Wed march down from Old Mans (which we generally eschewed because we considered it a longboard wave) clad in our 80s day-glo wetsuits. It's still the same waves according to the old guys in the water--except it's a lot more crowded. You can catch it alone if you wait out the crowds, but it's getting harder to do that.
Correct. San Clemente is north of Trestles. But "this" as in "where is this," which I took to mean the location of the video, IS south of Trestles, in front of the Camp Pendleton San Onofre Rec Camp. I just referenced San Clemente to get him in the right part of the state.
best on a south swell ... only go there on a south it's not worth it the rest of the year!!

I grew up surfing Churches back in the 80s. I loved that spot. It's a great break. Haven't surfed there in ages, though.
