Imeant the middle bit lol yh I miss this era heaps todays dubsteppers don't know they're born not the same as back then good old days of mixtapes, plastic dummies, hyper glo tshirts,hi tec trainers and dyed streaks in hair. I used to wear mad cartoony t-s and do crazy shapes to it! and I was only 13-14!
A big shout out to anyone who has ever been passed a vicks vapour rub stick!! by a complete stranger, sniffed it and felt wonderful! alas where did those days go!!!
im in awe of the people who did get to do it tho mate. im from manchester and missed the hacienda days, diddled out of their trees just loving the music before raving was a trend.
it used to be a subculture understood by those looking to love one another in totally harmonious synergy!
Nov/Dec 91 if you had your finger on the pulse. Check Steve Jackson's Christmas Kiss Dance chart and you'll find this and this, Fierce Ruling Diva and Sweet Harmony in the top 10 - all 91 tunes. All tunes that are commonly labelled as 92 - the year of the split!
this track was dropped at an illigal rave just outside colchester in aug 1990 it was first released on a white label then was signed to a mainstream lable a year later, how do i know all this? cuz i was the dj who dropped it and it was me pal who produced it, so beforev you go running ur trap off tell people there wrong do your homework prick...for the record steve jacksons a twat, its those people who brought the acid house scene to the attention ov the nation and fucked it right up............
i was a young pup listening to these tunes in 90/91/92 older bro sis with mix tapes and pirate radio. but i'd say 92 was year the underground went mainstream...the first real compilation album of the time...RAVE 92 which had a lot of sh*t on it i might add..but to be fair, i remember on the news of the time illegal raves being shut down on many occassions...thatcher government changing the laws to stop raves in quiet villiages...so i'd say nation was already aware of acid scene...at least i was
on a wind up you mate lol. Whatever makes you happy by Ten City only released in 90(the sample), promos of this knocking about in autumn/winter 91, summer 91 at the earliest i believe....
chris paul used to do camden! old skoll crew luton town !!!!!! in da house used to run camden...jed corey kev lee lee peter taylor, o farrell, days for ever never forgotten, always in my heart
Take me back to technodrome 8/91. This tune was well ahead of other rave toons at the time. Great contrast of light & darkness. Chris Paul is a seriously talented guy. I thought he is living in american now, but this track will live for a long, long time. Near perfection. I'll have 2 New Yorkers please. And a bit of whizz. Ok,cough..
P.S Grooverider has just been caught with 2 grams of puff in Dubai, and they sent him down for 4 YEARS. Shhhiit. Just read it on ceefax.
i feel so happy and smiley when i hear this tune. so so many memories from back in the day. hands in the air my fellow oldskool brothers & sisters, we r E
I thoroughly enjoyed Stearns. Always an 'interesting' drive back up the A24! Usually the odd broken down car full of mash heads wondering what had happened....:-)
Then when a flash BMW or Renault 5 Turbo shot past, people naturally assumed it was a DJ slamming it back up to London for a final set!! Though it probably wasn't; LOL. The dayz!!
Good question! Its a shame its all finished, these tunes had such a unique sound to them so much better then modern dance tunes which are shite in comparison
Classic tune....I have this on vinyl, but unfortunately dont have a deck to play it on anymore. Hasta la vista is a classic tune on this LP also. Happy old skool dayz.
Ha ha I havn't heard this for about 16 yrs Its brought me back up on my Es. (Faze 4's trippy as fuck !). . .actually chuck in 3 rapps of Pink Champagne as well
