  • 2 minutes just for a flippin' sea star?! Pun intented.

  • Hey its Patrick taking a tan

  • Which pokemon is that?

  • That star fish moves faster than my grandma XD

  • I was expecting a backflip or something :(

  • Sea Star: Ok, thats enough tanning on my back, now for my front. *slowly turns over* Ahh, there we......WHEN THE FUCK DID YOU PEOPLE GET HERE?!

  • sounds like sg people lol

  • You should have made a timelapse :B

  • that one sea star was like "it's raeping time!" but you moved it and it was like >:(

j/k i know that's not how sea stars reproduce

  • OMG, HAVE I WAITED 2 AND A HALF MINUT FOR THAT?! :O

  • SpoiltforChoice, Sea Stars in the Echinodermata phylum are closely related to Vertebrates in the Chordata phylum.

  • That's so cool how a sea star can do that.

Anyways, I'm learning about invertebrates in biology right now and I just read about echinoderms (the phylum sea stars belong in).

It says sea stars can change from being a rigid structure, like when you were picking them up, to a flexible one because of it's endoskeleton which is made p of plates. The plates are connected by soft tissue and muscle so when the muscles contract it becomes rigid.

Yeah, just thought you should know that.

    :D

  • Thank you for sharing. I didn't know that and it's interesting how it can be rigid one minute yet so flexible the next. Very cool!

  • Yes yes, I swear we left the lil fella where we found it. We were very fortunate to be able to observe the flipping over and hope that this video is enough and that there's no need to flip any sea star anymore...

  • People who think this is creepy looking are wimps and can't appreciate the awesomenes of such a unique animal. Fuko Ibuki would not be pleased with these comments. :)

Nontheless I find this fascinating. Good for the starfish!

  • yea, I dont know much about these interesting animals, but indeed, if anyone is scared of a starfish they need to go out more and observe things more carefully..

  • Yeah Star fish should be left alone....unless you see one where there is no way they can help themselves. They can take care of them selfves....or else they would be extinct.

  • but thanks nonetheless! it was very helpful

  • eoh it's nasty how slow it moves wish there could've been a fast forward button

  • Poor thing why don't thy help it? I know it's creepy looking but come on it's helpless.

  • We were actually told by the guide to not touch the sea star where possible cuz it stresses them out even further. And let it flip over at it's own pace. Plus video taping was meant for school use so that kids can see the sea star flipping over without doing it themselves so that the lil fellas won't get stressed out when in contact with humans.

  • But wait...what about thse other ones being moved around? Were they fake or something?

  • wow that was cool it was sort of like watching an old person sit up

  • @copperheadfree lol man, lol
