Arcade games had specific hardware which was often unique for each game. So when the game designer decided: "I want parallax scrolling", the hardware guys built the additional circuits necessary to scroll two independent layers. Since arcade games were much more expensive than consoles, the additional costs were negligible.

Mame is the best yeah , download the emulater then the rom , i bought a disc of ebay with 1000s of the original games , make sure it is mame though as thats the only orginal version of this game

I never understood why pacland has 5 ghost. (Inky,pinky,blinky,clyde and Sue) but pac man has four (inky,pinky,blinky and clyde) What happen to Sue?

IIRC Sue is from Ms Pac Man. She replaced one of the original four. I forget which one.

the further you get in the game original arcade version i made it to trip 15 its hard as hell i hope their is an end im so pissed off i have the damn countertop arcade game with a free game button i had it put in -i get so mad making stupid mistakes game takes patience and skill....its not stupid just damn time consuming

you must type "pacland mame" in google and you'll go to the page where you can download this game as well as many, i say many games from the 80's. you can download the software to play them all. the only thing though is that it is in spanish. any question, send a message!!! :)

Pac-Land is awesome. Hard, but still awesome. I have the Famicom (NES) version, which is pretty much the same as this (Arcade) version except Pac-Man and the ghosts are smaller and water is light blue.

Hi there,ive bought cds of ebay and these games in my experience the graphics Jump so to say so i bought pacland on NAMCO CLASSICS VOLUME 4 for PS1(can play on PS2)on ebay and is an EXACT copy of the game and IM HOOKED hahaha...Good luck.
