  • So how much do you want for this 4runner!!! Or tell me where you bought that engine so i can have one in my 1990 4runner Please!!

  • Thats some big fiberglass!!! 4runners are so sexy!!!

  • So i have been watching this video over and over for a while now. I would like to know if you also changed the transmission is this 4runner automatic/manual...i have many questions send me an e-mail

  • man i would pay big bucks to get that pretty baby

  • where did you get the wide body? or is it custom? cuz that looks sick

  • also props to steve stone for building that great car

  • THATS JED'S CAR! THAT THING IS SO FUN! though i think it just chills at his house now. one day tho when he returns i will hop in and have a blast once again. good times. thanks for the video

  • @Motorchevytoyota I know it fits in a t100 but thats got alittle more room... im thinkin about a 4.7 swap now or maybe just the 3.4 supercharged

  • i just bought a 86 4x4 ext cab pickup with your stage 2 motor. its efi also. would a small turbo be ok on this motor? idk whats the compression or what the internals are like.

  • what type of turbo kit is that called?

that canister is a cone venturi thing right?

  • ran about 15 MPG? I guess? Just like a Jet!

  • 1uz twin turbo would be the best bet.

  • a 5.7 iforce is my plan for my 4runner that has a 350 in it now... does anyone know if someone makes a swap kit for the iforce

  • First off beautiful rig. Secondly you huys should do a vid just like this one but with your Supercharger kit on the 22re

  • I recently bought your atk street performer 22re. I got your LC. enginering headers, and throttle body. I like the engine, but it feels like it needs to get in the pipe faster when i dump the clutch. I have and 87 xtra cab 4x4. Running 31x10.5 toyo open country MT. 3 inch lift. Any advice?

  • just curious what kind of fox shocks are you using and what size. also where did you get the baja bumper? thanks

  • Me pesonally Id throw in a supercharged 4.7 2uz-fe v8 or a 4.6 Yota i-force!!

  • The 4.7 has not been the strongest block to use for an engine swap. We think you meant to say the 5.7 liter "I-force and as of now to expensive of a engine and not sure if it would fit.

  • @LCEPower Yeah, I heard that the 4.7's TRD supercharger isnt offered anymore because the 2uz couldnt handle the load. But honestly, Id throw in a Lexus LS 460 4.6 engine. It makes 380hp and about 315 ft. lbs torque. That would be perfect for a runner, or of course, the 1uzfe (popular) 4.0l lexus v8, 4.6 i-FORCE engine (Toyota's version) or the 5.7 with n/a or S/C. Cool.

  • @LCEPower dude i kno people who has corvette engines in there hondas so im pretty sure it would fit lol

  • Damn I want that. How much for all the parts?

  • tire weight and size does and does not affect hp, it does in a way that its part of the drivetrain so a small percentage is affected but then again its not realistic to consider it a loss because you need tires to put power to the ground. so to be mature about it tires shouldnt even be a subject of controversy.

  • get a v8 and pull double that horsepower lol

  • , they didn't build yota to drive around the city, you need oversized tires to go OFF ROAD, and that why you put differnt gears in your truck to run bigger tires

  • man, that would go well in my celica..

  • what wheels are on that 4runner

  • would been cheaper to just throw a chevy SB in it and actually make some real horsepower or ls1 it. Anyways pretty sick set up man im diggin it.

  • about what rpm

  • I'm surprised you're not pushing atleast 250 hp, with a solid build, lots of bolt-ons and 10psi of boost.

  • @coolcono100 i don't know how much it affects trucks on dyno's but tire size and weight can hurt horsepower.

  • @gable00015 Not to be an ass but weight and tire size don't affect horsepower.

  • @theblackcrowe2003 actually they do

  • @180boyz Bullshit. If my car has 300 horsepower, it won't have less because I put different tires on it. How does tire size affect the horsepower that the ENGINE puts out?

  • @theblackcrowe2003 it fucks the gear ratio therefore killing your pick up, not to mention its alot more work for the engine to spin oversized tires

  • @blazinloud I agree. Oversized tires are a stupid idea.

  • @theblackcrowe2003 it will not effect "brake horse power" which is the power measured at the crank, but it WILL effect "wheel horse power" which is the power measured at the wheels. Stating that the wheels don't effect it would mean that you also believe that the transmission, differential, axles, and everything else in the drive train don't effect it either, wheels and tires are part of the drive-train and they contribute to drive-train power losses.

  • @twistedsymphony Wheels and tires are actually part of the chaisis department. Drive train stops after the axles. ;) good stuff though. It's true you can have bad wheel runnout or even tread wear patterns. wheels and tires sure play an important role in your traction.

  • your truck looks clean man!!!

  • can you do a 0-60 test vid?

  • nice ive got just about the same sett up as that from LC engineering there badass fukin motors i luv it compared to the stock 22re that my yota came with orginally

  • Those are pretty stout numbers, but the only negative I see is that the power doesn't get above 100 horses until like 3200-3300 rpm. I understand that factory numbers are less than this at each point throughout the powerband (especially above 3500), but is there any way to get these big numbers to come on one or two thousand RPM's earlier in the powerband to make pulling trailers and cargo more efficient? or is this not possible with turbo 4's?

  • @dixiemudtoy down low go supercharger....

  • im looking to boost my speed i have a 4spd but i still want the reliabilty of a 22r still

  • Very nice, man. I'm looking to turbo my '95 22re powered 4runner. Hopefully it will become a reality. Well done!

  • the 22re is a 4 cylinder to clear up any confusion. Great engine, i have an 88 4runner with a 3vze 3.0 v6. althought its supposed to be the worst engine toyota ever made, i have 264k + and its still kickin! leaks oil thats about all thats wrong with it.

  • @brandonbosch86 Plus gets about 11 mpg. At least my 4runner did.

  • i think for some reason the first v6 engine which they came out with in 88 was actually properly built it seems that the ones after that especially in the 1990 -95 4runners had a head gasket issue. i havent come across to any v6 engines in the 1st gen 4runners that have the head gasket issue.

  • @1tonyota I just had some work on my head Gaskets so how much more problems do you suppose I will have?

  • @dawsomd1 im guessing if uy use good oil and do the timing belt also prob none for atleast another 200,000

  • @1tonyota Ok so how about power....I have the 3.slow V6 and I know its weak but any Ideas for more power? Ive already replaced the air filter.... Im running 31's on it now they are kellys safari tire,And its still WEAK!

  • @dawsomd1 get headers 6 platinum spark plugs with the 4 prongs on the bottom cold air intake and new cat a nice exhauist system. i say new cat cause when u blow a head gasket all that wate and oil going down the tailpipe will clogg the cat. that should help and maybe a cam upgarde. not sure how the cams do on the v6. but a cam and headers on a stock 22re can give u alot more noticable power.

  • @1tonyota 4 prongs at the Bottom?

  • @dawsomd1 yes 4 prongs at the bottom where the spark sparks.

  • @dawsomd1 regear......

  • thats alot of work for pretty small numbers. VW 2.0l aba block with a 16v head on it strapped with a custom turbo manifold, then custom turbo kit and downpipe and exhaust would make numbers of 500 - 700 hp.... thats a inline 4 cylinder with probly the same money spent as you have here.

  • all the money spent on those weak numbers ... put a damn v8 in it already

  • Love it mate, a very familiar note to me with a 22RE on boost. I'll post a video response of my 22RE custom turbo set up. Probably making similar power to yours but without those big tires to turn, my at the wheels power is a little more.

What limiter are you running, or when are you running out of revs?

  • I wish ppl would stop posting THEIR experiences with THEIR motors and telling me it's better than an engine with way less moving parts & has been around in one form or another 2 or 3x longer.

And unless you've researched what other countries have had them to, stop telling everybody YOUR experience with an engine made for the US market only

Please stop. The 20/22R has achieved Legendary status. YOUR engine, b/c it hasn't broke down in 200k highway miles & has been out for a few years has not

  • That's a great improvement over a stock 22r but is also a lot of dough to make 240 crank hp. I've never seen a bro-runner'd out 4-runner with flared fenders; it looks good.

  • its a 22re

  • looks like this guy has at least 6k in suspension lol

  • is that on the v6 motor or 4 cylinder motor??

  • @mattstracener I'm pretty sure it's a 4 cylinder. If you look at the second picture before the dyno pull you can see 4 red wires which I believe to be plug wires.

  • the 22re is a 4 cylinder fuel injected motor. the 22r is carburated

  • is this for sale on craigslist?

  • I hate you so much right now..

Haha one day my truck will have a motor like that >=D

  • hey i got a 1991 4runner v6, m thinking of dropping a 22re turbo'ed in it, good idea or not?

  • No, get a 3.4 5vzfe. MUCH better motor, you get only slightly less power then this with the stock 5vz in NA form.

Add a supercharger and you can get 250rwhp+

With that said, this is a nice truck and i would rock it!

  • If you're talking about making power, then yeah, duh, the engine with two more cylinders will do it.

If you're talking about the better engine, as far as longevity, reliability and durability you're wrong.

Depends on what you want to do with it which makes one a better choice. But by no means is a 5vze a better engine than a 22RE... HAHA!!! that makes me laugh...

"No, get a Viper V10 engine. MUCH better motor, you get only slightly less power than this with the stock..."

  • @F0ckUtoob 135k of HARD driven supercharged miles on my 5vz and still going strong.......

I will leave it at that.

  • @F0ckUtoob I have a 95 t100 5vze and a 93 pickup with a 22re. I have to say from experience that the 5vze is the better engine. the 22re is a tank but I've been towing a heavy trailer for 10 years now and the only things I've done to the v6 is plugs, replaced a coil pack, changed the oil and replaced the timing belt once. I have 225,000 miles now. No leaks, no oil consumption. Even supercharged, my friend's Tacoma has 200k with no problems. Both engines are great but I prefer the 3.4 v6.

  • I am looking at a 93 4 runner. I offered $1800

is that a good price??? Please respond

  • Depends if the 4Runner needs work and so on.

  • got my 96 4runner for 3500 so i would say its about right

  • i sold mine for 100..but mine was the beat the hell up..they are super tough

  • Hey Thats Now the Nicest Bakkie(Pickup) I ever soon or heard . Nice toy man! ;)

  • lots of money put into it. LC Parts are not cheap! very nice rig!

  • i've always been a big fan of the 22R-E engine, especially in the 85 Celica GT-S,awesome vid and good numbers

  • Anybody that disses on this ride is just jealous. Period. AWESOME ride.

Hey HATERS! When you diss on this make sure and let us know what you roll around in,deal?

  • How Much If I would Ship It to South Africa ? Man I would have Fun here with it .Drop a Bmw.LOL

  • could probably get 30 more hp with an intercooler and tuning to match. EVERY turbo engine should have an intercooler, heat is the enemy. Cold air is way more dense. Just add an intercooler, richen up your mixture a lil, and advance the timing a couple degrees. Then go out and test it on a cold day...

  • thanks for clarifying, Wikipedia

  • Is that 'big baller' sarcasm or are you thankin me? I don't think it's the latter. I'm not reading anything off wik, I actually build the shit. Go forth, keyboard warrior. Oh yeah, jettas are 4 bitches.

  • my jetta would stomp whatever you got...( got vids to prove)

    i wasnt being sarcastic btw

  • have you heard of the 3000gt vr4...even a stock one would make your cute little jetta feel like its a geo metro

  • those are pieces

  • @EPzti actually, that car is only fast in Gran Turismo. It's VERY heavy, built on a Chrysler platform, and the engine is prone to...well....blowing up.

    Go with a Subaru.

    But this 4runner is BADASS!

  • @cliquehop u had one 2 turbos and all wheel drive will move any amount of weight and i never played gran trismo

  • @JuicedJetta

Stop hating on this runner, its apparent that this guy spent a lot of time and effort building a very nice truck. If you don't like it, then don't respond. You drive Germany's version of a Honda Civic...WOW can I have your number???

  • @dixiemudtoy yea i do and....?

yea ill give you my number, you still live at your moms? cuz i GOT her number.

  • @JuicedJetta

what vids are you talking about? all i see is a riced out jetta with cold air intake and a factory 10psi of boost driving out in the middle of nowhere. This runner is only running a third of its boost capabilities at 10 psi on the dyno; I would love to see your jetta keep up with this truck on a desert run, which is what it was built for.

  • @dixiemudtoy i dont see how its riced.... at all... your kinda retarded...germany dont export rice dumbshit.. those vids are old as fuck....this thing couldnt even keep up with me .... offroad sure, my car is lowered....

  • all that and only 197 hp...

  • trucks probly way faster than any rig you drive

  • where did you get the front and rear fender flares?

  • "Hotamber22" your mom qualifies for "cash for old hookers!" as a way of getting them off the streets!

  • Just another crybaby that wishes he bought a Toyota.

  • Wow! I love the looks of the engine. The turbo seems a bit too big but who cares...

  • where can i get your bumper?i want it

  • were can i find pic of the 4runner.... it looks sooo nice......

  • I wanna boost my tacoma.

  • nice rig, thats awesome, now if only you could remove the top like on the older 1st gen 4runners!

  • You cant go wrong with LC.

  • what kind of mpg do you get, ive got an 86 4x4 xcab truck, 22R-bored .30 over, weber 32/36 carb, pace setter header, catalytic off, dynomax muffler, D.U.I. distributor, as soon as the warranty expires in 3 yrs, im going to add an LC engineering cam and have the head ported and polished, I can't have anything done internally to the engine because it will void the warranty, i use it as a daily driver, it has a 2" body lift and 265/75/16's (32" mastercraft courser ct tires), im happy with it

  • how much boost psi?

  • alta chata....

  • beautiful truck. ive been building toyotas for years. its just a damn shame that they require so much money to make any kind of power.

  • i wonder if the rear fenders would fit on a 3rd gen

  • Amazing! motor, bodywork, suspension, exhaust. WOw. That had to cost quite a bit

  • Is that an intercooler before the throttle body? I always see those on drags cars and never knew what the hell it was since it wasnt the obvious air-to-air

  • A 7M swap would have been more cost effective

  • i think one reason it puts down only 197hp is because the big tires? i think. my friend has a 22r ae86 and its NA and puts 201 to the wheels.

  • it would make the same horsepower with any other sized tires. tire size just shifts the curve, but doesnt change it's shape

  • Larger tires and more drivetrain components increase rotating mass which reduces HP measured at the wheels. The actual diameter of the tires as far as leverage is concerned is compensated for by the dyno setup and configuration, but it does not take into account rotating mass (though it could, but would have to be recalculated for each car), dyno operators dont normally do this because they either dont have the software functions or are lazy. A dyno is only as accurate as its calibration

  • where did you get your front baja fenders?

  • i so want to see that thing in action

  • Thats a whole lota of money, for some pretty small numbers.

  • Those are great numbers, ive seen supercharged 5vz's putting down less whp.

  • only 197 on 10 psi?? wtf?? What's it make stock?

  • Comment removed

  • @TJcars2

Trucks with mileage (100,000+) usually only put out about 100-110 at the crank, so thats about 75-85 at the wheels. 197 at the wheels with 35" (I'm assuming) is a hell of a jump. Very nice rig.

  • What you got for internals on there???

  • cool!! anybody knows what type of exhaust that sounds very monstrous and in the same time suitable for offroad use??

  • 93 Toyota 4-Runner with LC Engineering Stage 3 22RE longblock, LCE turbo kit, Pro fuel injection, full 3" stainless steel exhaust with Magnaflow muffler

  • excellent vids lets see it burnout!

  • where can i find a bumper like that

and will it hold a winch

  • 200 hp an a thing that big

  • gears

  • what do you have tuning it? couldn't the stock motor hold up 10psi?

  •

damn all that on a 22r? why

  • you answered your own question, because its a 22RE.

  • if you ever boost a 22R you'll find out why.. =p

  • ahahah sorry to say ... all that money for 197 hp ... to me, not worth it

  • thats fucking dirty, I can't wait to throw a turbo in my 22re work truck.

  • how much boost?

  • About 10psi

  • Where did you get those Baja body panels from?? there nice

  • very nice
