  • I think people need to read "THE STAND" by Stephen King. Enough said. Read it! You'll get my meaning.

  • chumer is a MORON

  • @anjelina1940 how stupid are you, gonzales was proven to being a liar, now who's the stupid one.

  • Now that it is Out in 2009 this program was illegal and wanted to earse the 1st amendment and the 4th amendment- I say someone is guilty of rape fraud murder and so EVIL__ that rights f USA citzens where wanted to be quashed from knowing what UGLY Americans profitted off of illegailty-- I calling out a slavery using technolgy and telecommunications since those Industries need immunity- And are making a profit Like At & T- It is a recession and they are making money- that means they also heard

  • The whole governing class of the Federal Government should be thrown out on its ear.

  • @clint525fuller

Did you say this, before Obama took office?

    Hmmm

  • Schumer.......what a joke.

  • Schumer wants to use funds from our low tax rates to provide funding for a hippie museum?

    Is he trip'in?

  • Schumer should be jailed for creating the IndyMac failure- - I swear these Democrats are invested in the failure of the United States whereever they can find it - Schumer, Pelosi, Reid...I smell American Revolution II.

  • Hunter S. checked out too early. He would have loved this. At the very least, the sorry bastard cashed his chips in before finding another.

  • Hunter S. Thompson would RISE FROM HIS GRAVE to see this if he hadn't shot himself through the head.

  • Hey, he may still.

    ZOMBIE THOMPSON.

Both crave brains. *ba dum ching*.

  • ffs and people say there is no conspiracy. This guy was getting orders from the people who really run the country.

  • In a democratic country this guy would have been thrown bodily onto the pavement months ago already. This schmuck is supposed to be Attorney General of the United States. I wonder why the US is making so much noise about Iraq, Iran or North Korea. The US is WORSE than they are! Gonzo is like the Iraqi spokesman who claimed there were no Americans in Bagdad.

  • wowthung: "The US is WORSE than they are!"

Besides the atrocious grammar, you've given no support or proof of your assertion. Amazing how that happens whenever political retards open their mouths.

    "In a democratic country"

Might want to look up the word 'democratic', it has to do with voting simply and purely, it speaks nothing to policy or rights.

  • Atrocious grammar? Really? Mmmm, probably does need some work. 'no evidence' -500 characters, sugar. Short: Gonzo is the AG of the US, not just working for Bush. And the way he weasels around the questions is just plain shameful. Democratic voting. Um... do I recall correctly that some people have been convicted of voter fraud in the 2004 election? Voter fraud: not my idea of democracy.

  • wowthun: "some people have been convicted of voter fraud...not my idea of democracy"

Logic again, is not your butt buddy: Because there was some voter fraud, the US is, therefore, not a democracy? Hmm..isn't that akin to saying, "Doctors cure people, Dr. Doe's patient was not cured, therefore Dr. Doe is not a doctor"?

    Shame on you.

  • Come on, Irpwny. I mention Ohio as a place where people were convicted of voter fraud, as an undisputable example. There is an abundance of reports on the net of problems with people voting, with voting machines, with uncounted votes, with people barred from voting. All to demonstrate that the fundament of democracy is corroded. It's not one instance, there are very many instances. Combined with this administration's demonstrated willingness to lie about fundamental issues, this causes concern.

  • wowthung: "All to demonstrate that the fundament of democracy is corroded"

Nah, democracy is an institution and spirit, it has nothing to do with voting machines that break down or people who are barred from voting (do these, pray tell, include illegal immigrants, felons, underaged voters, people who *gasp* have voted already?)

  • wowthung: "with this administration's demonstrated willingness to lie"

Ah right, the brilliant causal connection: Bush has lied, therefore there is no democracy.

    Don't be stupid.

  • Bush uses the system of government to promote the cause of his friends, starts an atrociously executed conflict that makes the rule of a dictator seem preferable, plunges the nation in so much debt, against the best interests of the American people, that it will take at least two generations to chew through, uses the war and his status of CiC to curtail government and expand his powers and at the same time is accountable to no one. In your world that is called democracy. Don't invite me.

  • wowthung: "Bush uses the system of government to promote the cause of his friends"

yadda yadda -- Do you ever substantiate your claims, or do you sit there and whine until people believe you?

"the rule of a dictator seem preferable" Not quite, talk to any Iraqi and you'll find this out (these are a friend's words): although it's terrible now in Baghdad, I would NEVER want to live under Hussein again.

"and expand his powers" Hmm..remind you of Clinton?

    ..continued

  • wowthung: "In your world that is called democracy"

Once again: democracy has only to do with voting. It has nothing to do with war, debt, or what kind of toilet paper George wipes himself with.

"is accountable to no one" Hmm..might want to spruce up on your American history and Constitution.

"nation in so much debt" Nah, the deficit is at 8 trillion: versus how many trillions the United States takes in a year?

  • wowthunsten: another nutjob on the loose - easily recognized by their rant of hysterical radical liberal Democrat verbal diarrhea splatter and flamboyant use of shrill nonsensical points(?), lol. Stop nibbling on the prozac and swallow the whole pill. God Bless Conservative America. President Bush is a great American!

  • The great American has willingly and knowingly lied the country into war. There is no more grievous offense when it comes to abuse of executive power. This man has made a joke of the rule of law an so far he is accountable to no one. When I object to that I am a hysterical radical liberal democrat [as opposed to the driving need of some to go to war no matter the cost?]. I am scared of people who perceive no threat from the abuse of executive power. Do people think of you as a gullible person?

  • Talk about a NUTJOB! bush is a stupid, fucking chicken hawk that didn't have the balls to serve this country. He couldn't even get the hell out of his chair and react when the twin towers were under attack. The USA was attacked under the self-serving Republican administration! Why do the right wing nut jobs ALWAYS forget to bring that up? "We were attacked under my republican dictatorship and I'd like 4 more of those wonderfully destructive years." Shit, we have found a dumber pair, Mclame/Palin

  • It's all coming apart now. Even if Bush doesn't get impeached, it's a joy to watch him leave off in disgrace, even if it is at the end of his term of office

  • God help us all with lying morons like Gonzales running out Gov't...All these bastards should be in jail.

  • If the true powers that be in the USA were to read the bull spewed here, they would know how truly blind and divided their people are, and these lies, and the death of your soldiers, and the subversion of your constitution, and the sacrifice of your rights will go on and on til no American can ever remember what it was like to be a free man.

  • so they can remain buddhist? You just have a problem with the penis thing. Did you know jesus copied the body and blood ritual from the cult of Bacchus(God of wine and fertility)? So in essence all christians are worshipping a false god. Learn it on the net.

  • This is disgusting.

  • Never trust anyone who wears a lapel flag pin. They are false patriots.

  • answer the phucking question, he needs to either answer the question or step down. this is complete bull5hit

  • Gonzales is one of the most disgusting bootlickers ever! Bush/Cheney have surrounded themselves with sycophants who will lie and break laws because they know nothing will happen to them. Just look at Libby. With Bush the American people elected an EMPEROR, not a president. What's most sad is that the Republican Senators and Congressman have allowed him to get away with it. The Republicans have no respect for the rule of law when it's one of theirs. HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe this has gone as long as it has. Just Unbelievable!

    IMPEACH!

  • Rallying around a flag and needing to have a common enemy for a "leaders" continued survival are common signs of a fascist state. We are be lead like livestock to slaughter, and just continuing to enjoy our easy chairs and fast food while the beat goes on.

  • as long we get that extra cheese on our pizza and a double coke (for the price of one), how can life be so threatening?....!

  • the people in the white house are practicing the methods of nazi germay like back then, there is no doubt about it!!! it is so big that one can hardly see it. for example until europe noticed it, it was to late!!!

  • these fuckers have to be shot! it would save a lot of peoples lives!

  • i would watch what you put out here on the internet, trying these people for treason and executing them on a legal basis is the proper way to say it. or watch whitest kids you know that states "did you know it is illegal to say"

  • Ron Paul

    2008

    Hope For America

    BE Apart Of It

  • Chemical Ali "we were there on behalf of the President" it may have worked.

  • scum

  • Incredible. Was this real?

  • do you now wonder why so many people think that 911 was an inside job? just look at the blatint disrespect for their country treasonous

  • the nazis burned down the reichstag in order to gain political power to pull their evil program. 9/11 is no different regarding the bush and cheney program and the newkons (the new american order).

  • last i heard is that bin laden had nothing to do with 911

"we've never made the case or argued the case that somehow bin laden was directly involved in 911. that evidence has never been forthcoming" dick cheney 2006 whitehouse dot gov

"911 is not mentioned on osama bin ladens most wanted page. he has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 911 because the fbi has no hard evidence connecting bin laden to 911" rex tomb fbi agent fbi dot gov

  • Gonzales is a liar and a threat to freedom. He breaks the law he is supposed to enforce. Bush never appoints non-criminals. Just another Neocon pig. "the enemy domestic or foreign". Jail that criminal now!

  • wow, gonzales is an ass; who signed this guy up?

  • Why don't all you Libs stop whining? Gonzales is a true American hero. By wasting his time with all these invasive and personal questions, these so-called senators are just helping the enemy. Anyway, there's nothing in the constitution that says a member of the Administration has to tell the truth to dumocrats.

  • Ahh haa haaa! Invasive and personal questions? This is in no way invasive and personal. But I do think asking someone about their sex life is.

    TylerNull, is this you?

  • Wake up! He refuses to answer a question before the committee! He's OBLIGED to be ACCOUNTABLE! This is almost CRIMINAL!

  • coldice: "He's OBLIGED"

Not quite, not on certain matters of "national importance" or when the question is intended to pry into the "happenings" of a private conversation between the President and his staff. If they were (or could be, in the future) obligated to divulge every nit picking detail of their conversations no one would be bold enough to speak their minds about any matter, ever.

  • "Anyway, there's nothing in the constitution that says a member of the Administration has to tell the truth to dumocrats."

You're defending not telling the truth? This is so twisted I'm speechless!

Also: The committee consists of Republicans as well (Specter for example)!

  • At a minimum, and believe me he is minimal, he's an officer of the court and is bound by the truth in all circumstances. You should at least read the cliff notes on Pol Sci 101 even if you can't actually get into college.

  • Gonzo is a complete moron. Why do the American people have to put up with this? What is wrong with Republicans that they can't see this is making us a laughing stock around the world. Get rid of this guy!

  • What is this country coming to? Commit crimes and just dodge around the subject? This man need to be burned alive in front of a crowd!

  • charlie: "Commit crimes and just dodge around the subject?"

    What crimes, pray tell?

And dodge around the questions? Nah, "I can't tell who" excludes and includes no one.

  • The crime: They tried to make Ashcroft sign their eaves-dropping program which he had considered illegal, although Ashcroft was in hospital and had given his authority to his deputy and therefore was not in charge. The deputy did not sign the program, they implemented it regaredless (The deputy, James Comey, therefore resigned from office).

  • coldice: Yes ma'am, warrantless wire tapping (hell, the entire patriot act) are supremely unconstitutional.

Him refusing to answer a question is not a crime.

  • Contempt is a crime. He is not invoking the 5th or claiming executive privilege. In full contempt of the congress he is not answering direct questions because to answer them would be bad for the white house.

  • ceeen: Nah, you have a right not to incriminate yourself. It isn't a blanket "all or none" policy.

    Go learn some law.

  • "Nah, "I can't tell who" excludes and includes no one."

This is what dodging around the question means! Why doesn't he just answer the question if he has nothing to hide?

  • coldice: Two fallacies:

    1) It's dodging the question, but you mistake the cause: it's to exclude no one and implicate no one.

    2) "if he has nothing to hide" -- If he has nothing to hide, then why does he have to show it? Especially considering that the duty to prove a crime has been committed falls squarely in the lap of the plaintiff, not the defendant. The accuser, not the accused. Etc.

  • OK You're right that not answering a question is not a crime. But you have to admit that what he and the administration are doing is totally against what the government is supposed to do. This doesnt resemble democracy at all. Bush wont ask him to resign either because he's the only person who would maintain this stance on this matter. Any other would reveal the truth as long as they had a conscience.

  • charlie: "But you have to admit that what he and the administration are doing is totally against what the government is supposed to do."

I think they're being suspicious, yes. As for warrantless wire taps, etc.: they're supremely unconstitutional.

"This doesnt resemble democracy at all"

Democracy only has to do with voting. If the people vote in a dictator and give him sole power, that's still a democratic consent.

  • "If the people vote in a dictator and give him sole power". I don't think that's what the American people did. I think they voted in a guy and counted on him to keep his oath [that he took at least twice already] to uphold the Constitution. That's different from voting in a guy knowing, and accepting, he's going to assrape the foundation of your society.

  • wowthung: "that's [not] what the American people did"

Alas, you've taken the quote out of context: it was in reference to the definition of "democracy", not what the American people hoped or wished for in the last election.

"assrape the foundation of your society"

Yes, the patriot act was unconstitutional, but I'd be willing to bet you'd vote for clinton, Schumer, Boxer, or Feinstein: people who have made it their express goal in their political careers to destroy the Bill of Rights.

  • coldice: "Why doesn't he just answer the question if he has nothing to hide?"

Hmm..typical soccer mom (il)logic: Perhaps we should erase the 4th Amendment as well. After all, if you're doing nothing illegal, what do you have to hide from random, warrantless searches?

  • Your confusing the matters. This has nothing to do with the constitutional right for your protected private home. Telling the committee WHO SENT HIM TO THE HOSPITAL is no classified matter of the justice department. This is about COVER-UP OF AN UNCONSTITUIONAL ACT, namely the attempt to get an approval for a legal bill from the attorney general no longer in charge.

  • coldice: "This has nothing to do with the constitutional right for your protected private home" -- It's an analogy.

It's unconstitutional to ask the former Attorney General advice?

tsk tsk. What is this world coming to?

  • Irpwny

This is exactly the problem. Gonzales did not ask for advice. He wanted Ashcrofts APPROVAL for the bill so he could pass it, although Ashcroft wasn't in charge and under sedation. This is why he won't talk about it, since he KNOWS it was unconstitutional.

  • coldice: "Gonzales did not ask for advice. He wanted Ashcrofts APPROVAL"

Hmm..approval from someone who no longer has power. How cute.

Do you listen to yourself talk?

Let's look at this logic: Gonzales won't talk about "it", so he wasn't asking for advice, and because he wasn't asking for advice he was therefore "doing something unconstitutional."

    Plato would be proud.

  • You obviously did not inform yourself properly about the case otherwise you would know that Gonzales actually WAS there for the APPROVAL and NOT for advice. Check out the testimony of Ashcroft's deputy James Comey, who was present during the meeting in the hospital on Youtube.

  • coldice: Yes ma'am, Gonzales was there for approval because the Attorney General pro-tempore was against the program.

Seeking approval is not unconstitutional, implementing a surveillance program (depending which type) is.

  • coldice: Not to mention, why would Gonzales, if he were Attorney General, need the "consent" of the defunct Ashcroft to carry out his policy?

The tidbit of information you keep missing is this: it doesn't work because Ashcroft was still A.G. at the time.

It's not unconstitutional to ask advice or approval, it's unconstitutional to enact a surveillance policy on the people. Try getting things straight.

  • It's YOU who doesn't get things straight. Ashcroft had given his authority to his Deputy, James Comey, and was "no longer the Attorney General" (Arlen Specter, R). Check out the other videos about the questioning on Youtube.

  • coldice: "Ashcroft had given his authority to his Deputy, James Comey, and was "no longer the Attorney General" " Not quite, whenever an official goes into surgery his deputy, vice, etc. takes temporary power. It's to avoid a post-Augustan situtation.

  • Alberto sounds like a little bitch

  • Gonzales is working for US people. He is NOT working for Bush! He needs to put that in his LAWYER mind

  • Impeach Yes! If somebody is impeached they can't hold any other office!

  • I would have loved to hear Chuck call for the Sargent at Arms and through that Fother Mucker in jail.

  • Unfuckingbelievable contempt of Congress.

  • The people of this country are getting FUC**D by these Mo**-F**ers. It is unavoidable that they will not last much longer. Back-stabbers and Mother-F**ers NEVER do. Sorry for the people who they are still yet going to kill. Iraq was a drop in the bucket. I hope that I am wrong. But I fear that I am not. So just watch their moves.

  • Chuckey Schumer it's none of your fuckin buisness!!!He is before a committee not a judge "Chuckey". Chuckey he can fire any US attorney anytime and for any reason he chooses. Clinton had Reno fire 91 remember? And you know why? Chuckey, to get the one that was after him in the Whitewater fiasco.

  • Gee, I thought the republicans spent 90 million dollars to catch Clinton getting a blow job--I guess Ken Star missed that one. Maybe I should watch Fox to get my facts straight.

  • shut the fuck up stop hiding behind clinton

  • GROW UP PUNK!!!

  • Are you people still around? I thought you all died and went to Hell.

  • With every comment like that, my side looks better.

Keep it up. Pretty soon, you'll drive all the independent voters--you know, those folks who are still connected to reality--right over to the Democrats.

  • You wish! your side is taking a dive head first. You democRATS have the midia on your side and thats the only reason this political witch hunt is going on. US attorneys work at the discretion of the president. W or Gonzo can fire them for no reason at all just like your boy Clinton did. CASE CLOSED Why do you think Gonzo is laughing at them.

  • He's laughing because he's a chode who takes his loyalty to the president more seriously than he takes loyalty to the interests of the country.

But in any case, it's good to see you took my advice.

  • If you find out why the attorneys were fired then you will find it was in the best interest of the country. I know for a fact one of the attorneys failed to prosicute drug dealers that were illegal aliens. Now his firing was in the best interest of the country. YOU ARE A DUMB FUCKIN TROLL AND YOUDO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT GROW UP!!

  • Dude you are delusional....thank god in the coming election you and your "culture of sorruption" will be such a minority it'll be ridiculous. Cry it out bambi.

  • Provide the evidence, then. Meanwhile, keep getting irate. It increases the conversion rate.

Finally, I think you meant "prosecute."

  • Clinton fired the attorneys at the start of his first term way before the whitewater investigation started. The same way George Sr. and Reagan did before him.

  • He fired them and the republicans said nothing because he had the right to. Same as the Bush adm. has the right to. One of the attorneys was after Clinton for Whitewater.

  • So he fired 90+ attorneys to go after the one who was "supposedly" after him for whitewater? Huh? Bush is the first president in history to fire US Attorney's that far after the start of his term (obviously for SPECIFIC political reasons). Yes he has a right to do it under the constitution. He also has the right to pardon every scum bag he wants to and every bill that comes before him. Does that make it right? Don't bother answering. I now see your ridiculous posts above.

  • You are about as stupid as they come. CLINTON FIRED 91 US ATTORNEYS AND DIDN'T GIVE A REASON BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE TO. HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO BE TOLD THAT YOU STUPID MORON.

  • Bush's firings were discriminate based on political affiliation. Clinton's firings were a "clean sweep" - all attorneys. So the argument needs to stop that "Clinton did it too".

  • well said.

  • Whats the DIFF> STUPID FUCK?

  • It's totally normal for all new administrations to fire the old attorneys and appoint new ones WHEN THEY TAKE OFFICE. Bush did that in the middle of the term because those attorneys did not play along as he and his admin. wanted. This is an interference of the executive into matters of the juridicial branch and therefore unconstitutional. NO ADMINISTRATION HAS EVER DONE THIS BEFORE NEITHER DEMOCRATIC NOR REPUBLICAN.

  • Are you trying to create some kind of violation because it has never been done before. The democrats are trying to get Rove through Gonzo. If they can get them on a perjury charge using trick questions. The firings were legal. The whole thing is political. They are in there trying to nail the Bush adm. instead of doing their jobs. Its a waste of taxpayer dollars.

  • "Its a waste of taxpayer dollars"

A waste of taxpayer dollars is the salary of ANYONE in this horrible, corrupt administration.

Put them ALL in jail where they belong.

  • First off. Fuck you. I graduated from Harvard and made high 7 figures last year. What the fuck do you do you moron? Second, if you knew how to read you ignorant cock you would see from my comment that I agree he doesn't have to give a reason. That doesn't make it right you ignorant red neck.

  • You mean kindergarden not Harvard. YOU DUMB LIBERAL HACK.

  • Oohh. Good one.

  • Of course he had the right to do it. But he did it because they did not go along with the Bush policy the way the Bush admin. wanted. NO ADMINISTRATION HAS EVER DONE THIS BEFORE, NEITHER DEMOCRATIC NOR REPUBLICAN.

  • No accountability in USA politics whatsoever. 50 people control 300,000,000 and yet they think they are free men. Simply magical.

  • IMPEACH NOW!

  • impeach this slimeball!

  • OMG! What SCUM! I can't believe this! Just bold-faced criminals!

  • BushCo is running the DOJ like the Sorpranos. Gonzo is there to make sure the BushCo crime family doesn't get indicted on anything no matter what they do. How long are we going to put up with this?

  • The reason all these loyal Bushies are so smug is because they know the day after election day 2008 Bush will pardon them for anything and everything they've done. The only way to prevent this sort of abuse in the future is to amend the Constitution so that the president can't pardon or commute the sentence of anyone in his own administration. But all of these folks will get away scot free, you can count on it.

  • The other way bush can't pardon them is if he, (bush) is impeached! That is why impeachment is so important.

  • find some dirt on his family members, then use it to corner this weasel.

  • he is soooo slimey. its mind boggling.

  • I hope your right Silverweed! I hope they keep the pressure on and get them out of the whitehouse eventually. Preferably before January 2009! You can see how the Bush adm. stonewalls on everything.Get him and Bush on CONTEMPT, PERJURY AND BREAKING OF THE 4TH AMENDMENT. Impeach. AHORA!!(NOW) I'm Latino and he's a disgrace to our people!!! They're a disgrace to the troops as well!!! later H.

  • delaying and refusing to answer questions is going to last them about another week or two and then they're going to be fucked.

there is no executive privilege in stuff like this or the Sara Taylor/Harriet Miers questioning. Fuck them, remove all of these scummy assholes and put them in jail.

  • Karl Rove sent him...

  • These "bushies" are not real men of principle. Please get them out of public service immediately. Because they only serve their own interests, not the public.

  • Impeach!

  • Congress is gutless. Fuck them.

Lie, cheat, steal, fraudulently start wars, commit felonious surveillance of Americans... lie to Congress.... and idiots like Schumer, Pelosi, Reid WON'T DO A GOD DAMN THING! Fuck them all.

  • Does Gonzo speak English? I think seombody needs to review his "law degree." Or rather, perhaps the school that gave him a law degree should be reviewed. Dumbass. IMPEACH!!!!

  • This guy is the well scripted bull shifter of the white house, Why dose gonzo always show up, because after his 57 votes of no confidence 3 short of sustaining the motion, the white house knows if he doesn't show he will be held in contempt in 24 hours by congress that's why he shows up every time and bullshits, take this guy down he is protecting bush

  • He's saying he won't betray Bush by telling the truth. Punk.

  • Justice Dept Head? Sounds more like the criminal defense attorney for the GW 'n Dick. All we need now is the criminal prosecutor to hold these felons to account!

  • I heard this on the radio... what a fu*king jackass. He asked you a question, Gonzales. You have not asserted privilege. Christ!

    :(

  • Can someone please get rid of these ameobas!!!!

'Cause Impeachment will never come soon enough.

  • HEY Jackass GONZO, PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!

SHEESH, enough already, you LIED Dude.

  • Just torture the answers outta him.

Al has no problem with torture being used by the USA elsewhere throughout the world.

Just being snarky, there , Al. No need to find me and send ME to Gitmo...

  • I agree with you mygod!!! Send him down to guntanomo and waterboard his ass!!! give him a dose of his own medicine

  • "We were there on behalf of the President" "Did the President send you?" "We were there on behalf of the President" "Who told you to go?" "We were there on behalf of the President"

  • ok did you catch the part were Gonzo said that he could go back and see if he could answer the question? Go back where? Did he just basically say "let me go ask the president if I can answer this question"? I mean c'mon he's the friggin Attorney General! He doesn't have to check in with anyone, just answer the god damn question!

  • It hurts my head that he's allowed to tap dance around questions. The system seems so broken.

  • Can they not find him in contempt? At least!

  • endict(not sure of spelling) his ass if he wont answer anything.. "nigga who sent u!!!!!"

  • Excuse me, I have to scream profanities now.

    AAAHHHH(multiple expletives deleted)!!!!

  • How in the Lord's name can we put up with this? Why has anyone allowed the United States to sink to such lows?

  • why can't you answer the question?

    Did the President send you?

Did the Vice President send you?

Explain why you can't answer the question.
