you believe it does. DMT and any other experience is no different. What is real about this reality compared to a dream which is may seem more real than reality? You can realise the same things without drugs, everyone percieves differently. Weed/LSD/dmt/etc etc helps, but doing it without in my opinion is more rewarding and revealing.
