Good grief!! Tom Chaplin belted out its a hard life. That's one hell of a performance. I've always loved Keane, and love his live shows with them, but that was his best live vocal. Queen are and will always be the best band in the world.
His solo-ing before Last Horizon really makes me wish he'd put out a cruisy, mellow solo album. Bit like David Gilmour's "On An Island" or something. Come on Brian, get some more tunes out there you fuckin' legend.
Amazing performance from Tom Ch***** whateve his name is. Great cover version of a rarely heard song (its a hard life) and a difficult vocal to sing (as is anything by Freddie).
Brian must be getting old... they did It's A Hard Life live many a times on The Works Tour... great video! great band! Miss Freddie!! Brian do all us Queen fans a favor and stay away from lady gaga
I'm sorry Bri, but here you're in the wrong. It's A Hard Life was played live by Queen during the Workstour in '84. How could you forget? Getting old ;-)?
Utterly brilliant. Its A Hard Life made my eyes water! Utterly amazing by all! Last Horizon is always awesome and having Rufus on drums for These are the days of our lives was amazing too. Great video.
C'mon, people! Brian is talking about what Tom Chaplin think and said when he decides to perform "I'ts a hard life". Brian May have the world greatest archive of Queen things!!!
I'm a fan of queen since I was 11yrs, now i'm 36. But Brian Made a Mistake when he said that "It's a hard life" never been performed live, becouse it was in Rio de Janeiro in 85, anyway I love the band an all the songs,. the solo in last horizon is amasing as always
Tom was fantastic.. there are a few artist that shine trough doing a Queen song .. George Michael is one too.. you could tell it was good just by looking at Brian's face.. he appreciated how could Tom was
@AS6VIDEO Good comment. George was probably the only one at the mercury tribute to do any song real justice imo. Tom was superb here, saw Keane this year, very good, full band line up, great show.
Which guitar is he using here? Did he bring the "Old Lady" to this gig? Around the 19:00 mark I caught a glimpse of waviness in the bout where BHM rests his right forearm that looks like the original veneer. Does he ever trot out the old girl anymore? A gig before royalty should certainly qualify for a night out for the Fireplace!
Amazing! Tom Chaplin has a real nice voice for It's A Hard Life! I think there will never be somebody with an awesome voice like Freddie Mercury had, but I think Tom Chaplin has a very nice and strong voice too! Again amazing!
Queen's set was the highlight of the night for me and in particular Tom's song with them. shame about the quality of the video conversion especially when the original was shot in HD (and 3D for that matter)
That's great! Brian, Roger and, back, Spike Edney.... I miss so much John there. And of course, Freddie. But Tom Chaplin in It's a Hard Life bring tears to my eyes!!! I love this song!. Well, all together make my day a little bit happy!
Never thought I'd be so excited to see Tom Jones sing a Queen song...even if it's just a fraction :) Oh and Brian...you kinda led off your Works album tour in South America with Hard Life on more than one night, but whatever, Chaplin made it sound new :)
Off all the MANY collaborations that BM & RT have assembled post Queen, (some I feel have been a little flat) I think this one is THE best (so far). You can tell a lot of thought & prep work was put into this. Great song choice, pace and execution. I mean, spot-on, from the heart & total class all the way...Goosebump City!!
Keane singer performance is really interesting, it's a shame he didn't sing on a few other covers. His voice is really close to freddy one. I think the result will be really better with him than paul rodger.
How awesome to see Tom Jones singing some Queen. Nice try from Tom Chaplin too. Brian & Roger please go on tour without Paul Rodgers. Any vocals the two of you can't manage, the audience can.
@ErichoEricho completly agree they dont make bands like queen any more they will never be reproduced sadly because the indrustry is missing rockers like queen and musicand like brian may in everyday music circles
EXCELLENT LEGENDS QUEEN

This video is the proof that the Queen can return on tour!
My dream formation:
Brian on Guitar & Lead Vocals;
Roger on Drums & Lead Vocals;
Spike Edney on Keyboards & Backing Vocals;
Jamie Moses on Guitar & Backing Vocals;
Neil Murray on bass.
Thumbs up to let Brian read!
