  • Criswell was pastor of FBC Dallas for over 50 years...on this occasion he was preaching at FBC Jacksonville, Florida. The bald guy in the background was Dr. Jerry Vines, who was its pastor at the time. Vines now occasionally fills in for Dr. Charles Stanley at FBC Atlanta.

  • And all God's people said...

  • What church was Criswell preaching then, and did he pastor a church?

  • @Aviewoftime Sorry I must have removed your comment by accident. Here it is:

  • i liked it, but he didnt use that much scripture. :(

  • There are not many preachers today like this one. I can't remember the last time i heard about the Cross of Calvary in a sermon. Maybe someday God will raise up another Dr. Criswell or Pastor Richard Jackson. God centered men like these two are needed today.

  • @gotch09 Yes, Baptists like Catholics and me and you are sinners and that is why we all need a Savior, Jesus Christ, who can forgive us of our sins and make us right with God. Have no room to defend Bapitsts or anybody else, just want to proclaim Jesus who is our only Hope.

  • @wmpope100 Not entirely my point, I rest of my point is: The Baptist like to scream about everybody else, but they don't want to hear about their own dirty little sins. They're the pot that called the kettle black.

  • @gotch09

Sounds like you need to get off the cross because we need the wood.

  • @ricardo522042 oh well.Life's a bitch isn't it??

  • @gotch09

Yep, and then you marry one. Any drift to that?

  • @ricardo522042 No. You're Einstein, you educate the rest of us peons.

  • @gotch09

Right. And you believe that Gays are really in denial, right?

  • @ricardo522042 If it makes you happy.

  • @gotch09 SAD, SAD, such a mis-guided, blinded comment by one who obviously is so aware of his own sins and failures he thinks by pointing out the sins of others he hides his own.

  • @howdyMS Spoken like a true Southern Baptist. You must deflect off the point by finger pointing. That's my point exactly. You must deflect at any and all cost.

  • Dr. Criswell has been dead for over 8 years and has never seen the new building program under Dr. Robert Jeffress.

W.A. Criswell was my pastor for over 30 yrs. I truly loved this man and his preaching. Just about one of the last "Old Time Religion" preachers. I miss him so!

Thanks for posting his last sermon.

  • I am a bivocational pastor and this was the first time that I had heard W. A. Criswell speak either live or on tape. I had only been pastoring for 2 years at this time. I have shared that when he came up to the pulpit, he appeared so weak, I thought, "I hope he makes it through the sermon" and when he finished I thought, "I wish I could preach like that."

  • I loved this! Thanks for Posting
