when you say some of your friends couldn't join because of medical history what kind of medical problems did they have it would mean alot if you could tell me
@wranglerman19 i had one friend that couldnt join because he had a serious cut on his hand that he didnt go to the doctor for so it didnt hear properly. I have another friend who had pins put into his leg because of a bad brake that was disqualified
Haha, dumbest video ever! By the way, the Army is retarded don't ever compare us to soldiers! Yeah we fight for our country but Marines don't shoot at an Army convoy in combat...Army does!
@Troforso I don't believe anyone here said anything about war being glorious, so I'm not sure why you're posting that question, but ill answer you're question anyway. There isn't glory in war unless you count seeing your friend splattered on the street, seeing innocent people die, permanent injuries, and not being able to sleep for weeks on end when you get home as glorious. I am a professional war fighter and damn proud of it though.
@sensiejosh oh come on, the "glory" part or what ever was the reason i joined years back. I dont see where the pride come in, i mean soldiers are just puppets, simple as that. If there where something true to fight fore on the other hand, its something else, like fighting to defend your homeland or a friendly nation. The wars in iraq etc, aint helping anyone, sorry dude but thats the reality as i see it.
Hey guys, my dad was a recruiter for a couple years, but he was in the army for 23 years anyway I was wondering if maybe my dad can tag along with me to talk to a recruiter so I wont get taken advantage of or anything
@hurricanenet31 yeah, anyone can come along. I talked to my cousin who is an army recruiter about everything before i joined. Get as much help as you can when talking to recruiters and deciding to join
Arguing about which branch is better is pure stupidity.. Army and marine Corp both fight for the USA.... Were brothers in arms... Sure marines get longer training in the beginning and sure army gives more job choices but who gives a fuck .... Both are badass and are defending protecting and serving the united states of America.... Jesus.
Make sure all you future Marines read through the website that is linked on my profile page. It goes to a website for Future Marines and it is a must read for all who want to one day serve in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi!!
Marine PT isn't that much higher than the army. Most noticeable difference is the 3 mile run instead of 2 however they give you 30 minutes.
Marines take pride in their marksmanship training. As in, all marines, regardless of mos, are qualified shooters.
The only reason people undermine the army is because the army stopped screaming at their recruits. Airborne, sappers, marksmen still rocks, rangers still lead the way, and the army sf are still the best in the world.
@marc15yo i was on an army base for a couple months and we do get a lot better pt (POGs at least). It does vary from unit to unit, but the army didnt pt anywhere near as hard as us
Sensiejosh airbourne school is not done by army cause my uncle teaches it with other marined plus I'm a scout sniper myself and I was taught by marines
I wanted to do ground based work, which ruled out Navy and Air Force for the most part. I actually did conscider AF security force for a while. Compared to the Army, The Marines is a step up in my opinion. The boot camp is harder and longer, they have to be more physically fit, and they have to be able to shoot farther. In addition to that, the Marines get way more respect than the Army for the most part
Yep. If i get called up to go there, which most likely will happen, I'll go with out complaining. I signed up knowing that we were at war, and i'm willing to fight
Hey, wouldn't you rather have a chance to be Air Borne, Rangers, Special Forces, Sniper, Air Assaulting ect? I am enlisting into the Army for these reasons. They can offer multiple types of schools. I can get a chance to become better than who I really am. Marines, well, there Boot camp 98% of them pass (Same as the Army). So why not receive more training later on? The Army is much more alive in my eyes. See what I'm saying? Please tell me why you picked the Marines over the Army?
Actually, you can go to airborne school, air assault, become a sniper and do special forces in the Marines. The Marine Corp's special forces are called force recon. It is tue that the air borne and sniper school for the Marines is done by the army, but the Marines can still go to those schools. The Marine's special forces have their own school. Why I picked the Marines over army, in basic training, Army recruits are only required to qualify for 300 yards in shooting with iron sights, Marines
require 500 yards with iron sights. The Marine Corps physical requirements to pass boot camp are also much higher than the Army. In addition to that, every Marine is trained to be an infantryman 1st and then for their job. An admin soldier will not have as much combat training as an admin Marine. Another big thing for me was that in Army basic training, they are now allowing cell phones for the weekend and you have red cards that you can hold up if the DI is stressing you too much.
What matters about how far they can shoot :P. Marines are only Infantrymen if you imagine them to be. Soldiers are Infantrymen. they go there the Marksman course and shit just like the Marines. Another reason I didn't enlist into the Marines, is because they're cry babies. They go bragging about every little thing they did in the corps and call you a pussy if you say otherwise. ACTUALLY, I am going to call a Marine recruiter today :P. I'll post it for you.
What matters about how far they can shoot? Really? if someone can shoot me from almost twice as far away, i'm gonna be a lot more worried about fighting that person. Army people are just as bad if not worse at the bragging and whining, and I've seen it 1st hand, the Army will take almost any one, the Marines are a lot more selective about who they accept. My friend got instantly rejected from the Marines and couldnt even get a waiver, the Army didnt even ask for a waiver
My cousin is an Army recruiter, I have friends who have been in the Army for almost 20 years, and I talk to my recruiter plenty and my friends in the Marines. I know how it works, I still encourage you to call though, just dont be disrespectful to anyone you're calling.
I am sure if that Soldier needed to shoot 500 yards with Iron sights he would have. But like I said, I am calling a Marine recruiter at 2:00. You got skype? I can bud ya in if you want to listen..
@Videos4USArmy Marine Boot Camp is 13 weeks.. Army is 9 weeks. Army provides a lot more opportunities once you complete boot camp, no one can disagree. But the Marines have a much more rigorous basic training program. The old saying goes "Army gets the gear, Marines get the training". I am still in the process of deciding whether Army of Marines will be best for me (or possibly Navy.. only if i can get into BUDs though). Either way, both branches serve our country and fight for the same reason.
@Videos4USArmy Sounds like you got rejected by the Marines for being a fat-body and now you hold bitterness towards the finest branch of the U.S. Military. It's O.K. man, I'd feel sad as well. I hope you enjoy life in the Army, but remember, that if you're walking down the street with your girlfriend and you see a Marine, the sex you have that night with her will only be so much better than it usually is because she was thinking about that rough and tough devil-dog she wishes was digging her.
@Videos4USArmy That's your big comeback? If you're in the Army you may as well wear a shirt that says, "Loving the Cock meat right now, got the cheeks on Spread and I can't believe it's not butter." smh.
and just type marines in the search box. there are a lot of really good articles on boot camp and life in the marines. i spent a few hours reading them, and got a lot of great info
