  • I've watched this vid like 20 times and still can't figure out how they do the move at 2:25 so perfectly. Absolutely amazing.

  • @bluestarhopeful The alternating rows rotate. The ends go between the end 2 of the row behind/infront of them and so on.

  • @DaGuitarSaxMan Sorry I looked at it wrong, the lines compress and stay in the same area.

  • 1:24 a box rotation within a box rotation. ROTATIONCEPTION

  • Anyone who doesn't see the importance of color guard in a marching band or drum corp (yes, they are different) doesn't deserve to hold an instrument, let alone be in a band/corp.

I'm a snare drummer. I'm the section leader of percussion at my high school. I've never touched any color guard equipment. But I can absolutely say that color guard is just as important as any part of the band.

  • NOW i want to hear people say band is easy.

  • Fuck front row seats. I want the highest seats there :D

  • there is a lot of comments about DrumGod22's comment...idiot =D

  • Its kinda creepy sped up like this LOL. still awesome though

  • O.o somebody ate the floor at 2:35 its the top spinning thing right near the end Ive never noticed that before

  • How do the coordinate that? It's like they are a hive-mind.

  • the Cavaliers have an AMAZING design team!!!

  • looks pretty great at normal speeds and even better sped up! :P Gotta appreciate the Cavvies drill

  • i always feel so bad for the judges on the field...it's like being in an ever-changing labyrinth.

  • sweet Jesus

  • Son of a fucking bitch. These people are the bomb. And drumline is epic so don't be talkin no shit.

  • Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let's calm down all the drummer stereotypes

@DrummerGod22 is obviously one of those people who got his technique from the movie "Drumline", but no need to lump the rest of us with him. True, his opinion is uneducated, but you guys are starting to lose sight of the video.

Cavvies are fuckin' awesome! *cough*Phantom, FTW!!!*cough*

Don't feed the ignorance! Fight the power!!!

    Okay. I'm done. :]

  • Im eglish and a snare drummer in a marching in england. Of course u need a colour guard. That's something u wouldnt even find in 'DCI 4 dummies!

  • Cool. Very creative video editing!

  • *eyegasm*

  • whats the name of the song playing in the background to this video, in the beginning? i remember playing it in band...

  • I thought for a moment that this was the real tempo.... I almost had a heart attack

  • @MichaelNilloc It is for their 2011 show. :)

  • The Best Drum Corps*

  • Holy crap! No wonder they're nationally recognized! Go Cavaliers!!! :D

  • sic formations - clean, crisp, tight. love it

  • dude this looks absolutely sick in fast motion

  • asa drummer myself, that guard may not be as physical as 50 pounds of quads, but i dare you to throw a rifle in the air without gloves on and catch it like they do, then tell me that gaurd doesnt have work involved

  • damn all this love im getting...people arent even commenting on the video, just on what I said. guess the flag wavers aren't as important as you all thought.

  • @DrumGod22 1: The caveliers are awesome (I commented on the video). 2: think before you type. 3. You obviously don't know shit about what you are talking about. 4:...just shut the hell up. Thank you, goodbye!

  • @animelover3400 LMAO fuck off.

  • @DrumGod22 wow. dude shut the fuck up. im a percussionist! and yes everyone in the band works just as hard as everyone else. youre not a drum god so change your account name. I bet if you asked REAL percussionists like Murray Gusseck, Thom Hannum, and all the most amazing people who have don drum corps they would tell you the same. so go fuck yourself you piece of shit. You give real drummers a bad name. idiot

  • @Crayo99999 You don't present a good arguement when you start with 'dude shut the fuck up'. It makes you sound like an idiot. Even if I do agree.

  • @DrumGod22 hey dude .. 4 words "THIS IS... MY RIFLE!!"

  • @DrumGod22 you go buy a fucking color rifle and do throw an 7 up in the air and spin once in a circle then catch it correctly. Then get back to me and show me a fucking video bitch!

  • Comment removed

  • this reminds me of starcraft haha

  • man, cut the music and let us hear the original music

  • Watching this video makes me start to say that Cavaliers is the best corps when it comes to visual. I mean the other corps are totally great too, but look at their innovative moves and they do it all with such perfection from this perspective. Cavaliers has dones some crazily hard stuff. So now, I think I'm going to put them in my book as the best and my most favorite visual corps.

  • Ahah, one of the reasons I love The Cavaliers is from their silly, yet neat, dance moves. It also matches well with the music in this video xD

  • nice and clean, but it still bugs me that you can pick out most of these formations and drills run by other corps in years past. i mean to the point where i see the formations here and it almost looks like a carbon copy of other shows. while the drill is nice and clean, that fact still is dissapointing.

  • you guys are idiots for fighting over the colorguard. its like the special olympics., no matter who wins, ur both still retarded

  • and people say this isnt a sport

  • I have to laugh at the judge who runs the length of the field at hyper speed at the 2:00 mark. I hope he made it to the porta potty in time..LOL

  • DrumGod22 is right. There is nothing impressive about a flag being waved around me all day. In fact, I would probably get annoyed by it. However, the precision at which these guys perform their show is what makes it worth watching, and not just "waving flags," for me. I marched Scouts last year, I am marching this year, and I will be marching for 3 years after that. And, I swear, every year the color guard will be my inspiration on work ethic, performance, and precision. And I march snare.

  • At 1:17 Cut me a pice of that Dimond Cutter! Awesome MOVE!

  • seriously got chills haha

  • Ohhh yep. Cavaliers = Love.

  • over the years this group has done many things that has made my jaw drop. (no homo)

  • It's perfect.

    What is the music?

  • no weaknesses none at all

  • also the frameworks part matched the music perfectly

  • holy shit i wasnt payin attention during the diamond cutter part of the 2000 show and i looked up and u had fast forwarded it haha looks badass at 60 mph

  • There needs to be the spinning circle through the giant box in 007, their 2004 program, and a couple more highlights from frameworks, but overall it was pretty good, where was machine? Too much time spent in "the planets" for my taste. Throw in Machine and 007.

  • there is no planets. it's all 2000-2002

  • there is only from 00-02

  • LOL, come on people stop freaking out, its sped up to show the formations.

  • what song is this?

  • Rob Dougan - Clubbed to Death. Popular ever since the Matrix came out.

  • "what makes them so unbeatable"

    /DM Salute

  • Ha amazing...but theres no way thats actual speed :p

  • ...KristennSayssHii...it takes common sense to realize that this is in no way real speed

  • Shit, is this real speed? If so, this is effing amazing.

  • My old director, now the head director at Ronald Regan High School in San Antonio marched lead trumpet for the 007 show and was one of the 4 soloists. He's a bad ass.

  • Ronald Regan High School is badass lol so i guess he fits in there pretty well.

  • Well honestly they used to be bad ass. But they didn't even make finals at BOA Arlington.

  • wow that's ridiculous. hm.

  • you can see that most of the time it's fast-forwarded

  • How is this possible? o.o

  • my band teacher marched tenors in the cavies i think 2000 or 2001 and 2002.

    im not exactly sure.

  • no its awesome it goes along. in our marching band my dad films it and at the end he and i make a a vid like this people love it

  • you really shouldve kept the real music...

  • i thought that opening drill was real time.. wow. still cool anyway.

  • you guys are awesome...im in a band myself...i would love to be in the cavaliers...

  • Drumgod22: hey fag, its not impressive to you but the colorguard really are a big effect on the show, especially with the cav's because they add so much to the GE of it, it doesnt matter what effect it has on the musician, but the effect they have on the show, look at the bigger picture... jesus

  • Yeah my old band director marched cavies 91-94 on trumpet so

  • :( Sadly they got 4th this year :'(

  • wow i was about to chew you out i thought u were talking bout 2008 and i was like noooo they got 3rd lol but u were talking 2009 lol

  • :( Yup I went to DCI Finals last year and this year and I was sadly talking about this year. But I plan to go again next year so I hoping for a 1st :D

  • I made it... perhaps I will...

  • What show is at 0:48

  • Looks like its their 2000 show "Niagra Falls"...the year they tied with the Cadets.

  • What is the show at 1:45?

  • 1995 The Planets

  • Aw man... you lied to me, its 2001

  • my band director was in the planets 7th baritone @ the age of 14 by the age 17 first crazy

  • dude...were can i find the FULL show?

  • I'd also like to know!

  • DrumGod22-...without a colorguard, any marching band/drum corps will have an automatically low visual score and lose any chance of winning. The colorguard is the visual representation of the music played.

Who's to say those damn hornline members don't do the exact same thing in every show?

    Seriously, cry more.

  • You are obviously the steorotypical drummer DrumGod22. You can't appreciate what other people do. The color guard works just as hard as any other person on that field!

  • Comment removed

  • Typical drummer. The guard adds a great deal to the show. Try picking up a rifle some time and doing what they do. I bet you would go crying home to mommy.

  • dude, "drumgod" mellow out. im in the drumline myself, and i hate my colorguard, but thats on a personal level. our guard adds to the performance, so dont be like the stereo typical snobby drummer, i dont like it when people think im an arse cuz im a drummer and guys like you make them think that.

  • @DrumGod22 I"m sure you can't do it like them. But it will be ok.

  • Wow you are an idiot, you obviously know nothing about dci and have had skunks piss in your eye if you can't tell the emotion, color, and excitement a colorguard brings to the show. And as someone who has marched both band and colorguard i can tell you that it is far from just waving around a flag and dancing, lets see you catch a yard long peice of chrome (saber) and not bitch about it hurting, i bet you couldnt even spin the flag or toss a double on rifle if you needed to. No more Band 4 you

  • Ok.

  • Color guard is extremely hard. You need to be flexible, and need to have real strenght to be able to be sure you have the moves precise. You can't understand what color guard really does for the show. Without US, my er..."friend," people would just say "huh...shapes...made of people....interesting." and then look away. When they see the flags, they say, "huh wow. Shape-HOLY SHIT! Where did those amazing colors come from?!"

  • @HaroldandFred Cool story bro.

  • @DrumGod22 he should tell that one at parties.

  • @DrumGod22 dude do you know how hard it is to spin a gun, ubver fast, or even a sabre, high in the air, and catch it perfectly? ive seen guard get their heads split open from that shit, being a colorguard is a shitton harder than you make it sound, im not ever a guard and i realize this -.-

  • @DrumGod22 don't feed the troll guys. It's sad that people even have to troll YouTube comments nowadays.

  • @DrumGod22 From that comment the guard will prolly be pissed at you and "Flag" for spam.

  • @DrumGod22 Hey in the future if you could think a little bit before you posted that would be great. Thank you!

  • @DrumGod22 you're the definition of dumb, and shit

  • @xxzhoutaixx bro...this was posted 11 months ago...STFU.

  • @DrumGod22 And your point being?

  • @HaroldandFred You're making things worse not better.

  • @HaroldandFred not the guard at my school... unfortunately D;

  • Comment removed

  • @DrumGod22

The guard is responsible for 99.99 percent of all the band's visuals.

    Gtfo.

  • @DrumGod22 it's not a fucking band you dumbass

  • Their drill has become more and more psychedelic in nature over the years. =)

  • wooaaahh!!!! O.o amazing!!!

  • this is the drill from niagara falls

  • sheer perfection

  • I do quite love this video. :) Good job!

  • we might get their drill designer next season!!!

  • richard saucedo has been calallen high schools drill designer and composer for the past couple of years. hes totally badass. we own the field thanks to him =)

  • my bad.. wrong name. sorrry. meant to say michael gaines. saucedo does the music

  • Yeah, last year saucedo composed our show. His music owns!

  • this year saucedo composed our music too!

it was a totally sick show too!

but the judges didnt think so.

  • the corps is good, but they have the best drill writer in the world. That is who makes that corp. Mr. Michael Gaines. That is why i watch them. If he left I wouldnt have any use to watch them.

  • one of the best corps (but pr stays my favorit)

  • caveliers shows are kinda mostly the same. Visuals and percussion are usually okay but they don't really explore their brass sound which usually kinda suckz in my opinion.

  • Amen!! its been that way for how long?

  • what show are they doing at 1:38?

  • 2001 Four Corners

  • I thought for a moment that the video was of the Cavaliers playing and performing the actual song "Clubbed to Death" lol..that would be cool..

    cool vid anyway

  • i really like this music ... its ballin

  • Ok, they did not win DCI in 2000. The Cadets won with "Millenium Celebration."

  • Actually....Cadets tied with The Cavaliers for first place. Both got a 97.650. Now it is impossible to tie positions. They decided that whoever won GE would win in the case of an overall tie. In 2000 The Cavaliers won GE with a 39.10 while cadets had a 39.00. So even if you wanted to say the cadets won, nowadays they would have came in second. But thats just me knowing my history...

  • you are absolutely right. what a year it was too.

  • wrongo....check out the new rules for 09. they went old school so now if 2 corps should tie they both will be awarded gold. if memory servers 1996 both Phantom and BD got gold. 99 SCV and BD tied for gold and 2000 Cavies and cadets tied for gold. So Noonan1223 According to DCI themselves you were right.

  • umm dude its we are the future

  • ok, i made a mistake. my bad. ill read up on my history before i say anything ever again. sound good to you all? seriously, is it that big a deal? when i went to the DCI website and looked at the audio for sale for each show from 2000, it said the Cadets won and that it was entitled "Millenium Celebration." now this probably has been rectified since then (over a year ago) but that's where i got my info. sorry for DCI screwing up for a little while.

  • This would be sooo nice if it was at normal speed. These guys are amazing!!!

  • i got to see this live and it looked so much better at the real speed and up close.

  • well if you would please upload it, that would be awsome, you have the best angle, and picture of the show. As long as you caught it from a camera and not off of TV, but even if it is TV I still want to see it =o

  • cavies always have the best drill imo

  • I share that opinion with you :).

  • the drill for this show is BADASS

  • WTF KIND OF SONG DID YOU THROW IN!?

I want to hear them...not your shit

  • Yeah! You ruined it you douche!

  • I could post the real version. Of course, it'd have to be under a false name to prevent its removal...

  • what show is at 1:40?

  • Think that's the "4 Corners" show from '01

  • what song is this?

  • dude, why did you have to speed it up so much?

  • the beginning is the Niagara falls performance

  • vcs são minha inspiração!!

  • this show is sexy

  • Go,Les Cavaliers, vous etes capable, vous etes mes préférer! Gros bisous

  • Their drill is always amazing, no doubt.

  • Gods.

  • amen chief they are incredible

  • not so much...

  • I seen this on a different video but when did the cavaliers have a show where they had people standing on ladders?

  • 05 i think. someone correct me if i'm wrong

  • Ah thanks. I just checked out an 05 video you were right.

  • the song is Matrix theme by crystal method

  • ummm its clubbed to death Rob something

  • sexy company front

  • anybody know the name of the song in the middle of the video?

  • dude.

    nimrod from enimga variations

    thats badass.

  • Nicely done with the timing and all. I liked this.

  • whoah. thats nice. slower woulda been nicer tho lolz

  • this is the best..

  • gat-dayem that was clean as fuck

  • Kewl but i wanna hera them play
