Watching these old heart videos makes me appreciate them for being classy. Ann and Nancy are sexier fully clothed than Britney Spears' best masturbation moves in her videos. Today Heart must feel on top of the world: they navigated a 30+ year successful career and came out on top. They're still beautiful and are finally being recognized for their talents as musicians and have their good reputations intact.
There is a youtube video of an interview Ann Wilson did in the 70s talking about how..."This career doesn't last forever. Who wants to see some 40 year old belting out "Crazy On You." I love that statement. She's something like 61 yrs old today and I was blown away when we saw Heart this August in Buffalo, NY. Absolutely Fabulous women on stage! Love Heart!!
2:22 Top left. Ann is singing the opening lines of an extended version of "Little Queen" at Cal Jam 2. She walks over to Nancy who turns to her and back. Then Ann laughs, and Nancy turns with a smile. <3
Great Heart videos you've made! I LOVE hearing these original versions -- of course, they were right to go back and redo the vocals (and remix) after the whole contract dispute thing -- but what history to hear the original! Thanks
Ah! This is so well done. Excellent, excellent!! I've had this first version of the Magazine album for 20+ years. It's great that you uploaded this (and the other clips) for younger fans to hear. Or, fans that weren't able to find this. Having the moving videos is a real plus. Thanks for your great clips!
Youre the greatest....Your tallent and dedication stands in a space of its own among other Heart junkies like myself and around the world...I only dream of doing what U do and it's so saticefing to see a dream come to life through someone else and so wonderfully done ontop of that!!!!!! Thanx again for being U! Ann & Nancy 4 Ever!!!!
@MrMedusaLvamp That's really nice of you to say that - thank you! When I first started making these videos I wasn't sure how they'd turn out but I'm glad I stayed with it. It's been a lot of fun and people seem to appreciate them. Thanks again.
I heard this version...it was on "Portrait Records" and the band went to court to stop the release. I heard it only once on the radio station called "The X" X-Rock 80 back in the day and hadn't heard it since. Thanks!
@livin4Jesus Yes that would be a real collector's item now. Although it is still not the original unauthorised LP from 1977 that Heart blocked. You need the one which has a sticker on it saying that the LP is not endorsed by Heart or something like that.
Back in the day my buddy got one of the mushroom ones before they were pulled...the on I got was the newer. I always liked the original better. thanks for giving me the chance to hear this better version again!
I loved this version, I have a picture disc also that I never opened but I think it's the later version. I feel blessed to have seen this band and followed them in my younger years...
This is the version I'm used to, as I've only got the first release. My dad worked for Mushroom Records and dealt with Heart when they were recording it. He's even one of the "special thanks" on the back of the album, but only on the first run. (You can actually see his name in the video. xD)
I'm always waiting for Devils Delight at the end of Heartless,The only thing I'm hearing Different is the vocal track, which totally sounds better on this version, god ! remember cuing up the tape deck to record off the radio... fumbling through tapes to find shit to listen to,
When this very FIRST one came out, our local album/hard rock station played it and I quickly recorded it on cassette tape. The album came out fall of 1977 (then), THEN it was quickly and viciously (literally) ripped down from the shelves and sent back to the factory! When the new version came out, late spring of 1978, I was severely disappointed. Thank God for YOU and YouTube for bringing back this outstanding, classic original, which NEVER should have been tampered with!
i remember seeing the tv commerical for this album summer 1979 on late night tv during the height of the disco era. would love to see that commercial again along with the radio commericials for the 1987 concert tour which would wind me up just hearing the commerical for their upcoming concerts.
heart was an incredible band. probably the best ever even though i love grace slick too.
this version of heartless is awesome. needs to be added to some cd as a bonus.
Hey "gus" thanks for posting! I never heard this version back in the day. I see there are CD's avail of Magazine, do they use the newer approved version of this song or this cool version you have here? I need this version! if i were to look for the vinyl record, are they all this version or did they change it part way thru to the radio version we all know? bottom line, how can i obtain a non-vinyl version of this, thanks man!
@gusterous I have Heart Essential and Heart Magazine on CD's. Each has a different version of Heartless. Any thoughts on which version is the 'unauthorised or unfiinished version' from 1978?
@ImSuperHaute I was just about to say that...then I read your comment. Awesome version of this song. I can't blame them for pulling it off the shelves though, if a recording's not done, it's just not done.
Wow - I haven't heard this version in 30+ years! I remember when this version was played on the radio in Milwaukee. I much prefer the "Heartless, Heartless" vocal style on this version. Thanks for posting it.
hey i have there first studio album of this. its sad its like a compliation album. things from like 1973 and stuff thats really old that wasnt realeased. still cool though!
This is absolutely fantastic. I thought I was the only one on Planet Earth with the "disputed" version of this album. It's way cooler than the other one. Nice work!!
Well done!! I haven't heard this version since we played it on the air at KJJO Hot Rockin' 104FM in the Twin Cities back in the late-80s! We found a copy of the original Magazine album, tucked away in a dusty pile of records, at a vintage music store in downtown Minneapolis. We, of course, knew what it was and snagged it right away for airplay! Thanks for this lost treasure! Rock On!! bc
Welcome! I' ve actually found 4 copies of this album at used record stores over the the last 20 years. 2 have been stolen and 1 was lost :( Now I'm down to 1. Anyway, glad you enjoyed!
Perfect! I saw your post on another video and directing me to this and I'm glad you did. It's amazing you were able to synchronize some of the singing in the video to the music. A real gem to those of us who haven't heard the renditions on the "original" Magazine album. Thanks!
It's really a pity what happened with all that. Little Queen and Magazine should really be one album (even tho I'd miss the Little Queen album cover;))
Fantastic! Thanks - A friend of mine had the original album and let me tape it. I lent to a friend; never got it back. Could you post "Just the Wine"? The original was also much better (IMHO) than the remake. I really appreciate you doing this.

the singing from 3: 28 to 3:36 is what makes ann wilson so special as a singer
that's the kind of singing that makes her fans get wound up.
