有些練意拳的人確實是練個三兩下就出來跑天下， 要不就是不願下苦功練站樁， 因為沒有三五年的基本樁功是沒辦法出來實戰的， 更何況是意拳講求功力的學到老站到老， 個人打意拳有個人的風格， 通常姚家一派是拳擊的風格， 意拳捨棄了套路， 不求形只求意， 純粹是真正的實戰拳法， 王薌齋在武術界風評不佳， 可能人家都認為他太自大， 因為他都說武術真正練好的沒幾人， 一些武術都有他的缺點， 他都依依的指出來， 所以很多人都認為他很自大自以為是， 但照我看來他只是把事實說出來， 沒有真正的好功夫怎敢批評其他拳種， 在當下早就被人斷手斷腳了。
