  • Hey, this music is from Desert Dream Amiga version

  • next time you'll film your screen, don't hit your dick on your desk while you record, it's boring. anyway, this demo is incredible for an atari ST

  • I'd lov to see a 3D shotter game from Oxygene! /|\

  • "What a great demo". they even ripped the soundtrack from a 1993 Amiga demo made by Kefrens (Desert Dream).

  • I could get it wrong once, but twice, after you pointed it out? Ermmm, I'm not quite that dumb (although my IQ *IS* only 75).

I'm so glad you finally acknowledge me as your bitch, I have been waiting for you my love. I'll have to masturbait over that.

  • Hha, you must be tired or something dude, because even though I think you are an obstinate troll (but my only friend! yay! I have so many messages from you tonight!), I don't think you're stupid. However you have failed completely to pick up on the irony in my posts... I know it's bated ;-) Please read the exchange again, maybe you'll see what I was trying to do the second time around. Anyway, I imagine this will all be turned around on me again next post, I await your reply. xoxo

  • Yes, baited. As in, you have been baited. Well done master troll. HAHAHA!!

  • For the record, above was a typo, I meant to say "I'm NOT saying the ST is as good as the Amiga, just asking you a question", however I doubt it makes any difference is you're clearly in all this for the LULZ, and a massive troll. I await your next insult with baited breath (although I notice from your comments to other people that you recycle your insults a lot. Please give me something original. "Gimp" LOL!).

  • I looked up the Juggler demo and it's similar to the one I remember. Juggler isn't just precalced, it's prerendered, and the results were stored as bitmap data and a 1.5second loop. It's very cool, but it's a completely different class of demo to this, it proves different things. I say again, there is no demo like this on the Amiga, and you can't make one as good. The amiga disk drive is too slow to stream the maths.

  • Look, this fun chipstatic2003, you're a hilarious troll. Anyway, I believe I just won. You couldn't answer my question without resorting to a few Amiga catchphrases and losing the plot. Irrelevant.

Let's revise: you said this demo is utter crap "lol!", I have asked you to show me an Amiga demo with as many polygons, same framerate, same sized scenery. I'm saying the ST is as good as the Amiga, just asking you a question.

  • No, help me out here, you're the expert. I want a 3d demo on the Amiga with more polygons and/or a higher framerate, and where the scenery is close to this size. Original A500 only. Go.

  • Just like that Amiga "ray-traced" man walking on a mirror demo that they used to run on Amiga's in shops, and was used by many to demonstrate how great the Amiga was. Precalc smoke and mirrors!! Precalc or not, this demo is impossible on the Amiga (because of it's slow disk drive. The pre-calced data is streamed from disk), but it's possible on the ST... so go and die! :-)

  • Show me an Amiga demo with faster 3d, please.

  • I hear this is not real time but pre calc.

  • Great demo and I simply love how the sound of the tracks loading data from the disc is audible! :)

  • soundtrack is from Amiga demo by Kefrens - "Desert Dream Part 1" watch?v=GH2GyQQIBNo !!!

  • Just one question... was the Atari STE superior to the amiga? Great demo.

  • sure it was =)

  • buahahaha - please... tell me in which place STE is better coz i don't see anything exceptional... sorry but i must say that any Amiga with OCS chipset is superior to the ST and STE

  • It doesn't look very impressive to me. The A1000 and A500 blow this away.

  • No, in 3d it can't beat this.

  • Cool. How's the frame rate? :)

  • You're looking at the frame rate. Do you mean how many frames per second?

  • LOL ...

  • To Leonard

I don't suppose you fancy using your coding skills to create WIPEOUT 1985!? or a S.T.U.N Runner clone? :o)

  • Excellent demo, and it's really good to read what kind of "trick" you used to make it possible.

Thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • I'd never seen this one... F(...)ing awesome : you always ruled, Leonard !!

Bin ouais, quoi, c'est vrai :)

  • That demo rocks!

  • One of the best demo i've ever seen running on my ste !!

Seemed to be a bit slower than this video though :P

Hem ... maby not, i'll give it a look now !

  • I can see why it won!

  • Ohh, nice floppy sounds, so the BIG question: is this delta-packed, or real polygon 3D or something leonardesque-inbetween?

  • Hi Gunstick! First time !I use YouTube, it rocks. I will add some demos videos soon (did you try the latest saint, very cool to record videos).

  • To answer you, it is real polygons (4bitplans). But, each frame is computed on PC doing all 3d and 2d culling (2d complete culling, so my atari polygon filler does not need clipping code at all)

Color palette is saved each frame too (only changing colors are stored in the stream). The 3d stream is streamed from the disk just because I only have 64kb memory left (all the rest is taken by the polyfiller, the sound player routine and module :-))

    cheers!
