  • H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y Todd!

  • Hurry, a few slots remain to learn from the master innovator, musician, producer and his career co-horts at the Todd Rundgren Musical Survival Camp (search this topic). Bring your instrument, camping/lodging gear. June 20 - 24, 2011 in the Catskills.

  • Todd Rundgren is one of rock's greatest innovators with longevity and a wealth of collaborators who have worked with him throughout the years. Bandmembers, et al will join him and fans/musicians and camper/lodgers at the Todd Rundgren Musical Survival Camp in the Catskills June 20 - 24, 2011. Visit his FB page for details and links.

  • Good to see Todd still on the beat. I have EVERY one of his records, on vinyl. My Dad was a semi big-wig with Warner, and got all of his albums gratis with the caveat "For promotional use only - Not for sale" A True Wizard, A True Star was my Favorite. It has naked ladies on the inner sleeve. I still have the original copy that I got back in '77. I think that I will go listen to it right now.

  • I see Todd still gets dressed with his eyes closed.

  • A very talented, gifted man. Great music for all time.

  • This guy has written more brilliant music in his life than most of us could ever dream of. Long live Todd!

  • Tremendous musician, lyricist, composer and live performer. Most of all an UNBELIEVABLE WORK ETHIC!!! He WORKS his ass off.

  • wos that gorgeous girl at 2:30?

  • very well-done. nice editing indeed...THANKS!

  • He kinda looks like Ozzy

  • @DimensionsofChange NO WAY!

  • @Sandratambu John Lennon

  • Todd's ideas are timeless. He is such a unique human being whose activities are mostly ahead of their time. I have always loved Todd and there will always be a very special place in my heart for him and his music.

  • @chungiemunchin Hey me too! I discovered Rundgren in 1971 and - he played a significant part in my rock and roll education - Utopia was such a great little band - guy is a wizard indeed! And I too hold a special place for Rundgren mostly"71 to about '88 esp!

  • God this guys a legend, born legend, very interesting talk though aswell, never heard about him being so truthful about what hes done.

  • The old studs of American & world music will NEVER be replaced & American Idol is teaching the young to except the mediocre. Really sad.

  • Todd is God...

  • @kmcandela I'd have to agree with you. However, what you wrote only works

in American English. If you're British, the phrase would become: Todd is Godd.

    Mwwaaaarrghhhahahahaaaa!!

  • @tepporocks Thank you for the British English lesson. I like it your way better! As I am typing this, "I Don't Wanna Work" is on a Carnival cruises commercial - how ironic is that???

  • @kmcandela it's Todd is GODD

  • @lorriutopia Thank you. tepporocks already gave me the lesson in British English...

  • Milan from ohio What I thought was awesom I attnded many concerts but when a killer whale at seaworld was dancing to Todd it blew me and my kids away. Thanks for a great career

  • conviction. That is what it's all about. Not success.

  • seminal musician of my time.

    saw him at the

'Brown Shoe" in Old Town, Chicago - 1969-1970??

he sang alone with just piano. knew right then and there this guy was just genius and a sage of music.

  • Ha You said 'seminal'

  • Went to tons of his concerts in my teens and twenties and now I'm 48! Keep rocking Todd. Show the youngsters how!

  • Wise words indeed from a master musician/producer/composer/performer

  • My son begged me to take him. What a hardship hah! I took him out of school and we took a road trip. (only a couple hours) . It was GREAT! And when we got home, he feverishly set about working on his own music for his band, Zero Gravity. It was Inspirational. And of course, a blast.

  • A Todd concert can truely inspire...

Great to hear young people getting back to OUR roots!

  • Todd! Hello Mrs. Lupner.

  • Thanks for the link, and of course the entire interview including Q+A is posted as a podcast on Rundgrenradio...Thanks for the work by all who mounted this lecture, a fascinating and insightful first person account into what's been a brilliant career !
