  • his eyes @ 5:16 cause he KNOWS what Bensenhurst is like is hilarious, priceless!

  • Yet another superb movie from the great film director Spike Lee. this movie is as pertinent today as it was when it was released 20 years ago.

  • flipper deserved everything he got in this film....how in the hell could any black man cheat on lonette mcgee for a white woman.....I mean she loved flipper and knew her place as a black woman and he fucked it up BIG TIME and I had no sympathy for him.

  • @ROCKNROLLFAN Newsflash: IT'S JUST A MOVIE.......SMH.

  • @ezekielthemack what does SMH stand for....

  • @ROCKNROLLFAN Shakig my hea

  • $100 for a job application? when i was little i was not hip to this but now im older i see a job app. dont cost no $100! Gator was smooth

  • Gator for Vice President 2012

  • Love this movie a lot but damn with all the back ground music lol....

  • in these hard times applications are very expensive, well over $100.

  • dammit,,,dont they have any rehab for crackheads in NYC????

  • @ArmandoRibeiro100 not at this time. Just the starship enterprise that takes people up to orbit.,

  • @22centman36 Nino Brown would love your comment

  • Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis are the cutest couple

  • On 5:20 they have on Different Clothes.

  • That was A BIG DOOR!

  • So funny watching Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee playing these roles. They were in an open relationship. Ossies characters would've torn the real Ossie Davis to pieces.

  • i "think" he chose not to have music with words so that we would focus on their words, also the use of light is brilliant..notice it gets darker and darker the closer they get to "cheating"...it's symbolic, they started out two different races..but as they began to know each other, the "color" begins to fade

  • yes, cheating is cheating no matter what color, but if you watch the whole movie, a scene with his wife she explains all the issues she had with color growing up as a kid, which is why it is even more painful for her to have him cheat with a woman of a different race....

  • I love how when he says, "I've never cheated on my wife before", and the music stops.

  • This is really quite heart breaking his crack addicted son controlled by his own addiction comes over after being forbidden to and you know it breaks his mother's heart who despite everything loves him so. And the painful wailing backdrop of Mahalia Jackson's bless this house makes for a rather heart wrenching scene

  • i really do love the chemistry with sam , wesley, ossie , and ruby as a family, they show two oppisite sides of the results off their sons, one is a distnguish architect and one is a crack head! spike was a genius in this movie!

  • it is true ...as a white person I do love a "deep dark tan" ...I used to spend hours in the sun to tan my skin brown every spring into summer

...this movie is the first time that I had ever even heard most of those name...I wish I could say/type the same for 'a man cheating on his wife'

thank-you for sharing this movie here

  • Spike Lee's scores are always overdramatized.

  • I actually like the music

  • the music is soo irritating !!

  • can't find part 4

    i'm missing part 1 too

  • test of faith for ossie

  • Angie is a cute cute girl, but I've always been the kinda girl to lean toward...(going to sound racist) "black-black love." I don't date men, but even with dating women, I've experienced racism in the gay community. Some white women will completely reject me, before even getting to know me, and Asian women? Lol, they stick with either their own kind or are obsessed with white women. So I guess I just stick with my sisters because they get me more, culturally and accept me more.

  • spike lee movies and their blasted continuing music

  • where are part 1 and 4

  • @blackYUGMinds they cut out the sex scenes . why there missing

  • @married1959 Good point. 'Jungle Fever' has one of the most realistic and sexy inter-racial sex scenes in cinema.

  • Samuel L. Jackson is amazing in this movie.

  • A mother would do anything for a son. 2:58

  • When they're in the office, how come their clothes keep changin?

  • @capncris over a period of time they were doing that lol

  • @terrillm12 oh i c lol

  • @capncris It's just trying to show a passage of time... you'll notice the food is different as well... it was three separate times after work they ate together

  • @dukane14 o that makes sense

  • @capncris cuz there workin overtime,so theyre there over a course of time.

  • can someone please tell me the name of the singer please , i like these kind of afroamerican songs

  • @modjuye

    Mahalia Jackson is the singer.

  • She's been living in NYC all her life and yet she's never met anyone from Harlem? Are the boroughs that closed-off and insular that people never cross paths??

  • @slevisman lol...that's how it is in the Windy City

  • angie is very pretty. and she knows how to cook, and likes to cook i think. id handcuff her for myself..

  • Love Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.... two of the greats!

    Part 1 and 4 are missing... 8((

  • i've never really understood why Gator is the way he is ,he comes from a loving, with great parents, his brother ends up becoming a well paid architect yet he becomes a homeless crackhead, makes no sense.

  • @oldsnake8592 His mother is a dorrmat and his father is a religious fanatic who's expectations he could never meet. They were not great parents. the father is barely even sane.

  • @aurianaserena Fair enough but if you look at Flipper he turned out ok, theres a striking contrast between him and Gator

  • @oldsnake8592 He may not be a criminal or frug addict, but is he really okay? the man has so many issues and hang ups with race and skin tone, and showcases how much he hates his dark complexion yet has issues with mixed race blacks as well. He wifes up a woman who can pass for white, leaves her for one who is white, and then runs when he starts to love her because the idea of fathering a mixed race child scares him. WTF?

  • @aurianaserena

the mother was more like a huge enabler who let her love for her drug addict son blind her...I had a friend who's mother was exactly like that...he was totally messed up for many years and his mother was in complete denial and made tons of excuses for him and also kept giving him money after his dad cut him off, and the dad only cut him off because it had been years of helping him and my friend blew over $100,000 on useless shit, alcohol & drugs.

  • @oldsnake8592 yep I say the same thing with my family and some of my cousins but influence does not just come from the home but who you choose to hang out with outside of the home.

  • THEY DIDNT WANT US 2C WESTLEY TAPPIN DAT WHITE LADY BOOTY

  • INCOMPLETE MOVIE SMFH.

  • FUCK YOUTUBE for removing part IV.

  • i really like the intensity and moodiness of the score against the conversation in the office scene. it offplays nicely against the chemistry. its almost a 'warning against forbidden interacial romance' type feel. i dunno. I'm just hypothothizing here. whatever the intentions of the score it works. it really works.

  • Lee's subtext in the film was society's bias in favor of light-skinned women, so I wonder why he didn't cast a blond, blue-eyed actress to play the white woman.

  • the black is very ugly.

  • this scene talking about food is just crazy. It was too staged. His character was meant to cheat on his wife. And she was good to kick him out. He was an idiot. Just a plain fool

  • At 8:25, the scene reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey (When HAL is reading their lips).

  • whats with the music in this??? why is it soo aerie? should it be a bitt nicer when there talking and getting to know each other?

  • I Love Ruby Dee But Damn Her Character Is A Moron In This Movie

  • The dialog in this movie is lame. Spike Lee is a TERRIBLE writer..

  • @mozart20dlubos ha-ha the expert movie critic himself..Spike is one of the best out there

  • he totally ruined their dinner lmao, such an awkward moment.

  • the father is so fucking annoying! got damn!

  • Check out 6:07 when Angie takes a bite of that dark egg roll, looks at Flipper and expresses a bit of embarrassment as he catches her looking at him when she takes the bite and is looking at him at the same time. This was perhaps a covert expression that Angie was engaging in, probably acting out a hidden desire.

  • what did they change in their dinner clothes 5:06

  • Comment removed

  • aw duh they did play in do the right thing together i thought it wuz a different woman who played ruby dee!

  • it was so obvious Gator was on crack.

  • @cami725 Samual L. was actually fresh from recovery himself when he played the part (i heard)..he didn't even use makeup

  • @rshandy wow damn well he was tore up in this movie.

  • @cami725 Crazy huh..no make up at all 100% him..check this one though..in order to get the "essence"or her role as a crack head, Halle Berry refused to bathe for 2 weeks...wow...she was serious about hers and played her role well too!

  • @rshandy aw hell naw. i gotta shower.

  • @cami725 Some crazy ish huh..the producers problably though SHE was on crack for not showering. I bet nobody came to visit her on the set ha-ha..and why 2 weeks...imsure everyone would agree NOT showering for 1 day would make you quite musty!

  • lmfao gator!!

  • you see how Ossie Davis turned to walk away and then turned back to come at Gator again. his facial expression right there said so much. angry, disappointed, sorry, all at the same time. this movie was Ossie Davis at his best. but just for the record...no way am I leaving that kitchen with my fucked up son in there trying to get money from his mother for crack. i don't give a fuck what my wife says about her "taking care of Gator". i would have took care of that muthafucka!

  • Why did they always refer to their father as "The Good Reverend Doctor"?

  • @antigoniem06 Because he was a reverend of his own church. I am also assuming the Doctor reference could mean he has a PhD

  • @Aulelia27 I googled it. Spike was asked that question in an interview. He said it was actually loosely based on what happened between Marvin Gaye and his father. One of the reasons Gator is on crack is b/c of his relationship with his father, who is a reverend. He(Good Rev. Dr.) is out of touch. Religion had a bad effect on Gator, but it's not the reason he' s on drugs, b/c his brother wasn't.

  • Ruby Dee and the Late Ossie Davis was two of my most favorite African American couples that stayed married and didn't allow society to intefer with their happiness as co workers in their life as actors.

  • the application cost a 100 dollars

  • @PrimevidaEnt that shit is hilarious, 100 for a application lol.

  • i dont blame him for what he said completely true about white people

  • Ossie Davis was a great actor but he was an asshole in this movie

  • BLRAAAAAAT! BLACK MEN FTW!

  • she's OD cute perfect girl for this role.. YARCH

  • My dad met Ruby at his work where they were filming a movie she was in. Real nice lady he said.

  • Where the heck is part 1????

  • samuel l jackson waz crazy ! you dont have to pay for a job application

  • isnt it the same cast from do the right thing

  • most of them anyway.

  • that dog is great actor, how the hell does he do all that stretching when the camera rolls...

  • mother sister and the mayor

  • Why did those muthefakkas change their clothes for some chinese take away food?

  • @szikcsova Spike is showing a progression of time over perhaps several days or weeks in one scene. You see the clothes change after every jump cut representing different days.

  • Angie played Gloria on the Sopranos she`was`one of Tony's side dishes lol

  • i don't know of any other spike lee movies, but this actors are wonderfully dircted,at least in here, not a fan,I told you, just looking now,but these scene are well acted.

  • Sexy chocolate skin!!!!

  • Hey I never noticed that Flip and Angie had dinner on more than one night.

Their clothes changed every time they ate.

  • I thought everything happened in one night.

  • @Atonil There is NO fact to that. The beauty either happens in this world....or it doesn't. But....whatever....

  • wesley is so pretty

  • ruby dee is a beautiful woman like tami terrel.

  • @t5y665yrty56 Yes, I agree! What a beauty Ruby Dee is. She and Ossie Davis made a great pair! I don't like this movie. It's stupid. Race had nothing to do with why this relationship failed. Hello? The man was married! If the lady had been black, it would have turned out the same way!!!!!!!! Also, what's with the hypocrisy and casting all light-skinned women in the lead?

  • @coccinelle80 Yes they did! Ossie Davis&Ruby Dee were just beautiful and amazing together! Flipper cheated because he was curious, so I don't think it would have been the same. I wouldn't have even been the same movie/plot had the lady been Black.

  • @imhissensualbeauty well c'mon now, if he had cheated with a black woman do you think their relationship would have worked out? Hardly! What they had was lust, and with time that fades away. There has to be true love in order for a relationship to work out. It would have been the same outcome if Flipper had cheated with Angela Basset or Grace Jones. As for Ms. Dee & Mr. Davis, wow, what legends, eh?

  • man you can cut the sexual tension between flip and angie with a knife

  • @NealWolf

Damn it, why did I thumbs down your comment?! Sorry. My bad, my bad...

The new YT layout is confusing, though :P

  • @TheMintyMuffin youtube always changes. It was good before when movies stayed in big screen when parts changed.

  • you people sound stupid every race have beautiful people and ugly people

  • your wrong have u ever seen an ugly half black/half white girl?

  • yo mama

  • Notice how there shirts chnage colors Its different days

  • Um cause he's black and she's white. Yeah that's a good reason!

  • Gators story is sad but he kept U laughing!

    @0:44

Mama: Gator (Kiss on the cheek)

Gator: Is the Good Reverend Doctor Home?

    Mama: Cant U tell?

    Gator: Yeah..Yeah there's Mahalia!

    @1:33

Gator: I got this great new job but there's only one..only one catch, the application cost about a hundred, bout a hundred $! Now they say I have the job, just the fee is a hundred $

Mama: U must think you have a fool for a mother!

Gator: No No I have a great understanding loving caring mother for a mother!

  • the sons addist character is loosely based on Marvin Gayes Relationship with his father who was a very religious man and by whos hand,Marvin died! Ironically Marvin bought the gun for him!

  • R.I.P. Ossie Davis

  • really though...flip and angie enjoy the same things...they hit it off beautifully...they're enjoying asian cuisine, and talked about both liking italian...the question is, now...why shouldn't they be together? it should be as simple as that...

  • cos spike lee is a midget cunt stuck in the 1960's and 70's. I remember watching this film in 1991 and thinking it was SO outdated! I mean by the 70's and early 80's 80% of white council estate slags were shagging blacks

  • taking over the country.the uk is very different from the us .the US is still more segrargated.

  • is it? I didnt think that was so. I still think spike lee is misguided and makes money out of his race industry.

I know black people in africa who watch american porn and see how black guys have lil white hoes drooling off their dick on tap, and they wish they were american and black. Tiger woods is a case in point. Tyson too, for all his whining the man, had pussy on tap in america,

And u have a black american president

  • im oreo.............

  • @actuary33 u know half of the US are oreo kids as u say how do u think light skinned people came around

    2K

  • Comment removed

  • @actuary33 I EAT oreos

  • @alexp9999 Because Flip is married...that's why.

  • 2:30 typical Christian attitude =P

oh well. the world's waking up.

to the church of chuck norris <<

  • I got jungle fever too lol

  • to avoid fornication let every man/woman have their own wife/husband. My mom's pastor to me that but damn SEX feels so good. And these days I could wait to be married forever. If I ever get married (not that I want to). LOL OH LAWD.

  • i would of hit her fine ass 2!!!

  • Same here. You be dumb not to bang that soprano pussy.

  • @harlem0987 I'd hit dat snatch-o italiano

  • gator d ol crack head.doin his little dance 4 his mama so he gets his crack money.nice guy

  • She's hungry for Black man!!!

  • i've got jungle fever.

  • There is my man, Sam Jackson! And Ossie Davis, bless his soul!

  • "Do that little dance for me, Gator." LOL

  • does anyone know the mahalia jackson song that is played in the good rev. doctors home?

    Thanks :)

  • I like the scene where Wes asks her if she has been to harlem..or could be vice versa, this still happens today in small towns and big cities, some people do not venture out of our comfort zones, but this is changing.....finally....before people judge spike lee about this film they should consider when he made it and his age, he's reflecting what he saw in his time.

  • why do they always induce racism into the eqaution and create situations that force it into the main problem? Like what ? a black man with a white work colleague automatically that means they wont be able to resist each other gimme a fkin break

  • where the hell is part 1

  • I was looking all over the place for part 1 myself.

  • i lived in both bensonhust and harlem

  • does anyone know what angie is saying at 3:58 after "see when i get home i usually gotta cook for them and then...?" its really bothering me because i feel like she's mumbling

  • she says 'and I don't wanna'...

  • What an asshole. He cried when they hired her then he wants to fuck her.

  • he probably didnt want her cuz he knew he was to weak to avoid cheating on his wife

  • It's heartbreaking to watch Gator get over on his mom. Such a sad scene.

    Excellent film overall.

  • When Gator eats the candy bar it reminded me of Dave Chappell's crack head character.

  • yeah it really is. i really like the scene though they're great actors

  • Comment removed

  • Please post parts one and two.

  • GatoRRR!!! lol

  • 3:32 the music really hilights the racism

  • yea... thank u.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • Yeah I agree u can definitely tell in wesley's eyes when he said "your tempting i think u can be doing a lot more than that", thats definitely a turn on. that turned me on and i liked wesley snipes in those kinds of movies back in the day he looks more handsome and educated i dont like the way he looks now

  • Gator has a fistful of Mr Goodbars! Who in his right mind eats chocolate like that?

  • he talks to her in a very seductive way. you definatly know hes after that arse

  • yeah hes obviously the one making the inttial move, contrary to what his wife says

  • how can u put your own beautiful mother through that, fucking crack head

  • Talk to my sister..I've been through this before..crackheads only care about the pipe

  • is this guy cheating?? what a contrast from the beginning!

  • u named it rong its 3 of 13
