Sega AM2 released a similar game 'Aero Elite Combat' for the PS2 yous hould also consider reviewing. I personally think Ace Combat series is the best for today's flight combat sim games.

By the way, if you have an iphone or android there is a genesis and mame arcade emulator in which you can play all genesis, snes, arcade, neogeo and other games.

thats a fact the game compliment's every system it's on except the nec version and master system version are pretty rough.this couldn't be done better on genesis it compliments the genesis very well.it plays fine it looks decent music is pretty good,good game.besides who actually owns a 32x? if you wan't to get the real thing sega saturn will please you the most.

I think outrun genesis was better than this. it's missing too much arcade graphics and you have autofire on by default. I would agree this was the best console version at the time and impressive comapred to the 8-bit versions.

You should try finding a scart RGB cable for your genesis. You might need a RGB -> Component converter, but the quality is significantly better than even S-Video.

It looks fun, but the thing that annoys me is that it is constantly shooting and like Heavy Weapon that takes some of the fun and control out of a game. Thats just my opinion.

I have played this, in huge simulator, it was really cool. Also I played this at my Sega. This was not taht good game as the reviewer says, also hang on was also that great.

Two things after burner related"

1.) There's after burner: black falcon for the PSP. Its an awesome game! its everything that makes afterburner great on the PSP and more!

2.) Afterburner Climax, a SEGA arcade released in 2006, IS coming to the 360 and PSN this Spring. Thats a great game and plays homage to this after burner.

Hey CGR if your genesis is having trouble connecting to your video editing equipment then try using your TV video out. Some TVs have a video out connection that might bypass your problem with the genesis. It still might not work but its worth a try.

and now after burner are re-created again by the company (sega) "after burner climax" it's more awesome than the first 1 because the graphic are awesome, and the sound. it's like you're controling the jet because you hear voice from your teammate and your base, and still the original sound of after burner (when you lock on enemy it will sound "fire" ) is used

Stage 3 was awesome! I remember when I used to ring my friend and we both played this and pretended we were pilots and we talked to each other! That was great. I also remember this arcade game called "G-Loc Air Battle" very much like this.

Believe it or not the AfterBurner 2 for the Sega 32X is the best home version of AfterBurner. It looks exactly like the arcade version. In fact it may be the only good game I have for my 32X.

you should play the 32x version it's a way better port expecially the backgrounds and amount of smoke that come off the misiles it's also a bit brighter as well and the sound is clearer. really great port and one of the 6 or so decent 32x games.

If you like this, you really need to get your hands on the 32X version, called After Burner Complete. It KILLS this version graphically and sound wise, and doesn't make your guns fire constantly.

Agreed. The Final Countdown was a great movie. That movie is so old that Martin Sheen looks like Charlie and Kirk Douglas looks like Michael. I also liked the fact that it was a science fiction movie and not a friggin romance movie where a guy loses his balls after his friend dies and turns into a crybaby.
