@drbringit this fight was more competitive then people want to believe. FM was landing the straight right but I like VO right hook inside, and the straight left. FM landed to the head but VO landed some terrific body punches. VO's traner had mentioned FM's illegal use of elbows and I felt the ref did nothing to warn FM even tho it was clear he ws using them. Round 3 Mayweather
Round 4 Mayweather wins the first 1 min. Victor wins the 2nd half of the round. Ortiz got Mayweather CLEANLY with some hard punches. At this point, Mayweather seems to be rather sluggish. Then the headbutt.
I believe this fight was RIGGED. There are so many signs pointing to this. This could have been a very interesting fight given Ortiz's power.

@yshakur25 Floyd was not winning the fight EASY. Floyd did throws some good combinations in the 4th round, however, it was Ortiz that was really landing the power punches in the end of round 4, prior to the headbutt. Mayweather pretended not to be hurt, but he was.
If round 4 was to end prior to the headbutt, i would have given the round to Ortiz.

A rematch? I don't think there's any need for that. This was a one-sided fight from the beginning and I think it would be even worse in the rematch. The ref did motion them to restart but I think Ortiz had quit mentally and didn't want to fight anymore (i think the punches were starting to get to him) and would have spent the entire evening apologising. Yes, it was legal, but definitely not expected from a "finesse" fighter. I, along with millions of other Boxing fans are disappointed with the outcome of this fight. Although I do feel Floyd was going to eventually KO Ortiz, I still feel robbed. I'll take Tyson's 1st round, 30 second KO over Floyd's sucker punch KO any day.

@touchtone101: To me, it has nothing to do with being cocky, confident, rich, black, and dominating. Floyd puts himself above the sport of Boxing. He has a "god complex" in Boxing and believes he is the face of Boxing. I don't appreciate that at all. I appreciate Floyd's Boxing skills, but find it quite frustrating that nobody that he has fought has given him a genuine challenge. Remember, Floyd is as calculated outside the ring as he is inside the ring. Is he that great, or just calculated?

Poor analysis! IMO, Ortiz headbutt setup everything. Then he was apologetic to Floyd, left punched by Floyd but wasn't hard, Ortiz look at the referee, referee wasn't looking, Ortiz with both hands down was waiting for Floyd to punch him. Floyd punch Ortiz with a right hand. Ortiz was down and counted out by the ref. Obviously Ortiz was paid double or triple by Mayweather to lose waiting for that 2nd punch. It seems that he was expecting it to happen. Fight was obviously scripted.

i don't think a rematch is necessary. Love him, hate em' or hate to love em'. Floyd showed his dominance in this fight with young Ortiz. We fans don't have anything to gain by another Mayweather Ortiz fight. The only one that does gain anything is Ortiz with a huge payday win or lose. Personally i rather see Berto fight Ortiz again or even Berto Mayweather, if Floyd is still scared to fight Manny.
With this fight Mayweather was in classic form. Playing the point game perfectly.

I honestly loved the fight but I knew that the head butt would be the end of Ortiz somehow because Mayweahter is one of those fighters that will punish you for doing something like that. I was at a sports bar and when Floyd knocked out Ortiz their was defining cheers I am with you though I think Floyd thought Ortiz had a stronger jaw than that.
