If Collie keeps playing the way he's playing, he'll go down as one of the biggest draft steals of all time. He was picked 127th overall, 19th WR, and he's outperformed them all. Look at 2009 NFL Draft on Wikipedia and then compare his stats to those picked before him. He blew them out of the water.
Why do people who make these videos always have to hurry everything and put annyoying music in the background? The play-by-play or color commentray of the actual games would have been far superior.
@joepeeler34 hurry everything? you mean like cutting to the next play when the previous one is over? yeah thats because the video is already 10 minutes without that, and would be like 30 minutes, nobody would watch it. Don't like the music, mute it. Americans are bored easily and will stop watching the video without background music. Now as far as music selection, I can't make everyone happy, I choose one genre, some ppl bitch, I choose the genre they suggested other people bitch, bitch, bitch
why can't you just appreciate it for what it is, a collection of his plays from college that someone took the time to put together. You should be glad it is on the internet to watch period
and i have made videos with the play by play, there is a feature on youtube that shows you where people are watching and when they leave the video. This video it shows most people watch the entire thing, for ones without background music, people leave after 30 seconds, and then more after a minute
why because he rarely drops a pass? because he beats black corners? because he's absolutely fearless? because he cathces in traffic WITH his hands, NOT his body? because he doesn't drop to the ground to avoid being hit? or, is it just because you can't appreciate the incredible talent and breakout rookie year he had? good grief.
@Skittles658 Austin collie aint a douchebag even if he did beat you up in high school and take your lunch money. anyone who does that aint no douche. he could kill you motherfucker
dwid, great rankings. I agree Collie will probably end up being the 4th or 5th best WR in the 2009 draft class, maybe even the 2nd or 3rd if he absolutely maxes his potential! Percy Harvin had the best rookie season though and has slightly more game speed than Collie. Crabtree and Maclin started to come on strong at the end of last season too. We'll see, but Collie looks like he should end up in the top 5.
Its funny because this is only his junior highlights. There is some of his sophmore highlights in here, but not all. It also doesn't show any of his freshman season.
This guy is fucking shit up. He is projected by ESPN to 64 receptions for 730 yards and 10 TDs. That is a damn good rookie season. Their next game is against the Rams. He should have a big game.
the catch at around 9 minutes is probably one of his best. It is very hard to look up and behind you like that while you are running and then adjust to the ball.
i can see collie taking, garcon and halls, open positions, i think collie wil start in the slot, then maybe move his way into the left or right side, but as long as wayne and gonzo are there, Collie will be in the slot, they might switch up for a play. w/e stil a dirty wr core.
i say he is gonna be a backup this year to gonzo in the slot just because gonzo has three years under his belt but in 2-3 years he will start, i could be wrong though but we will see but he is gonna be AWSOME GO COLTS!!!!
Gonzalez will probably move to number 2 and Collie in the slot, or Collie at number 2 and Gonzo in the slot. To me Collie seems more like the natural outside receiver, but i think wayne, gonzo and collie would excel no matter where you put them
Collie is my hero, stud football hero, mormon(yes, mormon), 4.0 gpa, he's solid. he's going to dominate in the nfl with peyton, clark, wayne, gonzales. he will be open all day. COLLIE!!
People don't understand this very much but Good hands and route running is better than having a shit load of speed. Look at Hester, I know he hasn't been playing WR for that long but he didn't do much last year. If you just go by speed than your doing what Al Davis does. The NFL is a game of inches. Not saying speed isn't good at all but if your dropping passes and not running good routes what is the use. In 2-3 years he will be the colts #2 next to Wayne, Gonzales is more of a slot guy to me.
he doesnt have a shitload of speed but I wouldnt exactly call him slow, he ran a 4.55 which i would say is what most receivers average that start in the NFL. I know Marques Colston runs a 4.55 and has burnt dbs before. Id like to see both collie and gonzalez alternating in the slot to see which one does better on the outside. Im guessin Gonzalez will get the nod this year for the outside because of more experiencece but i think both could excel at any wide receiver spot they are asked to play
Dwid, id never criticise you, but maybe you should leave out some of the short passes, we dont have see every single catch in a highlight tape. its better to show 10 spectacular deep passes, than 100 short passes.
well alot of people criticize players highlight videos like "thats why its highlights" For Collie I wanted to show a variety of different catches he made instead of a few big ones. Alot of highlight videos of guys making a few big plays and dont do anything in the pros. I wanted to show that Collie had a variety of skills and could either be a deep threat or be that guy that simply moves the chains on 3rd down (which is probably how he will be used at first for the colts, in a Stokley role)
plus I have a problem, i just can't seem to cut out any of the catches. I need help! like give the video to someone and have them say, okay take this out and this out. I review the vids I make and I find something about every catch that I like and leave it on there. Its a disease
Its hard to watch Collie's highlights when the fact that QB Max Hall doesn't know how to look off a defender is so obvious. Its painful to watch as a BYU fan.
4.0 is the absolute highest you can get. 4.0 = Straight A's. 3.0 = B average. anywhere between means you had some A's and some B's probably. 2.0 = C average. I think 2.5 is mandatory for athletes to maintain. 4.0 is incredible.
I went to Cordova High his rival high school he went to Oak Ridge. Im a grad 07 and played ball for four years. By far he is the greatest high school football player i have ever seen .
I am a die hard BYU fan and I seen every game Collie played and the colts got a steal. Mark my words collie will be a redzone threat with peyton passing to him. he'll have more tds then dallas clark maybe even more then crabtree.
well crabtree has alex smith, a huge bust that sucks ass, throwing to him, while collie has peyton manning, a future hof qb, and possibly the best of all time, throwing to him. plus with reggie taking double coverage, gonzo dominating single coverage, dallas clark dystroying anyone who trys to cover him (LB or DB) collie will be wide open all day.
dallas clark 11 tds, Austin Collie 9 touchdowns. Not that far off. Crabtree=2 tds, I know he missed 5 games but I doubt he would have had more than Collie.
Collie is legit. 10 Straight 100 yard games this year, even though teams KNEW he was the guy they had to stop--including when BYU star tight end receiving threat got hurt.
He did it against everybody, including against Utah who just had both of their corners drafted, one in the second round. Why he lasted until the 4th round I'll never know, but a perfect situation for him in Indy.
How significant is the racial aspect in his lack of media attention? I'm a colts fan so I'm curious. Living in the midwest I didn't get the chance to see many mountain west games this year.

I was incorrect in one aspect. Donald Brown from UCONN who the colts picked in the first round is a running back who is half white. His dad is black and his mom is white. Brown along with his family made quite an impression on us colts fans. I haven't seen a press conference for collie just yet. Bill Polian was pretty excited about getting him and compared him to a former colt wide out brandon stokely. He reminds me of Wes Welker as well.
collie is just way underrated, its really just cuz hes from BYU. People just think that BYU can't have some good player but those people are just retarded. Great players have come from BYU, Steve Young for example, NFL MVP, twice.
thanks im glad you like it, heh yeah it doubled the views, but i was hoping for more, he did lead the nation in receiving this year.
