  • thats a good tone you have there ..i would LOVE to hear this reposted with better sounding drums ..consider ?

  • I managed to purchase mine (the black Tony Franklin Fender Fretless Precision) only yesterday! IT IS PARAMOUNT!!! Black, Bold & Beautiful...and its Ebony fingerboard is...buttery...I Love it!

  • Put round wounds on that!

It's made with Ebano for that

  • This is such a nice bass! Almost exactly what I want to get....

    Tasty bassline as well :)

  • it sounds like a huge monster

    in a good way

  • Hi, thats a real nice sound, you got coming from the P-Bass. I've always thought about getting a fretless, since all my other basses are fretted. Is the Tony Franklin P-Bass made in the U.S., or is it like some of the other signature models, I've seen that were made in Japan?

  • @PBasser84 US-made, and every one I've played has been worth every penny! I'm mostly a Jazz & Spector guy & my main fretless is a Spector Euro Bolt-On Lined Fretless 5-string, but after I get my "Dream Jazz Fretless" (a Mike Lull Modern 5 fretless - check out "Bryan Beller" here for some killer examples!) I may do the same I did with a "spare" fretted Spector EBO 5 and swap pups to the P/DC setup that the older "American Deluxe Precisions" had for a "Spector Precision Fretless 5" oddball!

  • I was just checking out your basses through the talk bass forum. Great collection and sweet tone and bassline! Did you make up that bassline or is it from a song? I'm going to purchase a 2008 American Fender P bass, do you think it's a good year?

  • @emosdieslow Hello there - thanks for that! The line a jam based on a song by my band - do a search for 'caffreys lambretta twins' - I don't have much experience with latter-day Fenders, but I believe the QC is better than it's ever been.

  • i like the tone, but u need to practice more intonation...:P it would this perfect

  • Damn that bass is sounding sweet!!

  • Thanks for posting man, beautifull Bass.

  • Love your playing and in addition to that, would love to hear a different song.

  • Oh Christ, what a tone...

  • thnx men...

  • hi my friend....i'm searching to buy a 2x10 cab for my svt-3 pro and i'm thinking for Bergantino...what is your opinion for the cab???and what is the difference between AE210 and HS210...???

  • Hello! It's a great cab... I have a pair of them, and I don't think I'll be changing them any time soon. They're compact, punchy and loud! I have no experience of the AE210 but I believe they're deeper and not as punchy.

  • great tone dude!!!

  • cool bass, great video ; )

  • Why not roundwounds? Ebony can stand up to it.

  • Because I like flatwounds. Simples!

  • @29573428937 Once you go flat, ya never go back....

  • you are big Noob!

  • Ah, welcome back. I've missed you.

  • FUCKING NOOB!!!!!!

  • Oh dear... it's attack of the YouTube retards...

  • @jollybeggars lol

  • The fretted versoin is one of Fender's sickest basses I have both.

  • what do you mean by sayin' 'the sickest'? I consider buying a one of those and I would be grateful if you could say precisely if it is bad or good. I'm not a native English speaker but, as far as I presume, sickest means kickass =]

  • How does the fretted sound with both pickups switched on???

I am considering adding a jazz pickup in the bridge position on my Fender P bass.

  • It sounds great you should do it or buy the fretted one.

  • Pretty cool. Someday I'll own a Tony Franklin Precision.

  • I typically don't like Precision or P/J setups (pretty much a J-bass single coil man here) but there must be *some* mojo in the Tony Franklin signature's pickups - they work together extremely well, and to my ears is certainly the best of the three possible tones available. Killer bass

  • Cheers, Scarred2112! From what I gather, the TF's J pickup is custom-wound and buffered to bring it in line with the P's output. That could explain it.

  • I think that pretty much summarizes the difference between a Precision and a Jazz when you switched pickups there. Love the vids, man.
