After such a bad year in death toll in 1971 they brought in speed cameras, seat belts, More policing of the roads. From there year 1970-2003 the death toll decreased and the registered vehicles increased. In 2003 there was 1600 deaths and 13 million registered cars. From 2003-2004 road toll haven't changed much, but more cars on the roads.
