  • I think Tim, Matt, Stu, and Rob Halford should get together and sing a song. It will be called, Power Metal Orgy Fest.

  • I'm a huge Barlow fan but i've never heard a time when Ripper sounded bad on a song, Brilliant vocal lines, tone, control, he just has it all.

  • I love how much the bass guitar came through in this.

  • I miss him. :/

  • 4:19.....;)

  • john Shaffer Knew that Matt Barlow wouldn't tour when he brought him back. Barlow said in interviews that he was only going to play very limited festival shows.

  • This is certainly better the 10,000 strong at Wacken!

  • Pretty good, though the chorus lacks a bit, but it's not like they had a choir behind them, so it's understandable.

  • Niu bi

  • Iced Earth are the best Barlow, The Ripper, It doesn`t matters

  • Iced Earth rules!!!! And how the hell do I get a metalhead tv in the U.S. of freakin A???

  • Iced Earth + Ripper, epic formation! Nice to hear Ripper screaming

  • Ripper is AMAZING the chosen one! This voice is truly the best of galactic! Who thinks it's not thruth is a loosssssseerrr!!! hahahaha crazy shitholes!:)

  • matt is the only one !!!!

  • Ripper - Barlow - Greely

    I don't give a FUCK!

    Iced Earth forever!!! \m/

  • tim great but pails in comparison to MATT barlow for life

  • I believe in a God and his name is Ripper!

  • @Wyndrax fukin eh!

  • ripper !!!!

  • Ripper is better than any other scrub they run out there on lead vocals

  • im going next year!!! :D :D: D:

  • got random chills when he said "its called a charge to keep"

  • that sounds gay...

  • that was for fatherovterror666 BTW--'random chills'??? Gay. Ripper is good--but he's not good enough to give me 'chills'--sorry. I prefer Matt Barlow--a much more original sounding voice. He gave ICED EARTH their identity--during the Ripper era they just sounded like another PRIEST wanna be band...

  • Actually, you sound more gay than the guy you were commenting on. No offence ofcourse ;)

  • With a screen name like 'killdevilhill' you would know about 'gayness' for damn sure--no offense of course...

  • think again about something betten mister "zillaman"... rofl

  • Better*

  • why waste more of my time on you--your obviously a 'Ripper' Owens fanatic!

  • and you're gay xD

  • @ 'killdevilhill'--like I said--takes one to know one ya Pickle Chugger...now get the dildo outta your arse!

  • Masterpiece.

  • harika ya

  • MY GOD!!! WHAT'S THAT INCREDIBLE VOICE?! wow!! 5/5

  • Most killer solo ever written.

  • Thia tune changed my life....no shit....give up the bullshit...go straight and make it happen....our own lives..one chance...our only {insert song title here).....fuck . what else can I say. Thanks everyone. For all your comments...

  • Metal can change lives. It changed mine too.

  • True emotion!

  • Framing Armageddon

  • from what album is it this song?

  • Framing Armageddon

  • what a fucking awesome voice...

  • @hideouswhelp what a fucking awesome bass...

  • ALIVE IN ATHENS FOREVER!!!

  • his vocals arent as good live as barlow's is.

  • Ripper has an amazing voice but he never could replace Barlow... nor Halford, IMO Iced Earth must be heard with Barlow on vocals, Its just about the feeling Barlow has...i.e. the athens show...

  • i really dont like barlow (is a greatr singer)

    but i prefier ripper

    thats all

    good song and performance

    c u

  • this was a great performance by ripper

  • I hope that Iced Earth Comes back on Wacken this year!!!

  • my favourite singer is matt but tim owens kicks ass too, he's an amazing singer and waaay above the average singers in metal, and this is a great perfomance of a song made for him(it's in fact one of those few I prefer done by him )

people shouldn't hate one or the other, why do it when you can listen to both?you can like on over the other but you cant deny truth saying that one sucks, neither of them do.

    peace,metalheads.

btw great quality and 5 stars

  • agree 100% with you dude

  • @SpawnRevenge92 Barlow is Good but Ripper Is The Best Hands Down'' Ever in any Style of this singing better then rob halford''' not as a song writer' but as a vocalist

  • But matt is iced earth !!!!

  • I agree both singer's are equal and are great in there own way

  • I love Iced Earth, be it Tim or Matt singing for them, both singers are amazing.

  • I agree man. I grew up with Matt's voice in Iced Earth though, so I do have to admit that I have a bit of bias opinion on it. I really enjoyed the work Tim did with both IE and JP. Both are great singers!

  • violator you one stupid er fan cant even tell the truth about music whats wrong your mommy only let u go to one concert u are one lieing mother fucker !!! you need to wash your mouth and ears out with soap you sorry fuck

  • violator your a dumb fuck u need to quit doing crack before the show barlow sucks live i have seen them 5 more times than u i like barlow buy tim is way better !!!!! a real er fan knows this

  • although i agree with tim being better, don't enforce your opinion on others. It's his opinion barlow is better and you think tim owns him. Perion do not argue about it. Just share thoughts.

  • barlow sucks live badly i seem them 6 times 5 with barlow 1 time with tim please take note i am a fan of barlow on album he sucks live tim blows him away !!!!

  • ahahaha barlow suck live? man stop to say some bullshit i've seen iced earth twice live with barlow and he is fucking awsome he'S more powerful live than on album so shut up wash your ears

  • violater listen to 10,000 strong Tims version live and barlows version put your beltone in and u will see

  • nah man yyour justa owens fans man you need to wash your ear when you go see iced earh cause what you see on video about barlow and live is diferent cause barlow have a lot more power in real and his voice is fucking awsome in real too and on video the camera cant get all the sound and power that he diserve so shut up ansd just watch man

  • I would recommend you listen to Tim's sad attempt's at singing Jack , and Dracula live.

Don't get me wrong , Tim is a great live singer , but so is Matt.

  • tim is the best live er singer ever

  • There best song?

  • Awesome performance!!! Tim rules on this song!!! Amazing!!!

  • HELL YAH!!!!

  • Iced Earth Fucking RULE!!!

  • 1:48 No Video Input

  • matt and tim duet would be cool

  • there's one custom here, but you should rethink what you said

  • AGREE!! if they could be together in the story of something wicked... that sure would be FUCKIN GREAT!

  • at least theres beyond fear

  • Barlow and Owens are both amazing singers, but it just seems to me that IE progressed a bit and Owens seems more fitting now, where as on an album like Horror Show or Something Wicked This Way Comes he may not have been as fitting.

With that said...I'm not a big fan of Barlow on these songs, especially The Clouding.

  • Such a great anthem song. One of my fav. Iced Earth songs with Ripper. Not all too sold on it with Barlow singing though.

I miss Ripper singing for IE. Don't get me wrong, Barlow kicks ass too. They are both awesome singers.

  • 6 strings bass in iced earth?

I saw them live with Barlow recently, and I must say that new songs like Declaration day and ten thousand strong sounded like they were made for Matt. And he have a lot more stage presence than Tim.

  • B/s

  • also bei den neuen liedern von ihnen ist ripper besser...aber wenn er die alten singt hört es sich zum kotzen an

  • Why did schaffer kick him??????

  • I read that Time Ripper Owens is now doing vocals with Yngwie Malmsteen. I dunno if there has been any live shows or not

  • great voice...too bad he had to compete with mat

  • uhrm... i don't find mat better tbh. But that's just me.

  • Great! Tim 'Ripper' Owens is the true Iced Earth singer! What a f*cking shame, that Jon Schaffer kicked him. The voice of Matt Barf*ck is so mega disgusting!

  • amesome!

  • listened to Barlow live 2 days ago, in my opinion Ripper is better on the songs that have been written for him but generally Barlow fits the Iced Earth style far better

  • This was better than i expected :) The song suits Owen. But i have to listen to the Barlow sample again.. :P

  • i wanna hear tim and matt do this song together

  • Amen to that, there both great

  • gotta say ill miss ripper

BUT MATT BARLOW HAS REATURNED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God Damn that tone is PHAT!

  • hey! hey! hey!

  • I've seen the 'Alive in Athens dvd' and it seemed to me that Barlow fake singing, in some chorus parts songs, I don't know if it's truth or lie, or just a background pre-recorded vocals, I think that sucks!, anyone knows what was that about or like?

  • i think you should tell barlow that and see if he does the ashlee simpson dance in the next dvd

  • good one!

  • Most likely, it's Jon Schaffer singing those parts.

  • Barlow is good, but Ripper owns...

  • Don't you think, Barlow's voice and ripper's are kinda similar in some aspects?... at least a little!, Don't you? or am I deaf?... I think is just the same, the band with or without Barlow!

  • Im up for that gun next

  • I cant wait to hear Matt sing this one.

  • imho their best song

  • God damn that tone is f'ing killer.

  • this song was killing at wacken

  • Damn ... I'm going to miss Owens. :( Just imagine Barlow singing the Gettysburg-Trilogy; and hand me a gun then to kill myself.

  • hell, that will suck. ill need that gun next lol

  • it wont be that bad, imo i prefer barlow to owens, but i only saw owens live

i think barlow could pull it off, but its personal preferences i guess

  • i think u might wanna hand me that gun aswell.

    hhahah

  • That's probably true I must say. Those three songs are damn great. Don't think Barlow would do 'em quite the same.

  • check out the samples of new iced earth here on youtube, matt does this song amazingly

  • Ive heard the Barlow demos on Gettysburg and The Glorious Burden. It was less than impressive. That cd was written for Tim. Nonetheless, they are both great singers and I wish them both well.

  • where did you hear them?

  • Schaffer said that the Glorious Burden was written for Barlow, in fact Matt left the band in 2003,when Matt already wrote the lyrics!

  • Matt didn't write the lyrics. Schaffer did.

  • oops!

  • Germany

  • Whers Wacken?

  • Ripper owens has a good voice but was not compatible with Iced earth I hope to get along in their new project Beyond Fear, I am very happy for the return of SINGER-ICED EARTH matt barlow there is no better voice to that iced barlow .... . is the ideal singer for this band of trash-heavy metal

  • Will Iced Earth just settle on a goddamned singer already?

  • yeah, while Ripper's vocals on the new IE album are absolutely bloody amazing (IMO), I think Barlow's look and voice suits the aesthetic of the band better. Glad to hear he's back on board!

  • Man I miss Barlow

  • he was sick at this concert... listen to the Graz footage, he's much better

  • Awesome man! ... chek out some of the vids of me playin.. and maybe subcribe if ya want :}

  • i do like both singers but im personally a bigger fan of owens, i was really pissed off when i found out they threw him out for barlow to come back, i wish theyd atleast held on with owens for part 2 coming out this yr instead we now get pt1 with owens and pt 2 with Barlow which will sound inconsistant and ruin it a little for me

  • Tim's fuckin amazin, i think the album is for him. He brings a different feeling.

Can't Matt re-join with Tim? WOOOOO lol

  • This one will sound killer with Matt on lead vocals , it sounds like it was written for him.

This isnt Tim's element , but he does a respectable job. After a couple times listening to this one again , I think my intial assessment was far to harsh.

  • Great concert, for a Great Band.

It's regrettable that Owens leave the band. He is one of the greatest singer in the 2008Metal World.

  • Great, he sings awesome live... I wish him the best and hope, that he will finally find his band...

  • Some of you guys are fucking faggots, lol. This wasn't a horrible performance, it could have been better. The whole eq for that matter was a little unbalanced. Listen to how loud the bass is in comparison to the guitars. Ripper can't fully be blamed, oh yeah, I talked to both of em. Both singers are nice guys.

  • Haha the bassguitar is just fine..

  • You know..I wouldn't be surprised if Jon wanted to redo this album, but with Matt's vocals instead. I'd love to hear it, but talk about a slap in the face to Tim, eh?

  • where did you get that video?

  • Here's to both Matt and Tim...I loved Tim on this record. But cheers to Matt for coming back too.

  • That's not a bad performance. You're probably a hardcore Matt fan who hates Tim.

Stop bad mouthing Tim. You're getting Matt back, so you should be happy.

  • I like both singers , but I prefer Matt for Iced Earth. Funny that you didnt say this was a good performance by Tim, gee I wonder why.

  • I didn't say it was good because I've seen Tim do better.

  • no it wasnt, it was fuckin awesome, Id like to see you do it.

  • I would sell my kidneys to go to an Iced Earth concert (especially at WOA)

  • I'm agree, it would be the best metal album of all time with Matt on it !

    Long live Iced Earth !!

  • ripper is topper, I cheer for him!!

  • i cant help but feel sorry for tim. from the moment he entered the stage he has gotten fucked over. first judas priest now iced earth and so many people along the way have shat on him, but he has done a fantastic job for both bands and i wanna thank him for kickin balls and wish him luck for the future.

  • best song of their show

  • I became IE fan because of ripper, A long time ago i heard some disc like the dark saga and horror show. but the glorious burden made me a IE fan, I was totally excited with the something wicked saga, but now, im not interested at all. better luck to ripper nex time

  • Known that barlow will be back i just wanna say a few words.I was so HAPPY when i knew he was coming back..when he left the band i thought the world was coming apart. Then Tim came and i wanna say a big THANKS TO TIM for giving us a different prospective in Iced Earth and giving us hope for GREAT songs Cause he F U C K ING ROCK.

    Iced earth Rule.

  • of*

  • Barlow is back.

  • Hahahaha, bet you feel dumb now.

In all honesty I don't really care either way, Tim Owens and Matt Barlow both kick ass.

  • WRONG!...He is back!

  • Wft is people's problem with Tim? He is a good metal singer. Perhaps not AS GOOD as Matt, but get over the fact that Matt is never joining Iced earth again. He gave up iced earth to live a normal life.

  • Jon looks old as fuck

  • the new cd is amazing, its one of the only ones that i can listen to start to finish.

  • yep no bad song :)

  • it's just feels like an epic/complete albumu

  • Right when he gets the crowd to chant hey before the solo is killer. Ripper is much better in Iced Earth..May have sang a little better live in Priest though. But he's still amazing

  • love the solo

  • I prefer this version to the song on the album. It sounds better with simplified vocal lines (none of the audio layer in the studio track).

  • This live version , and even the studio version, along with the whole cd really takes time to grow on you , unless you are a big Owens fanboy. At first I didnt like this cd at all , now I am starting to enjoy it after hearing more.

I do prefer the live version because of the reason you mentioned.

Nice dual 666 behind them on the wall, its in the lights.

  • it was so fawking nice!! :D

I can't wait till the first of november.. than i see them again :D

  • i like ripper more and more

  • Damn, I was waiting for him to hit that high part in the song. :(

  • yeah, can you download this somewhere, maybe in a higher resolution in mpeg-, wmv- or avi-format?

  • The more I hear this song the more I like it.

  • I was supposed to see them in Stockholm on the 25:th, but now I'm not able to get there.

Hopefully it won't be too long before they play in Sweden again, but since they'll have played 4 shows here when this tour is over, chances are it might take some time.

  • crazy shit theres a message saying no video input at 00:37 you have to start from 00:30 to catch it reads No Video Input hahaha

  • lol yeah it says it again at 1.15

  • going to see Iced Earth live here in sweden in 12 fucking days ! i cant wait :) and tim owens is a god !

  • I'll be there too! Tim's fucking awesome, saw him (and got a cd signed by him and Jon)at Sweden Rock Festival! Can't wait 'til the 25th!

  • Yes, it's a song from their new album "Framing Armageddon - Something Wicked Pt. 1"

  • is that a new song?

  • lol 1.16 subliminal message??

  • I would say there were more than minor vocal bluders in this song after he sings "brand new day" 40 seconds in, you can see him grimace knowing his vocals are off. "To [bring] justice on the way" is a major vocal miscue. He totally screws up the bring, and that is well into the song, around 2 minutes into it. He really struggles on " we must never falter we must never fail" so he goes back into his raspy high vocal, his safe haven. This song could be a lot better live.

  • Owens lost the notes before the chorus at the 2nd time :S (after "This is our charge to keeeeeeeeep")...well, he might improve this and his nasal singing...Please!

  • Iced Earths new cd Framing Armageddon debuted at position No. 78 on The Billboard 200 chart. Holy Sh!t.

I do still think it would have been higher with a better video , and better single like Domino Decree, which is a masterpiece. Most of the new cd Owens creates a unique vocal , and as I;ve said before its time to accept him as a member of the band. Maybe , they can afford a better video for the next single.

  • I think with a few more preformances , A charge to Keep will be awesome live. It is good to see Tim shake off his early vocal blunders, which were minor, and finish the song solid.

Lets hope the revolution is now here !!!
