I think the music was too loud. There was only a short section in the song where you could actually here what she was singing... or maybe the song was just too high for her so she had to sing down the octave where it is more difficult to establish between words...? I don't know, but I think I prefer treyc's :)
dont forget treyc's version was sung under the pressure of a sing off and they dont practice the sing off songs as much as the actual show songs but i agree that Alex's voice is much more suited to this song than treyc who still sang it incredibly well.

Lets face it. A big voice doesn't always win the competition so you are quite wrong. Admittedly, when the small voice of Shayne Ward won, no-one really realised that he was crap. We are looking 4 great, huge voices nowadays to stop dance musicians gettin into the charts. Alexandra is perfect.
I keep wondering why part of the winning formula has to include big voice, after all aren't they meant to be looking for X-factor? To me X-factor stands for originality above all. I don't know what the f*** is wrong with some people, Diana is not a world-class singer seriously she is purposely putting on a fake voice to be classified as bizarrely (freakishly) different.. She is not special, I can even put that voice on.. seriously I'm not lying.. However Leona and Alexandra are the world-class singers each with different voices but roughly the same amount of talent, although (by experience) Leona would be better...And Eoghan - don't get me started on him!

I said she was a good singer, just not great. Toni Braxton sings this song with raw gut feeling which I don't hear in Alex's voice. Should she sing it like Braxton, perhaps not, but soulful songs like this one, in my own opinion, are generally better sung by black americans. How many black english women singers are internationally recognized?

Elton John has simply said that he refuses to watch the X Factor, nothing about Alexandra specifically. Well fair enough anyway, the beauty of music is that there are going to be people with different opinions and I respect that. But I just think she has the whole package and there's no way you can say her voice is "ordinary" It certainly isn't as good as the big guns but I think it is very raw and untapped and with a years worth of vocal training, she could be just as good as Leona. IMO
