I love them both, but I find Dempsey to be incredibly inconsistent in international play. That being said he is a top shelf American player, and I can think of no one better to fill his boots in our starting 11.
I agree about Dempsey being the most fearless, but I think the people who say he's better than Donovan don't really remember Donovan's body of work. Dempsey may be better than Donovan now that Donovan is 30 and Dempsey is in his prime, but Donovan is the best player America has ever produced. If he'd been in the right club in England for the last 10 years, I don't think anyone would dispute that, but personally I'm happy that he still players here in the USA where I can watch him.
People tout on about Landon Donovan being the best American, but I say Clint is the most fearless and arguably the best. He goes across the world to play football and makes a name for himself in the Premier League when Donovan chooses to stay in the States in a below par league.
@fender512 Oh i don't think it's even a question anymore. Donovan has turned into the biggest crybaby while Dempsey just continues to ravage the net. I would be pressed to say Stu Holden was showing more promise than Donovan as well.
