ya i am a fanboy. i tend to go with the brand that doesn't burn out after its first year of life. Anywho, my understanding is it goes from l1 to l2 to l3. L2 and L1 can drop threads that can be retrieved from the L3 cache and then L1 and L2 save those threads for quciker access. So if after a while L3 has a cache hit and stores on L1 and L2, L1 and L2 can save that thread until they don't need it atm but L3 will still have that particular thread stored. Anywho a 8MB > 6MB cache

@adolf512 ya they also didn't make their cache weaker than intels ballsy 8mb l3 cache because its "a smart thing to do" Every other L cache is set 8 ways, seeing as intel's caches usuall hit between the first 2 cache's the fact that intel has made a much larger l3 cache is nothing more than a testament to them pounding the poor mans processor into the ground, doesn't matter how many ways your cache's go, if you ain't go size you ain't got shit
their cache is not weaker sine the intel cache is mirrored. if something is stored in the l1 cache it also has to be stored in the l2 and l3 cache, so if you know how cache works and know how to add numbers you notice that phenom II x4 and x4 has MORE cache in reality than i5 750 and i7 920.
@adolf512 anywho can't blame intel for wanting to wipe the shit, that is AMD, off the asscheeks of the modern computing world. Can your proc's adjust freq based on demand? didn't think so. Have fun needing L2N to get your X4's even close to 4 ghz
@OutInTheRain1 intel got fines 1.5 billion for paying companies TO NOT USE AMD. and yes my cpu underclocks itself when it dosn´t need the power. i overclocked the cpu 200MHZ(with 15$ air cooler) to compensate for no turbo mode. if you wan´t turbo you should go with phenom x6..
and no my cpu hasn´t burnet yet sinse it underclocks itself if the temperature goes over 77c.
if you have 2 SSD:s/HDD:s in raid 1 you don´t get twise as mutch storage..
@adolf512 amd also overheats twice as hard vs intel cpu which is why you can take a 50$ aftermarket air cooler onto one of the bad boys and reach a highly stable 4G overclock. You get what you pay for with AMD and the day i buy a 200 6 core proc is the day I buy an opal for its high resale value

@almost1123 turbo boost will just make the cpu enen moore unstable.
amd uses less energy clock for clock than intel, and try to clock a intel cpu in 4 GHZ stable - > > fail. and you will never get stable performance.
i7 920 is good but it can´t beat amd:s love prisis.
