  • Top Job, those guys made some tough bass lines.

  • and the great about this video is that it seems like you barely give a fuck about what you're doing... just like John.

  • @MrHellothisisme

    That's what I should, aight? ;)

  • Great cover, glad you put this on youtube. Thanks for sharing.

  • what!!!!!!! I've only just seen this!

  • I have that exact Rick.. I am very lucky to have it!!

  • brilliant cover mate, thank you for sharing it with us

  • you suck dick

  • @xDucky26x Why? because he's better than you?

  • Goeie sound man. grtz squire bgf.nl

  • Thank you for all of the kind replies!

  • Wish I could play this as well as you. I'm not talented enough to tab it out by ear and i can't find a tab that seems accurate more than 50% of the time:(

  • DUDE! - you've completely missed out the little bass riff at the start of the whole thing, Entwistle only ever played the big guitar note in the studio, never live on stage.. someone else played it, Entwistle did the freakin' amazing bass riff.

  • @Josh1Joshua1 Check the Isle of Wight, live and you'll see.

  • @Josh1Joshua1 No. Pete played those notes on the album with an elecrtic guitar, Entwistle did it live.

  • nice!

  • fuck me, absolutley amazing. how long have you been playing?

one day i wanna be as good as that.. ive been playing a year and im doing pretty good for myself i think.. but nowhere near that, your a challange for even entwhistle himself id say.

  • @CUNProductions

At that time I was playing for about three years. Thanks for the reply! It's a big compliment to say that I would be a challenge for even Entwistle himself!

  • @rawk335

    No, should I?

  • @tjoepatjoep

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tjoepatjoep So you're not using the Ric-O-Sound jack? Because that's what he means by stereo.

  • @CorvetteCoonass

I'm sorry guys. I was using that Ric-O-Sound. The bass pickup runs through the Hartke Stack and the treble pickup ran through the H&K guitar amp.

  • JOEP!!! Doe het geluid wat harder man!

  • How much was your bass? Can you tell me about the feel and stuff because I might pick one up this year.

  • @SteveShivik

Mine was pretty cheap, but if you find a little more expensive one, BUY IT! Rickenbackers ROCK!

  • @tjoepatjoep I really hope I get one. I love the tone!!!!!!!!!

  • @tjoepatjoep Rickenburgers are never cheap mannnnnn! we are paying for the qualitty. every single penny. penny by penny..all goes to the quality

  • @stingray614 Haha, i know, but i got mine pretty cheap... haha

  • @tjoepatjoep and if you don't mind me asking, how much exactly did you have to pay for yours?

  • @stingray614

    1350 euro's...

  • siick ass bass.

  • Looks like you are getting the Ox's thunderfingers down right. Keep up the good work! It's great to see the younger generation appreciate music from my generation.

  • HOLY SHIT... im lmfao cause this is amazing

  • @LongLiveWho

Is that a good thing...? ;)

  • @tjoepatjoep yeah cause u were playing the electric guitar part in it and then all of a sudden u beast it out haha

  • Awesome job man.

  • great finger work

  • good finger work turn it uppp

  • dude it's a rickenbacker those things cannot sound the same.

  • That's a '78 Ricky?

  • Yes, completely true!

  • dude, i got mine this year and its already getting dinged! yous looks like its brand new!

  • mine a 78 too and it looks like it just came out out of the shop

  • good job.

so did you actually use the rick-o-sound and split the channels? i'm having a hard time telling with The Who in the background.

    sweet bass too.

  • Yup, that's true! Bass pickup runs through Hartke Amp and treble pickup runs through H&K!

  • it would be coo' to see/hear a couple of videos using Rick-o-sound without backing tracks. I've always wanted to hear the isolation, but can't seem to find a shop that is willing to go to the trouble...

    nice playing

  • You've got a Gibson AND a Rickenbacker. Sometimes I feel as if I should cry. *snivels in jealousy*

  • All i can say is: live your dream! Buy it!

  • I've been saving for months. As soon as I buy one or the other, I'll let you know.

  • You gotta make more vids using this bass, it simply sounds unbelievable.

  • Thank you! There's more to come!

  • Very nice sound. All I need is a Rickenbacker 4001 to get "my tone", I already have a Tech21 Sansamp. I played my friends 4001 on my Tech21, and it was spot on the Entwistle, Squire, Lee tone. I even took out the capacitor so he could get the full tone bridge pickup. And I must say, THERE NO NEED FOR TEH NECK PICKUP WHEN YOU TAKE THAT CAP OUT, JESUS THAT PICKUP IS LOUD! When I get my 4001, I'm putting a push/pull pot so i can use the cap whenever I want to.

  • Sounds like you are having a 4003, 'cause the oldskool 4001 don't have pull/push pots...as far as i know...

But you're right.. these basses are f*cking great for playing classic rock!

  • Well, I said when I do get me a 4001, I'm putting a push/pull pot on it, so I can utilize the capacitor whenever I like to. 4003s are ok, but I still prefer pre-81' 4001s.

  • I can get pretty damn close to Entwistle's tone with the 4003 even without the capacitor. Just needs a little bit of distortion and neck PUP action. Those isolated bass vids help nail it down.

Great videos. 5/5 for the tone alone.

  • pretty nice :)
