the blob wasn't a missile because there are no existing missiles of such speed or without trailing exhaust

That blob is above the impact. I would say 5-6 floors above the right wingtip.
Still no idea what it could be. May be a sun reflection from the roof of another building ????

No idea. It stays fairly static, perhaps yet more close-by debris but deceiving viewpoint. Grab the video and have a scrub through it. If it raises enough curiosity, I'll separate the few frames and post something at the911forum...just to help get an idea of what it could be. Probably nothing untoward, but...

I think that there are two seperate explosions during the crash. Have heard crash sounds? They are rather sharp.
