  • or you could use a zippo

  • @DMIsREAL exactly

  • @DMIsREAL but with a zippo the fuel evaporates but this dosent take fuel

  • Zippo giveaway on my channel

  • Cool idea, it just doesn't seem like an efficient use of space.

  • When your zippo ran out of fuel it is still kanda the same as this thing... you can just get a cotton ball out wich will have some fuel on it and sthrow some sparks on it with the flint wheel... or am i wrong?

  • msrp ?

  • This has to be for dumb rich folks in yuppy hiking shops. I could a way better one out of an old zippo n some cotton balls.

    Good review but stupid product.

  • this is so lame your better off with a plain zippo you would never use it unless you didnt have a regular lighter.

  • It looks like a nice Gadget. But I think you are simply better off making your own out of some OB tampons and a Bic striker. It's what I use in my kit. But my primary is just a simple Bic Lighter. Might have to see if I can find one. I do like the tinder. The magnesium bars I have are hard to use when you are cold.

  • i clicked on the video because it was orange.

  • its an emergency fire starter it lights in any conditions apart from the wind the wind will blow it out

  • cool

  • this is just a gimmic. if you have a regular zippo (or any lighter) with no fluid, it will still throw a spark, wich is this devices only function, plus holding 3 one time use tinder sticks. so once you make 3 fires, it becomes esentially equivalent to a zippo with no fluid (which can make many fires before runnung out of fluid.) IMO a complete waste of money. if you are in a survival situation, carry a zippo with extra flint, and a container of fluid, and your good to go.

  • if you have a lighter with no fluid and you can't figure out how to make a fire with the sparks alone and what's in your environment...you probably shouldn't be going out into the wilderness in the first place.

  • I got one for Xmas, and I also got a pack of tinder sticks too (really cheap on amazon) I just need to buy flints, but I cant find any locally :(

  • You people are idiots...you've obviously never lived out in the woods, when a bird's near falls out of their tree with no eggs in it, THEY DITCH IT FOREVER AND MAKE A NEW NEST. cutlerylover did nothing wrong.

  • i HAVE ONE :)

    TOO

  • U should have called this video how to kill birds

  • i think the zippo blu has a diffferent lid

  • no wonder those birds are so angry

  • The birds are going to take you to court for arson.

  • one more homeless bird

  • @evanderwal95 birds abandon nests every year. Cardinals make several nests a year, and abandon each, ever year.

  • @PosVibeMerc nice to know

  • you can take your rayon(cotton that soak up fuel) out of a zippo and throw sparks on it with the striker the same thing lol

  • hahahaha he said bush

  • @OneThirdLife he blew on it because fire feeds off of oxygen. If you blow on an ember it will produce a flame.

  • the striker is identical to the Zippo Blu striker assembly.

  • You bird killer! Lol jk

  • waterproof matches would be i think a more energy saving idea over this

  • zippo blu is trash

  • not really stupid belive me when your in the hills its great, i have been stuck and lighters dont like to work after they get wet

  • Stupid device. Zippo's sales must be down because not many people smoke anymore if they're trying to market stuff like this.

  • poor bird

  • @iaanBast95 the nest fell so the bird would have to build a new one anyways.

  • i got mine today

  • Could you put a zippo internal thing in that case?

  • great product for survivorman wanna be's. I'll just pack a regular zippo LOL

  • @mapleslide LOL YEAH, SO FUNNY. But your zippo will dry up in a week, retard.

  • you know you can also use your jeans for tinder, take a sharp knife and drag the blade at a sharpening angle (like 27 degrees) down against the grain of the jeans and a blue fuzz will come off, this is EXTREMELY good tinder

  • but will it blend?

  • they have it in od green and black now

  • or buy a bic for a buck.

  • Stick wools/leaves into the chimney & spark the wheel. That's much effective. Pipe lighters the best for this purpose.

  • you should get a camera in 1080p

  • I like how the wind blows the fire out and your first reaction is to blow on it.

  • what if you run out of the tender sticks?

  • @pinkandbrain1495 it is also waterproof, zippos are no where even CLOSE to being water proof

  • @pinkandbrain1495 first off, zippos, and most lighters, are delicate, precious and sometimes fuel evaporates, I would never take my zippo or any of that with me, but this, can be dinged up, it's bright, and it's light, I did get lost in the woods for 2 nights once and this kept me warm, I can't sit there for 2 hours using a stick, and I didn't bring a bulky, expensive lighter with me. but I had this, it was awesome, I had a roaring fire in about a minute, versus bow tactic, which takes 2 hours

  • could've just taken a lighter -.-

  • the link doesnt work

  • Lmao. Dude you awesome. before i buy anything zippo related, i watch your videos

  • no not murphys law finagles law

  • 1:09 - The wind didn't blow it out, you blew it out. You're not blowing out a candle, you are just gently feeding oxygen into the flame. Start out softly, like a baby's breath, and as the embers grow, blow harder.

  • why couldn't you just by a regular zippo?

  • @soap46311 because with a regular zippo after a while the fuel evaporates and you need to refill it and i think if you had a bottle of fluid you wouldn't need an emergency fire starter.

  • Dude, you're gonna have little red birds bombarding your fortress now.

  • Buddy Briquettes are similar, but they burn for 10 minutes each and are even cheaper than Zippo tinder sticks.

  • cant you get the cotton of a zippo and just spark it till in catches fire ? well havent tried it but i guess it would work..

  • later that day his eyes were pecked out.

  • doesnt seem like a very effective tool but it is very small and mobile i would give it a 7/10 but very good breif review. thank you

  • 17 homeless birds are very upset at you.

  • I made one myself out of a zippo lighter

  • Really !? ... Though Zippo makes fine lighters, this product is incredibly LAME, at any price-point, when compared to the Blast-Match or the Strike-force or the Sweedish Steel (or any generic rod) ...

... And, of course, the ubiquitous cotton+pjelly is superior to their "proprietary tinder", as well.

... NO WAY anyone should consider this as a reliable "life-line" ... not even as a back-up device ... CLEARLY would be useless, in the rain or when wet.

Zippo should just "fuggetaboutit" ! !

  • @102joey really? way to copy the top voted comment.

  • or you could just use your lighter to light up some cotton then put in the dry wood SAVE MONEY@@@

  • Is that really, just a flick... From a flint like, O, that big...

It also being the same size, makes me fairly sure that I'm just going to grab the actual lighter, and a firestick.

Good review, bad product, my opinion.

  • well... im pretty sure that flint wont last u 20 yrs if u actually use it... and the flint wont work well wet..

  • chuck norris doesnt need a lighter hes just touches wood and it burns o.O

  • Bear grills could use twigs and have done it in less time

  • why cant you just use a lighter to make the fire

  • @MRWYATTMANDO because it runs out, but what i don't understand is that you only get 4 sticks with the zippo, so they will run out quicker than a lighter, it costs a lot to buy more sticks but you can buy more lighters easily, this product renders pointless to me.

  • @MRWYATTMANDO: a time in the army (or subsistence) could teach you that isn't so simple to have fire. It's the same to have fuel...

  • @MRWYATTMANDO fuel leaks

  • @MRWYATTMANDO watch the whole vid and he explains why

  • @MRWYATTMANDO The point of this if it's under conditions where a regular Zippo would get wet. It's for outdoors mainly.

  • @mcg413 not to mention that a good zippo will run out of fluid even if you don't use it because it evaporates.

  • @mcg413

myself if i knew i would possibly need a way to light a fire id take a butane lighter and tie it up in a non lubed condom, when its needed just rip it out and it will be totaly dry

  • @OhNoNotMyPenis True, but I was talking about Zippos. You know, the reliable windproof one? If you need to light a fire in an emergency, where it's fucking cold and windy, your butane lighter would stand no chance unless you set the condom on fire. Plus, you know a butane lighter can run out, right? So, you'd be 100% fucked if you brought a regular old disposable Bic.

  • @mcg413 zippos claim to be water proof

  • @toykicksass No windproof

  • @toykicksass dont be an idiot zippo are Windproof not waterproof

  • @toykicksass Where the fuck did you here that? Zippos are windproof, because the chimney prevents wind from putting out the flame completely. Think about it: the fuel in Zippos are constantly evaporating and can be easily diluted by water, meaning if the wick gets wet with just a couple drops, because it's so absorbant, you're fucked. This isn't even a question of a misunderstanding. Anyone with a basic knowledge of fire would know this.

  • @mcg413 you could use the zippo striker

  • @AgentBuggy47 On what? Gasoline? That's why they made this product: it's a Zippo striker with pieces of flammable cloth that won't get wet.

  • @mcg413 zippo works even wet... ask the guys who were in Vietnam.

  • @MRWYATTMANDO well, the lighter may have ran out of fuel or something :P

  • Comment removed

  • @MRWYATTMANDO it's just a novelty.

  • Eh, I wouldn't use an actual birdsnest, birdsnests often have dried mud in them - doesn't really burn well.

  • @almost all of the comments. I agree it is a waste it just takes longer to light things

  • Seems kind of pointless when you could just buy a lighter...

  • If you have a zippo emergency kit why wouldn't you have a lighter?

  • why wouldnt you just use your regular zippo? i mean if you have an emergency one, im sure you could have brought a normal one xD

  • is this paul blart?

  • @austinpodann hahahahaha mall coop guy'??

  • @panchis3503 yep, he has the same voice i swear

  • just buy a REAL zippo duh

  • @heymynameistyler zippo fuel evaporates and aren't waterproof

  • waste of 20 bucks

  • ulgkytrd;oytd

  • do u have to refill it??

  • So he puts out his own fire..

  • firesteal is better

  • the birds nest was abandoned.. do you think the birds take it with them when they grow up?

  • hey guize im gona demonstrate by burning this baby bird egg nest

  • hey guize im gona demonstrate this zippo by burning this baby bird egg nest.

  • what happens wen the bird cums back?

  • That poor bird who lost his home

  • they make orange black and green

  • everyone buy a couple zippo blu's, it's so shitty that im sure they'll discontinue production, and it 10 years from now, it might be worth a fortune!!

  • lol the dry grass bundle loooks like a birds nest

  • damn it i need a cigarate now its an emergency !

  • why would you get this??? just get a regular light

  • Just get a real flint that thing sucks or bring a damn lighter

  • just use the regular lighter

  • I love Zippo's website ad for this. "I pity the fool who only brought matches."

  • balls

  • where can you get these from?

  • this only has 4 cotton balls a regular zippo is more effective it throws a flame until you run out of fluid then it has 5 cotton balls inside and the same spark throwing capabilities, and you can store extra flint in a regular

  • Birds: YOU PIECE OF SHIT! DO I BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN?!

  • jeff, what do u think would be best to take hunting?, a regular zippo, this, or a firesteel?

  • @southerncountryboy8 zippo if you keep it in a airtight case by far

  • @Bsmitty358 k thanks

  • @southerncountryboy8 well i recommend you have this because it lights easily, but if you are out on days on end by far i would recommend a firesteel with lots of cotton(for easy ignition).Never Take Your ZIPPO!!!!(it will break if you get it in water).

  • @jamesb3947 ok thanks alot. I think im just gonna start bringing my firesteel.

  • I think this is useless. It is better to purchase a swedish fire steel and/or stormproof matches.

  • But does it float in water?

  • Or get a lighter

  • heh heh heh out in the bush

  • Uhhh... A bic lighter doesn't leak...

  • a lighter can run out of fuel but the fire starter only lights 4 times for2.50

  • zippo should make a compartment in the zippos that hold the tinder sticks just incase of your zippo runs out of fuel

  • Where did you buy this?

  • just use a flint on a regular zippo

  • Just to point out....your idea of "long term". I'll bet I can find zippo "fluid" in a store before you find zippo "wax sticks", and therefore, my regular Zippo will be more useful long term. Now, the REAL benefit is the waterproofness and the storage space. I can stuff that with laundry lint or any other tinder I may find while hiking and always keep it dry. I can even melt a bit of wax onto my homemade tinder with my emergency candle. I wouldn't burn the stuffing of my "Regluar" zippo.

  • there is a cheaper way just when ur bic lighter runs out turn the flint the other way and use lightet fluid to put back in side the lighter and the u hav fluid and a starter

  • The whole time i wanted to push down that one tinder stick that was sticking out more then the other two.

  • wax matches seem easy...

  • U can take a normal zippo take out the cloth this is ofcourse if u dont have it fueled and spark the cloth which wil probably stil be drenched a bit in lighter fluet

  • You could of put that birds nest back! I bet It took the bird a while To make that!!!!

  • >: O

  • why ur burning birds nest you moron

  • thet wili stupid men

  • the bird who made that nest is going 2 be pissed off

  • @benhayesnet1234 he greifed tht shit.

  • were i come from that's called sod's law, not Murphy's law haha

  • Does it come with the tindersticks?

  • @DustinTheGoth comes with the cotton, the tinder youll have to find on your own

  • They don't put o-rings around the regular zippo lighter so you use more money on fuel

  • @jeffhamm they don't put o-rings around the regular zippo cuz its a classic, and i think everyone would be pretty sad to see such a change to the design, also, i dont think rubber likes fire

  • this not a original ZIPPO

  • @bombale99

    Yes it is.

  • @bombale99 uhm. duh?

  • sei un figlio di puttana!!!lo sai che stai bruciando un nido???

che ne dici se un uccello gigante viene a casa tua e te la brucia???

  • @gianizzo ya i understand

  • i kinda think you blew it out

  • its like a blu but no butane just cotton and wax

  • tinder bun =) sounds delicious

  • Download the audio from this song at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • that would be more cool if it was an zippo insert

  • Why to waste money. I would pay a lot for a beautiful Zippo, but for an emergency one???? If you get an old Clipper lighter you'll get a free energency "sparker" just pulling out that piece. The small ones can not be refilled. Once empty, take that piece out

  • Does it has a space for extra flint? like down in the hole the striker tube goes. On my zippo i always put a few flints under the cotton plug inside the lighter so when i run out of flint i just pull out the insert and lift the cottonplug and there is my flint ,but i'am sure everyone knows about that tip, right? I was just askig about this gizmo in the video,i'am sure if i had one in my hands i could come up with something ,like under the starters.the flint tube hole would be great,if possable

  • @culterylover

The peanutlighter from countycomm can be dropped in the water cause it has an O ring

  • Why cant you just bring a normal zippo. When you run out of fluid you could just use the cotton balls in the insert and the flint, way way way way cheaper, easer, and better.

  • Do you know if there is any space under the insert to hide a few other items like needle and thread or some fish hooks? Seems like there would be an inch or so.

  • Are you kidding me? 4.95 for some cotton swabs dipped in wax? Ill just make my own and stick them in there. It is not hard to get cotton down to a compressed size then just dipping it in wax, in fact, I can spend 4.95 and probably make a few hundred of those firestarters (A bag of cotton balls is like 2 dollars)

  • Survive with Class

  • What's with all the survival gear hype and why does anyone think this is a good idea? Why not just stock up on the cheapest gas lighters, buy a 100 pack if you must and you're pretty much set forever, and in case of an apocalypse (if it doesn't involve fire by itself), you'll light a fire in one strike.
