@blackmamba99971 i agree with most of your post, but i would have to say that while they have been influential, id say portishead has been a bit more. they spearheaded an entire genre and were quite revolutionary. that said, i adore both bands.

@blackmamba99971 If you listen to some of New Order's stuff (which is appropriate considering this is Bernard Sumner singing lol) you'll hear some of the influences of the Chemical Brothers, not to mention a lot of the indie explosion in the early to mid 2000's after their Get Ready and Waiting for the Sirens Call albums. I'd say New Order were far more influential than these, and they're often overlooked which is quite sad.

@skosnude For a start stop watching total crap like "the O.C" and the Chemical's are not one specific genre they are the following:- Breakbeat, Bigbeat, electronica and dance. While these are just some of the genre's they fit, they create their own blend or mixture of these plus many other's and create their own unique sound which could be classed loose'ly under the genre's I mentioned although really they're just the Chemical's and most definitely not Dubstep.

A great song to the most chaotic times we live in today. This song represents the ill fated way of how the generational gap has widened. No morals, no consequences, and too much violence in the everyday way of life. This music makes one imagine the horrors of people that are succumbing to needless propaganda which follows dictators and wars that accompany them. But that's just the way I interpret it. Still great music to this day. Strange, and oddly satisfying.
