I just bought one of these online 5 minutes ago just from hearing this and the Steve Vai For The Love Of God cover that you did.I can hardly wait till it arrives in a couple of days! Boy,I sure hope I don't get hit by a bus tomorrow.then I'll never get to try it out! Lol!
amazing tone, expecially considering the non Fender amp, totally digital modelling, and definitely not a Strat ! Good job....though you do look like you are stuck in a silent movie
@mfx999 it depends on what u're lookin for in an amp. if u're lookin for a lot of amp models in one amp, lots of effects, tuner, booster,... etc, u probably want to check out the roland cubes, but if u prefer a nice inexpensive original transistor amp, with some nice tube-like tones (transtube technology), where u will eventually plug other pedals/effects later, this is probably the best amp u can get...
it's probably for the spring reverb, last time i took one of these apart it had a spring reverb unit, i'm assuming the new version does too. Damping will usually apply a subtle low-pass filter to the reverberated signal and in some cases change the sustain and decay of the wet reverb signal in order to create a darker denser sound with a tight diffusion. As for what the damping switch actually definitely does on this amp, i can't say for sure as I don't own one.
@alexander257 The dampening factor seems to cut the low-end of the sound making it a bit more suitable to use in a room also making it a bit more quiet (in my opinion).
I think it also functions as a means to adjust the depth of tube emulation (at least this is what other transistor amps like Marshall MG use this term for).
but I would like to know a question about the valves ... that is visible both when they are connected? or ... they are bright as the picture on the website of the zoom? they increase and decrease the intensity of light when the move Knobs?
the valves of my zoom I think it not clear as they should .. are crush .. or are anyway?
I have a peavey bandit 112 just like you, and i read in the manual that he has got a power amp in jack, but, now, i'm going to have the zoom g9 about a week, and i am thinken, where i should put him in?? in the front like a guitar, or maybe in the "power amp in" jack? But than i can't control the volume... or in the effects loop send/return??
can you tell me how you put your zoom straight on it??
i thought valves/tubes were a product of technology? Last time i checked they didnt grow on trees. All of the hype around tubes/valves is just hype. Its what comes out of your hands and heart that matters the most, not what you plug your guitar into.
destroyer1of1senses - you should read up a bit on the peddle before you go off about tone and digital algorithums - it carries not one, but two tubes to warm the sound.
That's what I was afraid of. I'm looking for a small practice amp to possibly play small gigs with, but I'm going to be recording the songs with an old Fender Twin with the Reverb cranked up to about 8, so I'll probably have to buy a reverb pedal just to make it sound remotely close to the tone on the album. (Before someone comments, I realize that a Peavey won't sound like a Fender, but I don't feel like carrying a huge amp for crowds of about 20)
oye la caga fea!!!! loko, tokai como el hoyo, yo tengo la zoom g9 2tt y tiene un patch de hendrix y sale igual no se de donde sacaste ke esa wea suena bien superate loko chau

@fattyowels Damping refers to the speaker damping, and changes the bass response. A.K.A resonance.

is this better than roland cube80x?

Great playing, however the vintage film effect is a bit cliched and fake-looking.

Hi guys I also have a Bandit 112 and don't know what damping is for but ... there is a slightly change on tone when I use it. Not much however.
ibek1200 2 years ago
me too, nothing seems to change on tone.

I am contemplating getting a bandit 112 but I don't get this whole transtube thing. Does it have a tube or not?
zeppelinman68 3 years ago
Basically, No. It's a transistor amp that's specially designed to sound like a tube, but it's not a physical tube.
It's a great amp, one of the best solid states around.

Alexander,
Hey you got a band together or do you mulitrack and play everything yourself?
I am interesting in hearing some of your orginal compositions.

This guy sounds better than Stevie.
Hats off to him, but credit to Jimi Hendrix for the original composition and performance.

Digital music sucks. Its completely lifeless and it annihilates all your guitar tone by processing it through digital algorithms.

@destroyer101senses
you think this is an example of a bad tone?
you're absolutely insane.
TheExtremist777 3 years ago 3
Excuse me but i'm comparing it to a tube amp whos tone isnt as try or digital
Gyro911 3 years ago
@Gyro911
Some digital/SS tone is horrible, I know. But this is one of the examples where the tone is quite good. Passable at the -very- least.
True tube amp tone is better I agree, but this does sound good.
TheExtremist777 3 years ago 2
That's a great pedal! i just ordered one and i was wondering if you knew where i could get any presets?

Is the reverb from the Zoom or the Peavey Bandit, itself?

it's from the zoom, reverb of peavey is too small.
