Here in CO you're lucky if you don't have to pay to have your recyclables picked up - at best you can drop them off for free (or have them picked up for free if you are in a house (not a condo or apartment) in Denver. Can banks like what you were depositing into are few and far between and that whole trash can of cans would have earned you maybe 30 cents.
