  • HD My Ass. -_-

  • I believe I can fly~~~~!

  • If you focus on it,it kinda looks like a mutated human!

  • We need science or I and + all of subers will leave by the end of the month.Get your shit together NS.

  • MORE!

  • stupid eagle. you made a plane crash on the hudson!

  • OMG EAGLES CAN FLY?

  • And the science on this is?

  • tis has nothing to do with science. Great vid but not what i subscribed for.

  • OMG eagles fly?!

actually thought it said eagle walking.. never would have guessed they flew!

its probably fake so gets your hopes high :'(

no but seriously..whats the point of this? :p

    cool vid btw.

  • omg. it's SOOOOOOOOOO my first time seeing one fly.

I've seen birds fly..but eagles? ..my gooosh

  • FAKE!!!

  • Amezing!

I did not realise robotics went so much forward!!

What?... Wha.... An eagle? Like, eagle 606? Wha??... Just normal eagle? Organic one? You mean nanotechnology? What?... An animal? A bird? Normal bird?

    Whaa..t..?????!!?!?!!!!

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....

  • what is the point???

    fail

  • yes, that was very informative NEW science ... wow, thanks newscientist!

  • Even science needs its filler moments

  • They are gonna use these eagles to count the chinese in their great census.

  • THIS IS NOT GONNA HELP CURE CANCER FFS!!!

  • Will they use these new eagles to help people in earthquakes?

  • my monitor doesn't support so HIGH definition fotages :/

  • @StuartLittleJr HIgh Def needs more time for youtube itsels to progress before it shows up... its how youtube works...

  • @rionsic

Yeah, but after one freakin day it should've been up long time ago! There is no hd on this video...

  • @fuunguus I guess u r right... :)

  • this makes me want to make a montage of random things in slow motion just to make fun of this video

  • Wow I never they could fly, thanks science, now we know.

  • so beautiful

  • beautiful bird right there.

  • Wow, newscientist sucks nowadays.

  • @ALAPAT1 I'm beginning to think that as well...

  • Isn't this what the Discovery Channel does?

  • uuuuuhh what?

  • interesting?

  • looks like a sad slave eagle

  • Everyone is missing the most interesting aspect... Eagles grow mysterious straps from their talons! I wonder what evolutionary purpose these serve?

  • i have just decided that if an eagle ever flew towards me...... i'd shit my pants.

  • This channel is fucking baffling

  • I wanna fly like an eagle... let my spirit carry me

  • cooool

  • that wasn't high definition at all...

  • Awesome, but he's a scruffy looking bird, heh ^^

  • There are people out there dying of AIDS and CANCER right now, and we're watching a video of a bird flying, as if it's of great importance.

Please do argue with me that this is somehow useful or new. Those newfangled birds with their flying and their wings... we should research them for better ways to fly or something. Or perhaps this videos purpose will only be seen centuries from now.

    Science works in mysterious ways.

Please do argue with me that this is somehow useful or new. Those newfangled comments with their words and their opinions... we should research them for better ways to whine or something. Or perhaps this comments purpose will only be seen centuries from now.

  • @Edd360 There are people out there dying of AIDS and CANCER right now, and you're replying a persons comment, arguing online, as if it's of great importance.

Please do argue with me that this is somehow useful or new. Those newfangled online arguers with their baseless arguments/pseudo intellectualism/ad hominem... we should research them for better ways to anti troll. Or perhaps this comments purpose will only be seen centuries from now!

Pic related, it's me and my bitch.

  • @tw1stedgrudge You sir, are as dumb as a rock.

  • @V1nd3x You sir, ARE a rock. Get your head around *that* one.

  • @tw1stedgrudge You sir, ARE. Where's your god now?

  • @V1nd3x In da basement. Lololol. :B I see flying eagles, therefore I am... Not learning anything!

  • Comment removed

  • @tw1stedgrudge Get a doctors degree and find the cure for AIDS. I'll bow for you then.

  • @in5secs > implying the cure for AIDS will only be found by someone with a doctors degree.

  • @tw1stedgrudge

Please stop trolling on every NS video. It's getting tedious.

  • @tw1stedgrudge People with a doctors degree have easier access to labs and funds to build up such a huge research. You won't see someone with a bachelors degree finding the cure for cancers. Unless they are some rare exception.

  • @in5secs Fun fact: Many scientific discoveries are made in the basements of hobbyists and individual researchers. I wouldn't classify anyone out of any discovery. Someone, somewhere, might come up with something ultimately groundbreaking an hour from now. Infact, I'll wager most are, they just don't happen to state as such on Fox News, so you probably don't hear about it or whatever, I suppose. Most people don't. : (

  • @tw1stedgrudge Are you going to tell me somewhere, in the future, some geek locked in a basement is going to find the cure for aids by making experiments with fast food coca-cola? I doubt that. Curing something like AIDS takes lots and lots of resources, it's not something you stumble upon in a domestic scientific experiment.

  • @in5secs Perhaps not. Perhaps during a routine observation or study. Perhaps while someone is camping. Perhaps some logger finds a special plant in the amazon rainforest while he's aiding its destruction. Anything can happen from anywhere, and none of us can say for sure from where. Money and funding can't do everything. Take a look at the truly abominable British NHS and the unspeakable amount of money poured into it for a prime example of how money doesnt always work.

  • @tw1stedgrudge I agree on that. But you have to agree that even if they find out something... they would need funding to carry the investigation on.

  • @in5secs Would depend what "carrying the investigation on" entails, as well as the discovery. Could be a simple patent and straight to market. Might need group testing. Might need labwork of some extent, which can either be domestic or coorporate. Personally if I discovered something, I wouldn't hand it over to anyone. I would find ways to research things myself. Credit is taken all too swiftly nowadays, and patents are a shambles.

  • Josh is Gay...

  • oh my god ITS SLOW MOTION

  • okay seriously... whats up with newscientistvideo? lately you only post very strange and frankly unscientific (or at least nothing up-to-date interesting) stuff =/

  • @LogicOfLife90 agreed... =P

  • And the eagle will fly and it's gonna be hell,

When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell.

  • lol 360p? whats that ? VCD quality? last time i remember 489p was dvd and 720p was HD along with 1080

  • highdef footage in 360p! :D

  • @quadstrike high def footage compressed back to low def

  • @meadowsirl and then still presented as "high def"

  • @quadstrike just walk 10 meters away from your laptop and it will look the same

  • @meadowsirl same as if you recorded it at 360p lol

  • @UniqueleyCrazy turn on national geographic channel , you'll get to see this more often.

  • @outlawkelb Omg Ty so much I never knew

  • Next time, throw some meat at it....

  • Too short!

  • What next? Walking dogs?

  • @3kToT Imagine swimming fish.... I mean like... seriously??? a swimming fish?!?

  • After reports and illusions, newscientistvideo trys with slow motions.

  • @xProNova It must be a slow news month on the science front.

  • @Nexus974 i feel like i have come away a better person after watching this video.

  • I like turtles. And eagles too! : )

  • This proves, Indisputably... That birds use Wings to fly....... How interesting.

  • Millions of years of evolution, and that thing can't open a door.

  • @Nades129 Millions of years of evolution, and you can't fly. Your point?

  • @XianL Airplane biatch

  • @Nades129 A man-made construct is hardly a part of our physical evolution XD

  • @Nades129

It probably coulde if it had a more developed brain. It pretty much has hands, and the back talon serves as an opposable thumb.

  • my fav bird brain :P

  • Is this all you got now NewScientist? Slow-mo vids?

    C'mon!!

  • Eagles can fly??!??!

  • @w1ldrange tell me you're joking and not retarded?

  • @GlobalModders duh.. definition of humour..??

  • @w1ldrange they can :<

  • @w1ldrange INCREDIBLE ISN'T IT?!

    WOOO

    WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!

  • @w1ldrange HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • watch in high definition footage... and it's only 360p -.-

  • @nicknack300 High Definition is not necessarily High Resolution. You can have a crappy 1080p and a very crisp, clean pixels, in 360p, 480p etc. The two are too often mixed up

  • that is one ugly bird

  • meh

  • mmmm tastes like liberty

  • @RealKeenan Exactly. Especially with those bonds on its legs :)

  • @barakuda1111 how else are you going to catch and eat it?

  • beautiful

  • cool

  • that is so cool
