WOW ! He for sure got away for someone's house or a pet store while his cage was being cleaned ! I can't see someone just releasing a cage born canary let alone a red factor out to the wild . By the way a red factor canary is really a hybrid between a canary ( serinus canarius ) & a hooded siskin ( spinius ) . So it would be a serinus domesticus . What a joy canaries bring to life .
Cicero is a wonderful singer. This little guy appeared on my deck one day last summer. I rescued him from certain death at the hands of 3 nasty raccoons. He has been singing his thanks every day since.
