@broncojonnes Not for very long. If you push it you could maybe go 3-5 minutes, but no where near 20-30 min if you get what I mean. I use it more for shorter shots, like 5-20 seconds. Otherwise I use the vest and arm system.
get the fuck outta here, that's what i've been waiting for. if i get this and a 7d will i be all set or do i need some type of accessory to fit them together
@m420carbine4 , some sort of quickrelease plate is usefull (faster going to/from tripod). Even better if you can find for same plate as your tripod uses. And then all you have to do is PRACTICE. The Glidecam will only do some of the work, the rest is up to how you move arround. Smooth like a lion seems to work :-) Bend your knees and walk in a floating kind of way.
@m420carbine4 I highly recomend this setup. I just invested in this with a 7D. Word to the wise though, you'll need a wide angle lens. Maybe a 18mm. The crop factor makes it challenging.
Good camera work and so smoth by walking and running, I have the same Glidecam HD-2000, but I have really problems to hold the glidecam still. When I am walking with glidecam, it swings a little to the sides and by quick moves with cam, I cant hold the it with my left hand still. I am using Canon 5D MarkII with 50mm 1:4 and 17-24mm lenses, i must say its pretty heavy. I can hold the glidecam no longer as 1 min. for one shot. What is your experienses, how long do you practice with a glidecam? Ed
@lexadoma , in this movie I use Manfrotto 323, but if you use Manfrotto 501, 503, 701HDV videohead from you should use Manfrotto 577 to get the same cameraplate and not beeing forced to change plate when you swap from Glidecam to tripod.
it is a 18-50mm Sigma as I set up the rig, however we shoot the outdoor piece many weeks later and then I was using a Canon 17-55mm EF-S lens. It does get heavy to carry for a long time, I mainly use it for shorter periods. Most is short cuts like 3-10 seconds but I recon I could go on for about 2-3 minutes if I had to. For longer takes I use the Smooth Shooter with the HD2000.
wow. this is like a pro movie

nice, which lens were you using on 7D. I have the 18-135mm kit lens with the 7D and Glidecam HD 2000, it gets too heavy to hold.
