  • it knows where you are because it hears you talking!!

  • i discovered the leech having lunch on me! LOL well narrarated

  • Its 2012. I bet that leech now is saying " Where the hell did my Lunch go" Haha

  • I'm in the bug part of youtube again :P

  • Put it on your dick

  • that is what you get when you go out side bare-footed

  • hey Kurt what if you clean the wound will it still infect and have a great time in japan i envy you

  • ... Japan looks beautiful. But it has WAY too many freaky things that want to kill/eat you.

  • Wow man. Never gotten bitten in my life. I just searched up leeches cause I love to see it's big fat body swell up when it eats blood. How fascinating is that!??

  • That is a funny looking ant

  • I'm a person who loves nature, but those things disgust me more than just about any other insect or animal (excepting the camel spider) I don't know why, I think it's a bit of a phobia. If I saw one I would kill it on sight.

  • Luckily leeches are tiny here in uk

  • I was bitten in the BUTT by one of those.. 2 hours later, I puked. :( but Dayum those things are big

  • so it has a penis and a vagina?

  • While you were in Japan did you try canned bread? Its freaking GOOD

  • When it`s done do it youst let go frome you and go on its whey to wherewer that goes?

and what happend to the wond it come blod then mutch out or what?

  • Ugh! Makes me shiver

  • I prefer to watch your channel than to watch Discovery...It seems more natural.

  • *draws sword*

  • Oh my...Leeches are so intresting :D

  • I love "Skip this ad now" button

  • that thing is so awsome~~~:) love the way it moves ^^

  • @NikeRTST Agreed. However, I would prefer that it stay far, FAR away.

  • I guess what's disturbing about these kind of living things is that it'll never understand how much of an inconvenience it is to get your blood sucked and also in their head they're just 'trying to eat/live'. Their vigor is also a little disturbing...

  • HOLY S?!T

  • That ant is like I DON'T WANT NONE OF THAT SHIT IM OFF

  • YOU'RE SO BRAVE! :'(

  • beautiful place

  • why am i watching this..

  • I wonder how leeches like salt, seeing as its trying to suck your blood there will be nothing of importance lost.

  • You seem pretty calm from having a leech on your foot, I probably wouldnt of been so calm more like freaked out a bit. I know there used it medicine but I know they breed there own so the leeches are safe to use on a patient. That one on ur foot...not so much, hope ur foot wasnt infected from the bite.

  • Are you barefoot? O.o

  • leeches are cute. sometimes when i go mountain climbing in malaysia, i get one latched on my arm or around my ankles, and i carry them around like little pets. they were small ones though so usually when they've had their fill, they drop off automatically. i dont know the proper way to detach them. xD

  • japan is so peaceful

  • are you some kind of bug expert?

  • O.O I never knew a leech could do that much damage in just a half hour. I'll be sure to lookout for those when I visit japan.

  • Hey, now I know where to get my natural blood-letting supplies hehe

  • :o

  • This is a fantastic video! Thank you for sharing. I needed a good video of a leech's movement to observe, this is perfect!

  • You're very brave to go near those leeches. The first of your videos I saw on these mountain leeches made my skin crawl, lol. But, your videos are very educational and fascinating.

  • I love how you say "Blood meal" you make it sound liek some Necro undead monster.

  • Well , you're crazy, but it's nice video, very patience and educational, thanks

  • IT KNOWS WHERE YOU LIVE

  • was this little guy the inspiration for resident evil zero's leech-based monsters?

    the anatomy seems quite similar

  • your gonna have to call the leech and tell it you gave it aids. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOORYYYYYYY.

  • That bigass ant that gets pwned at 0:23 is scary D:

  • Since (mountain) leeches are actually very beneficial for one's blood circulation I consider keeping some of those as pets in a terrarium ^^

  • does it hurt?

  • OUCH

  • very interesting video :) thank you for posting.

you seem to be a very optimistic person nice.

  • Oh my god! He ate so much!!

  • japan is such a beautiful place!

  • @darkstarwarp I agree! Japan is indeed very beautiful! Have a great day! ~Kurt :-)

  • @softypapa Yeah-yeah, just dont go there or you will grow a pair of tits.

  • @darkstarwarp

Too bad they've got dolphin hunters, where very little people in japan know about...

  • o-o i wonder how it managed to get to his feet "past the sock n shoes '

  • i'd be outta there ina shot. instead of pointing the camera away and talking about the scenery while that bastard leech was tring to eat me alive lawl.

  • just like 2 say how jealous i am of ur travels i cant wait 2 travel aswell in january :D , ur videos are awesome and ur a interesting guy. i love ur videos! cheers Josh

  • @69flamez69 Hi Josh! Thank you for your nice words. I'm looking forward to seeing you when you come to Japan and getting out in the mountains together. Hang in there and keep striving towards your wonderful goals! ~Kurt :-)

  • i wish i had mountains or jungles were i live

  • @vendetta007mike haha LOL...xD

before hiking, people put salt in your socks...

  • i want to hike in japan one day.. tnk for ur info

  • I laughed when you said little ant, i've seen some pretty good size ants in Nihon ;)

  • I wish I could go to Japan and like learn some animation and see some sights there. Though I heard its very expensive to live there.

  • that shrine looks like a really nice and calming place during the rain.

  • That ant is all like "Watch this, this is some Jackass stunt" and runs up to the leech, would've been funny if the leech had eaten that ant.. lol

  • Great videos man. I have learned alot from you. keep em comin.

  • Did you get a tetanus shot afterward??

  • nice and intuitive...but i would suggest that you bandage up such wounds in the future to 'avoid infection' as you said yourself =).

  • You're a very intelligent and interesting person, thanks for the videos :D

  • @ShakeYourDreads Thank you for your very nice words. Have a great day! ~Kurt :-)

  • good for you :D

  • this is so cool! but the area where the yama-biru latched onto was quite.. unsightly.. anyways tnx for sharing this..

  • no pain, no awareness it amazes me how creatures can be so well constructed and advanced they can be.

  • I don't know why I am finding your leech videos so interesting before going to bed. Bring on the nightmares!

  • what if he bit your dick..........

  • yeah sorry, nobody told me about these. I'm going back to US now.

  • Nice video. Peaceful

  • Today I was fishing with my friends and I found a leech on my leg. I just grabbed it and threw it off. There was a little blood , but I dont think the head is still there. I must know how it looks like

  • I experienced an attack by 3 leeches at once on my right foot. I didn't know I was victimized, it was raining and I was hiking. My feet were practically numb.

I just saw blood flowing down non-stop from 3 different places on my foot and thought "oh!"

One of the girls I was with, found 2 of them in her panties, she had to go see a Doc after that. They can go inside the uterus and live there. So, when you want to hike on rainy days, Just Be careful Ladies!!

  • @greenforest8923 I'm sorry to hear that you and your friends had such an experience with leeches. It's indeed amazing how they can find their way onto a victim so easily and remain unnoticed until it is too late. Your cautions for lady hikers are especially appreciated as I suspect few are aware of this risk (I wasn't). Thank you again. Have a great day! ~Kurt :-)

  • @greenforest8923 oh my gosh are you ok did it hurt. i thought when i read that you were dieing.

  • @JUSTINBIEBER3449

Lol, no, it'll take more than 3 leeches to kill me. ^___^

    thanks though!

  • @greenforest8923 thats why use tampoons when you hike.

  • @ruskie20

Actually Hiking in the rain During the Period isn't a good idea from the beginning. That girl should have done that, although I don't think she was in her period.

  • @greenforest8923 most likely...i agree

  • @greenforest8923 Ewwww, uterus leach!

  • @greenforest8923 omg! the panties?! that makes me cringe , poor girl. they can actually get in? damn

  • @greenforest8923 noway can a leech go into the uterus and live in there. never could mine. I have a stenosed cervix X-)

  • @greenforest8923 ha! so my fear isnt irrational after all!

  • @greenforest8923 you make it sound like a rape lol.

  • Amazing video. Thanks for sharing.

What is the correct way of removing a leech to avoid leaving behind the mouth piece in your flesh? I might have panicked and brushed it off or grabbed and pulled.

Also, are those the type of leech that is used for withdrawing poisons?

  • @ZawadiSimone The best method I know to remove leeches is to gently slip a fingernail between the mouthparts and your skin. This causes the suction to break and allows the leech to come off easily. I have tried this method and it works very well. I'm not sure but I think the leech for removing poison may be a different and larger species. ~Kurt :-)

  • @ZawadiSimone cook it! i mean u burn it with a lighter!

  • @ZawadiSimone If you are feeling a bit less humane about being gnawed on, you can also get em with a match.

  • Amazing video. Thanks for sharing.

What is the correct way of removing a leech to avoid leaving behind the mouth piece in your flesh? I might have panicked and brushed it off or grabbed and pulled.

  • so this is how they move far they find something to grab on them shoot themselves up lol?

  • your lcuky do you lvie in japan ???

  • gross. that's so nasty!

  • Interesting, Leeches get too much bad press, they live a long time and don't re-produce for ages so I've read. We do have them in uk but not too easy to find,I'm on the lookout for horse leeches. The place looks lovley inded.

  • @ziggy36 Indeed even!

  • thats messed up in my opimiom but real serene place id like to visit ... with leech repelant

  • You sound a little edgy that you found that thing on your leg. lol

  • its so peaceful no traffic or anything

  • @siyuan161 This is indeed a peaceful place. Thanks for watching! ~Kurt :-)

  • @softypapa :D

  • thanx so much, this helped with my assignment heaps :)

  • @foreveralwaysnadia That is terrific! I am really glad to hear that the video was helpful with your schoolwork. Thank you for watching! -Kurt :-)

  • gratz ernie

  • SPOCK dont move!.. hand me the laser gun...NOW! PING PING PAOOW!

  • O_O

  • oooomggg those things scare the shittt outta me!!! DX

  • OMG! that leech was so small but really tremendous at drinking blood, hey have you seen leeches being taken out from someone nose. just type "sanguijuela fosa nasal" its not important the language u see it. its just so bloody gross...

  • oh he is so cute!

  • Once I had a dream that I was tied up and pushed into a pool full of leeches

  • Put it to your foot again so we can see how it sucks blood

  • u may not notice but this isnt live, he cant read what u say

  • How dare you deny the exhausted leech a second opportunity at a meal! I'm joking; excellent synopsis of leech behavior, and a gorgeous shot of those misty Japanese mountains!

  • So apparently to get them off you have to put your fingernail (Or could we use another object?) under its SMALL mouth and manually scrape it off?

Urgh.. I wouldn't want to mess with those guys. Is there any other efficient methods of removal as well? What do you do immediately after having one on you?

Also, the fact it crawled into your shoes INTO your socks is a scary thought....

  • Hello Lishy1, I have another video titled 'How to Remove a Japanese Mountain Leech' in which I demonstate the fingernail under mouth removal technique which seems to work very well. I've heard that other techniques such as heat and salt can cause the leech to regurgitate it's stomach contents into your bloodstream which could cause problems. Perhaps there are other better ways which other posters can share. Thanks for watching and commenting. -Kurt :-)

  • 2:13 I wasn't expecting THAT amount of blood o.O

  • Hello CaptainEagle09, I too was surpised to see just how much blood came out of that little hole. Leeches are amazing creatures! -Kurt :-)

  • They certainly are :-)

  • Your feet are so fucking hot, I'd suck on it too.

  • mmmmm leach mouth parts. im surprised you took that so well :)

  • wow it's a shapeshifter

  • your infected by an alien in form of a leech cut off your leg now ahahahaha

i usually wear boot when going in grassy land

  • incredible. Though i wonder what would it do if it were to be cut in half...i dont mean it in a animal abuse type of way, i just dont get what it would do. I know it'd probably die but...ugh

  • Its like a slinky. lol

  • wow! im never touching that!

  • i was surprised after the size of the leech, seeing that much blood. yowza... not kidding with "anticoagulant."

very educational, i didn't know they could leave their mouthparts. i hate to say that drops them a peg on my "esteemed creepy crawly" list.

  • man, you are very intelligent.

leechs just scare me, and the fact that they can chase you? creepy

  • yeah leeches are said to follow by using head sensors and as you move it'll follow you even though it's not as fast as you. They'd recorded that leeches will follow you as far as 6 miles

  • "hmm seems I have lost track of the leech.. where..is..it...ahhh it's on my head nooooo!!"

  • sweet dude subscribe and rated

  • Hello clubpenguinhacker121, Thank you for joining! I promise to try and bring new and unique videos. -Kurt :-)

  • wow! whew! i hate those thing! I experienced being suck by that thing when i was only 7 and i SCREAM a lot! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! from then on.. i was too extra carefull everytime i walked in the jungle.

  • You silly bugger, you should have left it there, it's good for you.

  • cool, i used salt to take them off...

  • awesome! 5 stars

  • got the 100th vote :D 5 stars, very educational

  • Quality stuff. Thanks for the intelligent narration.

  • how does it feel when a leech sucks u up?

  • I don't think people always feel it, he had it like 30 mins

It's proved that leechs can transmit ((e)lol don't remember how was typed) HIV, so it's better to use leech socks

  • shut up you pussies! he's just trying to show you an awesome and informative video! 5/5

  • I would have stomp that bitch out, fuck that.........

  • fuckkkkkkk!!!! you are crazyyyyy!! O_O

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

  • its just creepy!

  • i would panic and yell very loud if i saw a leech on my foot. This guy was apparently very excited to have something sucking his blood :P.

  • Leech+tourette's guy=funny shit

  • ...so the leech was on him for 30 minutes??! was he wearing sandals or was he hiking barefoot? wtf. oh yes, this particular leech has been on me for at least 30 minutes.
