Ison Aircraft makes several models that qualify as an Ultralight, this particular aircraft is a bit too heavy so it's an N-Numbered aircraft requiring at minimum in the U.S. a Sport Pilot license.
Ya know this plane makes me love and hate ultralight style a/c..firstly, I love it for its slow speed and size. its enjoyable and simple..and secondly i hate it for its fragile design and limited margin of error, but thats about it.
The builder of this particular aircraft made some minor improvements. I have really enjoyed owning and flying this airplane. I'm a bit big for it (I'm 6'2"), but it's still a kick in the pants.
It's got the Rotax 503 on it. It's got an aftermarket coolscoop from California Power as well as custom variable timing ignition from Airscrew Performance
Im sorry, whats the engine? 447 im guessing? also whats the max speed?

Is it a fairly agile plane for what it is? speeds? and length of runway for takeoff and landing?
marblehamburger 2 years ago
very agile! 70MPH cruise speed. If I'm trying I can get off the ground in calm winds in about 150 feet, landing to a full stop in 300 feet or so.
