What facts? The case was disposed of in a underhanded way. The mayor was not found guilty, his arm was twisted politically. He was forced to weigh his desire to fight and be found innocent against the mounting pressure from his own party to quit since the ordeal was jeopardizing the chances for the Democrats as it relates to the presidential election. Sharon Mcphail was destroying Goodman in the governors hearings, and then came the statement from the Obama camp asking the Mayor to resign

While some of the points raised here are valid, the idea that people from the suburbs want the mayor gone because he is black is just ignorant. Detroit has not seen a white mayor in over 30 years and his replacement will also be black. The political goals of others is the key, especially many city council members. They have worked against every mayor in my lifetime. Also, Granholm has stabbed Detroit in the back ever since she first took office. She sticks it to the poor like a Republican.

Of course it goes beyond a conspiracy to replace a black face with a white one. I think many are able to see that while a replacement would be black, he or she would not be operating with our best interest at heart. Detroit is a majority black city, we should have a Mayor in office who understands our needs and concerns and is willing to work on our behalf. He or she should not be subject to the Will of those who live or do business outside of this city.
