Sir Anthony Hopkins was perfect in the role of Odin - superhero movies are already starting to wear thin on me, but the Thor film was great because it struck the right tone between whimsical adventure and weighty drama, thanks to all involved.
@RyuriKamina I am unable to post a link at this time, but look up the video "THOR - Father.....BWAHHHHH!!! (HD)" I hope this helps you find what you seek, my friend!
Much like with Zorro, some of the most fun of Hopkins' bits in "Thor" were the fleeting (but amazing) flashback scenes. He looked like he was enjoying the hell out of himself.
A wonderful job, and here's to seeing Hopkins continue to act for a long, long time. I, for one, enjoy seeing anything he does.
He got the best scenes of the movie. Xp Lol Or at least the most profound and heartbreaking scenes, the most emotionally gripping scenes, which is quite right too. He is spectacular in the film. His Odin has so much presence, so much soul, he not only makes you believe he's the King of the Gods, but a father. Which I think is wonderful, because it gives him such depth. You can see how much it hurts him to be both. And how much he wants the brightest of futures for his sons. Which is lovely.
@rbdzntsfrlk o ic coz after i play star craft 2 i thought thor the name was also used in the game so i assume the movie also has a thor battle mech suit name after thor
@hajlichovaivetka oh he did?? i always wondered because i kno how he is known for being hannibal, and what a famous movie silence of the lambs is...but how come in his recent movies in the previews they never say "academy-award winner anthony hopkins"?? u'd probably kno better than me :)
what was the scean i saw the movie but i left befor the end credits ended i wanted to wait to see if there was something but my friend said no so we left
@redarmo25 sent it to me by messege on youtube i dont care if you spoile it i want to know i found one vid but its not english and 3d so didnt hear or see anything

Not a fan? Watch his performance in Julie Taymor's Shakespeare film Titus. It's heart-breaking and terrifying.

I get the feeling that if Branagh doesn't direct the sequel, none of the big named actors would come back.
