  • wtf if you have a front or a rear wheel drive car and its raining like crazy why would you get in it and floor it any way bad driver

  • todos os outros sairam forte fritando pneu, assim perde tração mesmo.

E os pneus são iguais e estão bons???

  • They seem to be doing hard launches in the rwd cars. Why not just take off normally?

  • right side driver sucks....

  • SUBARU kicking ass :D

  • This is a joke... either they are spraying water at subaru and oil at the other cars, or they simply don't WANT to start... I mean it's wet but come on, it's JUST wet. I've had better starts on ice with summer tires.

  • na gegen quattro haben se sich nich getraut anzutrete, was? haha

  • you can also buy the impreza w/ FWD only nowadays. but why. the mercedes was taken because it equals the maximum weight the subaru can pull. so whether or not audi was missing is not the argument here. it was a test to compare. not the question if you need awd every day for every purpose. not even if subaru makes the best cars in the world. because audi does. (yeah, right).

  • WTF? Let me come with my Audi 80 V6 2.6 (150HP) and quattro+ Diff Lock, and the Subaru will be the Mercedes ;-)

  • @masterhackerking i don't think so, the results will be the same, subaru win.

  • Wtf this is stupid! no shit it will spin if you floor it in the rain!, dumbasses!

  • You can't compare AWD to ASR o TCS on snow or ice. Bat in ordinary surfaces AWD + ASR are good

  • COMPARISON. NOT COMPETITION. YOU STUPID, MISERABLE LITTLE FUCKS.

  • I'd like to see if a Mercedes S-class could be pulled when the Merc has the traction control, anti skid contol etc all switched on lol not so sure the Subaru would win then.

  • @AndrewParkerTV Yes, it would. This video is kinda dumb because there's no doubt AWD will win over RWD and FWD, there's just more traction. Now if you put the Subaru up against an Audi Quatro or Volvo XC70 then you'd have an interesting pull contest.

  • @KentuckyRangerPro Hi, i'm not saying it couldn't, I just wondered with all that technology on added to the car's weight it might be interesting.

  • @KentuckyRangerPro

Subaru would still pull the S Class. But an S Class with AWD would pull the Subaru ;-)!

  • Love the 80s porno music

  • Ok, my apologies for not clarifying! You all keep telling me Subaru doesn't make fwd cars. Subaru DID (past tense) produce cars with the option of front-wheel drive several years ago. They DID (past tense) exist. Currently (present tense) Subaru does not offer any vehicles in the US with front-wheel drive.

  • @kodiak410a if it's an auto, there's a fuse you can pull to make the transmission transfer power only to the front end. but that's not as much fun drifting in snow :P

  • japanese cars is top and german cars is bullshit

  • @Telenovelafan73: bullshit is your post :-P

  • he forgetten 4matics lol camparing s class with subaru hehehee

  • fucking reklam! noobs ! mercedes kill suabru ! in normal road normal driver

  • FAKEEEEEEEEEE

  • Subaru with selectable RWD/4WD. Best combination EVER.

  • Stupid Subaru.. Compare apples to apples. Where's the Passat 4Motion?

  • Comment removed

  • @KYoss68 Passat 4Motion? Stupid RWD (search All ALL WHEEL DRIVES are NOT created equal. (Subaru Vs Other

  • @Hadulay: which RWD? What are you talkin about?

  • @Fermion911 посмотри это видео youtube.com/watch?v=t09ExAUgtyE

  • merc is doing burnout

  • Subaru bitches.

  • This video is at. Because I bet. Anything te Subaru had brand new winter / rain tires or what ever and the other cars had crapy summer tires. And the Subaru hit 40% gas witch mad the tires not spin. And the others has 100% gas witch made them lose traction witch would only take about 20% power from the other car to pull this one

  • Its obious that the subaru has better tyres than the rest there wasn't any wheel spin at all from the front wheels of the subaru whilst all the other cars did (a lot!!!).

Proof of this is that the wheels of the subarus are NOT orginal when the other cars wheels are!

  • @connor6770 why would a AWD spin it's front wheels.

not saying this is a fair test it would have been better to compare it to Audi quarto or another vehicle with AWD

  • Its obious that the subaru has better tyres than the rest there wasn't any wheel spin at all from the front wheels of the subaru whilst all the other cars did (a lot!!!).

  • Its a nice traction test. But if i want only good traction from my car i will buy a tractor.

  • Fucking german backstabbing his own country? wheres da Audi at?

  • @ringlol easy fan boy

  • @ringlol You do realize Audi is owned by Volkswagen, and VW is a german company right....?

  • @ringlol Those shows arent neutral, or critical...

They just do, what they get paid for by the companies...

Nowadays its even so fucked up, that they show cars without showing the negative aspects... like commercials...

  • @BlongBlarble Im not sure what safety and my wallet have to do with the various types of drive systems demonstrated in this video? My wife and I drive Volvo S80s. We recently purchased a Volvo C70 for our daughter as she recently became of age to drive. We live in Florida, so there is really no need for AWD. Volvo is one of the safest names in the auto industry. During inclement weather, simply drive slower and more cautiously and you should have a safe journey. Common sense = Safety.

  • Subaru AWD the best!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This video shows, that subaru WAS the best car manufacturer of 4wd cars. Audi, bmw an mercedes knocked out subaru years ago. Think of Bmw xdrive and audi quattro, these systems are way better then subarus today.

  • @LukiXS2 lol really?

  • In my opinion there is a minimal difference between them.

  • All cars may have awd. All of then...

  • but what idiot puts full throttle on ice/slippery ground with a 2wd?? and even an american could understand that 4WD is completely superior to 2WD, so what is this video for? we have a Subaru Forester -06, great car great traction, but even with a 2,0L boxer it takes more fuel than that S 320 (3,2L I6) Mercedes in the vid.

  • @coolakiIlen007: Superior in a straight line or slippery surface but I think the best for sharp turns is RWD. Sure, it depends on a car model.

  • @Fermion911 yeah absolutely.

  • How can you compare AWD to FWD or RWD? Of course AWD is superior for traction on bad surfaces. But it also adds more weight, reduced fuel economy, and higher maintenance and repair costs. There is always a trade off. You just have to decide what you need in a vehicle to suit your lifestyle. Compare these vehicles with the FWD versions of the Subarus for a more-accurate comparison.

  • @kodiak410a there is no fwd versions of subarus

  • @MacQ2309 Wasn't there something called the "Brighton Edition" on some of the older, possibly 80's or early 90's sedans and wagons? Im not a Subaru offcianto, but a friend of mine had an Impreza Brighton Edition. seemed to be a basic model. No tach. It did have A/C, but no cd or tape player, no cruise or power anything. I rode it in a few times, but he said it was front wheel drive. I didn't see a rear differential when I've followed behind his car sometimes.

  • @kodiak410a

    it could be

i've done some youtube resarch, and it turned out, that there is video of performing 0-60 in 1996 impreza, which is 1.6 liter engine and fwd.

You're right, but still... There was no fwd legacy ;)

  • @MacQ2309 I see. What did they call the wagons before the lagacy badging was introduced?

  • @MacQ2309 in the early 90s some of the imprezzas were FWD and then they were like screw it standard AWD in like 96?

  • @kodiak410a subaru doesnt make FWD cars...

  • @LiveLongboard The Subaru was the AWD.

  • @kodiak410a subaru doesnt have FWD (In canada at least)

  • @interpol007: Some models of Subaru have FWD. I think also first generation of Impreza was offered as AWD or FWD.

  • @kodiak410a Huh? Subaru doesn't offer fwd cars. They might have many years ago, but all their cars come with awd.

  • @kodiak410a we own a 1995 legacy, 225K miles, beat all to hell. last tank? 33mpg. not bad for a 17 year old car :)

  • @kodiak410a You just did a comparison. We compare things that are different you stupid fuck. This is a very accurate comparison. It compares 4WD with 2WD.

  • @danglingslong Wow, name-calling. I guess us stupid fucks with 6-figure incomes must be REALLY stupid.

  • @kodiak410a Money? Hahahahahaha! What a sad little man.

  • @kodiak410a I don't think Subaru makes FWD.

  • @kodiak410a What FWD? a subaru is always AWD

  • @kodiak410a this is not a car comparison. how can u compare a passat, a mondeo, a legacy and an S-class???

it is just a demonstration of the awd benefits

  • @kodiak410a The fuel consumption thing is somewhat not true with the new Audi vehicles when compared to their competition.

  • @iggibars How so?

  • @kodiak410a If you look at the specs of the new audis, they are lighter, or just about the same as their competition of only rwd setup. They are also more efficient(in most models at least). I know that these cars are not for the average consumer, are a bit expensive when compared to normal cars, but they should still be looked at.

  • @iggibars Ok. But aren't we still talking about weight to fuel consumption? I would think that if you compared the same Audi model in both FWD to the same model with Quattro, The FWD model would weight less, have faster acceleration and better fuel economy. If comparably-weighted vehicles from different manufacturers are to be compared, then would it be wrong to say it would be up to the gearing, power delivery, and torque to determine the best performer?

  • @kodiak410a I'm just saying that Audi is AWD and has better efficiency than the direct competition with red, let alone if they had their awd setup. Also, a car that has a real awd system will almost always be "faster" than a fwd car.

  • genius ! Now i know that if you have 2 wheel drive i cant put a brick on the accelerator when i want to start on the wet ! Thats like rocket since !

  • Shouldn't the Title say "AWD vs FWD vs RWD" ?

  • This is for you sixsixsix. Faggots??? So anyone who bought an AWD for their family to run around in in bad weather are Faggots? I have a better word Ignoramus! That would be a description of you! Go look up what Faggots actually is in a dictionary. Oh, that's a book full of descriptions of the true meanings of words.

  • The video didn't show that all the tires were bald except the subaru tires.

  • The only thing this really proves is traction control works and the FWD without it can't compare.

  • RWD is better in start cause 70% of vehicle weight is at rear wheels when accelerating

FWD is better in anything. But not in acceleration cause the wheels would not get enough traction and will start spining...

    AWD is superior.

By the way, imagine a horse pushing you from the back ? instead of puling you.

  • @gazzxr fwd is shit at everything, because all its weight is over the front, where as rear wheel( the best) has a much better balance, better acceleration when there is grip, better cornering, better stopping.. AWD is only better than RWD when there is very little grip.

  • @d9thwonder /facepalm

  • @gazzxr explain?

  • @d9thwonder FWD is only good for cheap grocery getters. Cars that are built cheaply to be sold to the masses, where the only performance driving you do will be getting up to speed on the motorway. RWD is a much better package for performance cars. All of the great sports cars have RWD for a reason; it just works. It allows for better weight distribution and allows the front wheels to get on with steering while the back powers it. AWD is just for faggots.

  • @iamthestigsixsixsix well said my friend. =)

  • @iamthestigsixsixsix

Lets see how ur RWD does against AWD when theres wet tarmac, dirt or even ice and snow. You'll be left spinning tires when AWD is long gone. Some people live in countries where rain, sand roads and snow are usual. AWD is needed. Its waste of hp to drive with RWD car on a snow.

    Power is nothing without control.

  • @vaporazor Wet tarmac requires AWD? What, are you, some lead-footed maniac who doesn't understand throttle control? FYI, I daily drove an E39 M5 for 2 years in all sorts of treacherous conditions... snow, ice; you name it. It never got stuck once. So the argument that RWD cars are useless in slippery conditions isn't entirely true. It helps to have AWD, sure, but it isn't a must-have requirement if you at least know some car control.

  • Retarded. Where is the A4 Quattro?

  • Nigga said whaaat!?!?

  • Stupid test... xD Ignorance =)

  • awd rules

  • no matter what the challenge is you put a subaru in it it with somthing else the subaru will always win haha.. exept drift comps

  • Yes, it's a Avant (wagon). It's a 6 cylinder and it's a 92 model. I did not say, that EVERY Audi would be faster or better.... I said "my Audi". And MY Audi would have pulverized THAT Subaru.

Anyway.. Subaru is building very good cars. And I would buy one... if I had not enough money for an Audi :-D.

  • @Maxxxshop ah didnt know yours was a 92 figured it was newer my bad. How many Euro's does a Audi run in your model these days?

  • you mean AWD vs RWD vs FWD ? no

  • Where's the Audi Quattro :)

  • @compu85 Can audi sell a quattro at $20k range?

  • @sga86 2010-11 Legacy GT Ltd is quieter, faster, lighter, bigger, safer, have better resale value than the new Audi S4 while fully loaded with 8" Nav/DVD player + 9 speaker 440watt harman kardon speakers... and its $20k cheaper?!!?? Even thou I can afford a S4 but I'm not an idiot. I want to get the most out of my money and Subaru Legacy GT is a no brainer. If you rather pay more for less then you are just a sucker for brand names.

  • i was a RWD fan especially BMW,Holden, Audi....

but a year ago i bought my first AWD turbo charged WRX.......its a perfect driving you can enjoy everyday......believe me Subaru AWD cars are the best....... noway im gonna back to RWD......

  • @jerindc007 haha you should get a prize dude, rwd audi... you are really pushing it man

  • It's a german test, how did Subaru win?

  • My Audi Quattro would have pulverized the Subaru!

  • @Maxxxshop is your Quattro a family car like the Legacy is? no, Is your Quattro a 4 cylinder? no lol But the Legacy can still provide power, the newer ones compared to the old ones in this video are fairly good these days. If you want to pick on something, pick on the STI and try to pulverize that :p. By no means am i busting on Audi though man. I saw the Audi R8 once here where i work. That thing was awesome to see and the sound brought a smile to my face lol

  • a little over exaggerated...

  • s u b a r u rulez

  • Also, just look at that smug bastard at 1:46 (and how they make sure to show his goddamn face at that moment). And you are naive enough to talk about how it can't be biased towards Japanese cars because they're German? Yeah, right.

  • This has been said by quite a few people already, but I just have to join them and point out how retarded and biased this "test" is. Of course an AWD will have an overall better grip than a 2WD, but really, crushing the pedal like it raped your wife and daughter right before killing your dog while forcing you to watch it all isn't going to help you in a FWD or RWD. Unless you're trying to sell a Subaru.

This is from someone who just bought an Impreza, this week, and is loving it, mind you.

  • Was für ein Schrott Video........mehr verarschen geht nicht!!!!

  • Mondeo mk1 4x4 w/ tractioncontroll could better...my car, I love him :-)

  • lol well if its biased, at least the Germans are being biased towards the Japanese.

  • Stop pissing on the gas pedal and the FWD will go a lot faster, instead they're being biased and forcing the tires to spin, dumb video.

  • 4x4 rulez!

  • Why is not Audi quattros are tested?

  • @vetex007 The Audi broke down on the way to filming.

  • @swedishiron an audi breaking down? doubt it.

  • RWD = Real Wheel Drive

    FWD = Fail Wheel Drive

AWD = All Wheel Drive (lol)

  • i think the only thing this proves is that common sense is more important than traction. they're clearly creeping the scooby and gunning the other cars? who the hell does that in normal driving conditions other than impatient soccer moms driving minivans? hell i'm fwd, turbo and stick and have yet to have issues driving normally in bad weather

  • bullshit

  • Subaru for the win!

  • Umbrella corporation test!

    (from Resident evil)

    I want umbrella like that!!!

  • this looks like a promo for the car

  • they proved that 4x4 has more grip than two wheel drive?? amazing!! STUPID!

  • @2741718 your comment made me laugh, thumbs up :)

  • @2741718 IMO it proves that AWD has more grip than 2wd with traction control ... you'd expect the traction control to be at least on par with a awd system (especially one with open differentials front and rear like the legacy has). Still goes to show that Subaru is an absolute beast when it comes to low grip situations.

  • @2741718

You would be surprised by the number of people who still claim FWD is just as good as AWD in low traction situations...

  • I think its how easy the scoob wins which is making people throw their hands up in horror. The Scoob is that good, plus knowing the Germans, I don't think they would go against their own...MB / VW

  • the mercedes powns in this vid it looks like a legacy pulls better of teh lin ein the wet pure bull shit

  • this was a waste of time

  • Stupid test

  • eww its not HD XD!!!!!!!!!

  • "BMW think FWD is the work of SATAN" - James May :D

  • @aaronchungrulez best part about bmw

  • @aaronchungrulez : But actually its the RWD wich is the most problematic one...

  • @aaronchungrulez looooooooooooooool

  • @aaronchungrulez they build FWD Minis

  • @ATLZero yeah but the original mini's were always front wheel drive

  • I am seriously confused as to why Braking has been brought up at all in this conversation. This has nothing to do with braking. The bottom line is RWD is the way to go. With todays esp/traction control systems they can compete with most fwd cars and as for AWD. The only reason you should even consider AWD is if you live in a snowy region and even then you could get by easily by tossing some snow tires on a RWD if you felt like it.

  • advertising purpose only, u can see the other cars flooring the gas.. while the legacy is controlling the throttle.

  • Well this is for advertising purposes i suppose but any experienced driver could get the cars off the line with no difficulty. Oh and FWD is for pussies its all about RWD.

    I got a 1984 mitsubishi lancer.

    ALWAYS SIDEWAYS

  • What year are those shits, late 90's

  • they made a video that everyone knew what the results would be.. its fuckin stupid.

  • These demos forget about weight transfer, which is the reason why RWD works so well on the majority of surfaces (namely wet tarmac and dry tarmac). With such a low degree of friction as in this demo, the weight transfer to the rear wheels is minimal and 4WD is therefore superior. So all this test does is prove that 4WD is better on snow and ice.

  • If these are Germans doing the testing, where's the home country favorite Audi quattro? The REAL test would be quattro versus Subaru on identical tires. Depending upon the test, it might be a tie.

  • Proud Subaru Forester owner.

  • no use bro, nothing but dumb haters here!

  • Good video 5/5 *****

  • We know tht subaru have one of the best AWD in the world....but r they comparing a 4x4 with 2wd cars to say it will grip better??? if yes than this is one stupid test :S

  • this test is a joke, they probably put bald tires on all the cars except subaru. They said merc had traction control, but they probably turned it off and floor it instead of gently accelerating.

  • so true. it looks like he floors it in the RWD cars..,. like really? LOL such a dumb test

  • Please note: In the rain, when in FWD or RWD vehicle, NEVER try to feather the pedal, just smash it like it owes you money and BURN the tires all the way home.

  • the guy with umbrella lol

  • @knockoutmaniac gotta feed the kids some how

((wonder if hes still alive today?)

  • stupid test!!! for the last one obvious biased, if you start the car full throttle of course it's going to skid(even on dry roads it does that). look at the car on the left taking in slow and easy(no skid).

  • That doesn't change the fact that 4WD is better , especially with weather conditions such as this .

But yeah RWD and FWD are a bit better than shown in this video (unless you're behind the wheel for the first time in your life) .

  • Dude. HE has AWD. I have a '99 Subaru Outback. It doesn't matter house WET the roads are. The thing won't slip hardly at all. It needs snow and ice before it will slip. Stop being totally bias against Subaru's. The test was with two German cars and conducted by Germans. Do you think they wanted to show that their cars couldn't handle little Subaru's? No. The AWD beat them. Fair and square

  • @Rado3487 The left car doesn't take it slow and easy. It is an AWD Subaru. The one in the vid is a Legacy. I have a '99 Impreza with the 2.2l (same engine) that is lighter than the Legacy and it is still hard to spin the tires on wet roads.

  • @Rado3487 duh it aint spinning, because its awd. it takes a lot of power to spin all 4 wheels on pavemant. all 4 wheels being powered is obviously going to have the most grip.

  • @Rado3487 duh it aint spinning, because its awd. it takes a lot of power to spin all 4 wheels on pavemant. all 4 wheels being powered is obviously going to have the most grip. Plus, look at the size of the awd car, it looks like its going slow, but its really just being held back by a bigger car. your comment has been proved wrong. ha!

  • @Rado3487 The purpose of the test is to compare how much traction each car has pointing at the benefits of the AWD system. So both accelerated full throttle but since the Subaru has the AWD, it managed to make it smoothly off the line while others were spinning tires.....that's it, so no bias.

  • @Rado3487 both go all out

  • @Rado3487 sorry to inform you, but the one on the left has symmetrical all wheel drive, so it will never skid off the line. This is what makes subaru's so fast off the line. making this test not biased at all.

  • It's on a steep uphill, I believe.

  • @Rado3487 I have to say, I have a B4 RSK AWD and at full throttle it won't spin, even in the wet.

If you look closely, the Mondeo is pulling off quickly, same as the Legacy estate which I use to own. If you watch the front wheels on the Mondeo, they spin trying to get grip but it's back wheels are going slow, it's not biased, the Subaru will be at full throttle when taking off, but as it's got all symmetrical AWD it won't spin, but just pulls away. I love my AWD B4 RSK.
